Before 5 o’clock in the morning, Ruan Ning woke up promptly.
At this time, it was just getting light, and the sun hadn’t even risen yet. After a quick wash, Ruan Ning grabbed a piece of bread and drank a bottle of yogurt. Then, she hurriedly set off from home.
Of course, for safety’s sake, before leaving, she didn’t forget to put all the valuable items in the apartment into her space. In case something unexpected happened and she couldn’t return in time, she wouldn’t regret losing these supplies. Besides, her space was quite large, so she didn’t lack the room.
Regarding the limitation that her space didn’t accept cheap items, Ruan Ning had already thought of a solution yesterday. She could first put the supplies into her suitcase and then collect them all into her space. Moreover, retrieving items was much more convenient than she had imagined; she didn’t need to take out the entire suitcase. She just needed to silently think about it, and the items would immediately appear by her side.
Ruan Ning thought to herself that perhaps she might take a risk and visit the various luxury stores in the city centre or some high-end home furnishing stores to collect more valuable items that could hold things.
But this matter wasn’t urgent. After entering the apocalypse, everyone’s focus shifted to food. There were few people “robbing” items that were hard for ordinary people to afford before the apocalypse.
Before Ruan Ning had this “precious” space, she wouldn’t have had the reckless idea of going to the city centre just to take those impractical things that were considered valuable in the apocalypse.
Ruan Ning closed the door lightly and walked down the corridor with light steps.
The elevator made too much noise, so naturally, she couldn’t use it. Therefore, Ruan Ning went down through the stairwell’s emergency exit. Perhaps due to her good luck, she didn’t encounter a single zombie along the way and safely reached the first floor from the ninth floor.
There was a security door installed downstairs in the apartment building, and it was still intact. Ruan Ning breathed a sigh of relief; the door wasn’t broken. The situation in the neighbourhood was better than she had imagined.
However, upon stepping out of the door and witnessing the desolation of the apocalypse first-hand, Ruan Ning couldn’t help but gasp.
The street was in chaos, with fallen streetlights, shattered glass strewn across the ground, and dried bloodstains lingering on the soil of the nearby flower beds. It seemed that this place had experienced a battle between humans and zombies.
Thinking back to the images of zombies devouring humans she had seen before, Ruan Ning instinctively tightened her grip on the golf club, her body tensing up. She proceeded outside with even more caution.
The supermarket she needed to scout, 20-1, was only a few hundred meters away.
Ruan Ning was petite, and she had previously studied dance, so she walked quietly, always ready to hide at the first sign of danger. Thus, although it took a bit longer, she managed to arrive at the supermarket entrance safely.
The supermarket’s entrance was wide open, and one of the glass showcases was smashed.
Ruan Ning thought that someone might have come before her, or perhaps someone was still there. She furrowed her brows, considering the possibility of zombies.
With increased vigilance, Ruan Ning cautiously stepped into the supermarket. She looked around but didn’t see anyone or any zombies, even the owner she had seen when she bought things here before was nowhere to be found.
