PACFPE Chapter 6

In her mind, Ruan Ning cursed Gu Yicheng from head to toe dozens of times before feeling slightly relieved.

Gu Huasheng wouldn’t deceive her; he must have called Gu Yicheng to come find her. So, there was only one possibility: Gu Yicheng simply didn’t want to come rescue his cheap little sister, hence choosing to shut off his phone.

No, that’s not right. The male lead has been reborn; he knows where the original host died in the previous life.

He must think that she’s already doomed to die at school and couldn’t be bothered to come and collect her corpse.

Thinking of this, Ruan Ning suddenly felt terrible.

She’s perfectly fine and alive!

Does this world have to be so cruel to her…

She’s only twenty years old, and this body is only seventeen, still a minor. Can’t they show a bit more sympathy!

After dialling several phone numbers and getting the same result each time, Ruan Ning completely gave up on the idea of relying on the male lead, a distant mountain that seemed within reach but not quite.

Forget it, since she couldn’t contact the male lead, she would rely on herself.

So what if there are zombies? Who’s afraid of who!

Worst case scenario, she just won’t go out!!

Ruan Ning did think about going to report to Gu Huasheng, but would it work?! With the male lead shutting off his phone like this, as long as he didn’t actively reach out, no one could find him.

Feeling gloomy, Ruan Ning walked to the window and pulled back a corner of the curtain, looking down.

Her home was on the ninth floor, and from here, she could see several figures moving slowly on the road between a few apartment buildings.

From their stiff movements, it was obvious that these were not living people but monsters that ate humans. Zombies just followed their instincts to find food, and with her current height of less than one meter sixty, she wouldn’t be enough for them to nibble on.

Ruan Ning sighed, her gaze shifting away from those zombies, looking at the sky outside. The sun was about to set, and the sky was getting dark.

Though zombies aren’t afraid of sunlight, they tend to be more active at night than during the day.

Luckily, her family had spent a lot of money on securing the house.

Feeling slightly reassured, Ruan Ning quickly pulled the curtains shut.

Zombies track the scent and sound of living people, so while Ruan Ning’s actions may seem unnecessary, they are mainly to avoid those with ill intentions. She didn’t want others to know that there were people living in her household, to prevent any unwanted visits or actions.

It’s only the first day now, so most households would still have some food stored up, and people wouldn’t have any sinister intentions. But who could guarantee that after a few days, when the food runs out, things wouldn’t change?

Ruan Ning didn’t dare to challenge human nature.

A girl alone in the apocalypse should take extra care to protect herself, right? QAQ

Ruan Ning tried to stop thinking about those messy thoughts and focused on the neatly arranged and fully stocked items in front of her in the fridge. She felt guilty even thinking about wasting any of it.

She didn’t have a way to preserve food, and once the power went out across the city in a few days, these ingredients wouldn’t last long. It was better to figure out a way to use them now and eat them, at least the other snacks could be preserved for a bit longer.

Ruan Ning had never cooked for herself before, so she looked up recipes and spent a good part of the day in the kitchen, managing to come up with a few passable dishes.

Hmm… It seemed she really didn’t have any talent for cooking.

Thinking about the even tougher days ahead, she reluctantly forced herself to swallow the food and finished everything.

After eating her fill, Ruan Ning opened her phone and found a suddenly popular post online.

Although there were communication problems in S City now, it didn’t mean other cities were facing the same issue. As long as there was no power outage, phones could connect to Wi-Fi and continue to access the internet.

Curiously, she clicked on the post and found it was about an apocalypse prophecy.

Discussions about the end of the world had been popping up intermittently for years, sparking some interest initially and causing a bit of panic buying among ordinary citizens. However, most of these discussions eventually faded into obscurity, and life went on as usual.

The reason this post went viral at this time was because it was published at 1:30 this afternoon. The poster prophesied that the end of the world would begin in two hours.
