TVFCATEOD Chapter 58

Xiao Yang is indeed afraid of Fu Chen. This time, it’s purely driven by emotions. Who knows when they will return to the Yaoyang Base?

Although the City of Death is dangerous and far away, he believes that Fu Ge and everyone else can rescue the scientist named Li Jin. Both Qingqing and Bai Tiantian have spatial abilities. Fu Ge would rather bring troublesome Bai Tiantian along than Qingqing.

He knows that Qingqing wants to follow the team and doesn’t want to stay at the Yaoyang Base with Cheng Rui.

He wants to bring Bai Qingqing with him and keep her by his side. After rescuing that scientist, he plans to take her back to the Jingzhou Base to live together.

Fu Ge promised him before, saying that he should not confess his feelings yet and that Fu Ge would make the decision when they return to the Jingzhou Base. However, he broke his promise and handed her over to Cheng Rui.

Although he was annoyed in his heart, he didn’t show it and secretly took her away.

Xiao Yang held the girl tightly in his arms and said, “Qingqing, go to sleep quickly. If you don’t sleep, don’t blame me for doing something to you.”

Young people are prone to impulsiveness, especially when the girl they hope for is lying next to them. He didn’t want to show those dirty thoughts, in case it made her struggle.

Bai Qingqing sensed the danger in his breath and quickly closed her eyes, saying, “I’m going to sleep.”

The two fell asleep in each other’s embrace.

The next day, when Bai Qingqing woke up, she felt a stiffness in her body and realized that the wounds on her neck and shoulders were no longer painful.

She reached out and touched her neck and shoulders, finding no scars or marks. Her skin was smooth, and the previous injuries had disappeared without a trace.

What happened? Did her abilities upgrade and heal the injuries on her body?

In the past, when her abilities upgraded, her injuries didn’t heal. Bai Qingqing was puzzled, unaware that the young man behind her had also woken up.

“Qingqing,” Xiao Yang acted like a little puppy, nuzzling her neck. “Did you sleep well last night?”

A knocking sound interrupted her response.

A male voice came from outside the door, “Xiao Yang, are you awake?”

Both of them were familiar with the deep and slightly magnetic voice—it was Fu Chen’s voice, and he was outside the door.

Bai Qingqing’s whole body tensed instantly, almost thinking that she had been discovered.

Her heart thumped wildly, as if it was about to jump out of her chest, and her toes couldn’t help but grip tightly.

Xiao Yang hugged her and lowered his voice. “Don’t be nervous, Fu Ge didn’t notice.” He pretended to have just woken up and said loudly, “Fu Ge, I just woke up.”

“Come down for breakfast when you’re ready,” Fu Chen said from outside the door.

“Okay, got it,” Xiao Yang looked at the nervous Bai Qingqing, placed his hand on her silky hair, and leaned down to her ear. “What do you want to eat? I’ll bring it to you later.”

Bai Qingqing glanced at him, thinking he was quite daring. Fu Chen was outside the door, yet he was still talking to her.

Fu Chen looked at the closed door, a slight doubt crossing his mind. When did Xiao Yang become so slow? He was supposed to get up and open the door to go down.

“Xiao Yang, you’re still not up?” He frowned slightly.

The car was about to leave soon, and it was time for him and Xiao Yang to switch and take turns driving.

Xiao Yang couldn’t bear to leave the warmth and fragrance in his arms and wanted to stay a little longer. He replied, “Fu Ge, you go ahead. I’ll be there soon.”

“Hurry up,” Fu Chen stared at the door for a second before turning and leaving.

Bai Qingqing nudged him with her elbow, saying, “You should get up quickly.”

Xiao Yang didn’t let go and sighed, “I really don’t want to get up.” Unable to resist, he kissed her cheek lightly. “Qingqing, bear with it and hide for a few more days.”

Bai Qingqing pushed his head off her shoulder. “Enough, you should hurry downstairs. It would be disastrous if he finds out later.”

Reluctantly, Xiao Yang got up, stretched lazily, and let out a slight crackling sound from his bones. The young man had a tall and powerful figure.

He left the room and locked the door before going downstairs.

Xiao Yang usually didn’t like to sleep in, but everyone blamed him for waking up late because the team didn’t bring Bai Qingqing along. He still held some resentment.

Liang Zhiyu glanced at him. “Breakfast is in the kitchen, go get it yourself.”

Xiao Yang first went to freshen up. Early in the morning, he washed his head with cold water, roughly wiped it with a towel, and draped it over his shoulders while staring at the eggs and sweet potatoes in the pot.

Qingqing didn’t like these things.

The food for breakfast must have been eaten by the team already, and there wasn’t much left in the pot. It was enough for him to eat alone, but there was still a Bai Qingqing upstairs who needed his care.

He knew that she had bread and pastries in her space, but she preferred to drink soy milk or milk in the morning and eat some noodles or vermicelli. The soup was preferably a little spicy.

Xiao Yang poked his head into the kitchen and furrowed his brow. “Can you make me a bowl of noodles?”

Liang Zhiyu pushed his glasses and put down his electronic tablet. “You want noodles?”

“A few eggs won’t be enough to fill me up.” Xiao Yang grinned. “You’d better make me a bowl of noodles so I can eat to my heart’s content.”

Bai Tiantian took the initiative. “Dr. Liang is busy, I can do it.”

“Don’t spoil him,” Liang Zhiyu squinted his fox-like eyes and said calmly, “If you want to eat, make it yourself.”

Bai Tiantian sat down awkwardly.

Xiao Yang snorted coldly. “I’ll do it myself.”

Fu Chen and Shen Mingxuan came back from outside and saw Xiao Yang in the kitchen heating water. They looked at Liang Zhiyu.

Liang Zhiyu said, “That kid wants noodles, so I asked him to make it himself.”

Xiao Yang used to be a pampered rich young master who had no skills in the kitchen, even worse than Fu Chen. It would be better for him to do more tasks than to cook.

“Let me do it,” Fu Chen stood at the kitchen door.

Xiao Yang had tasted Fu Chen’s plain noodles before and immediately stepped aside, smiling. “Thanks, Brother Fu.”

Plain noodles were Fu Chen’s specialty. Soy sauce, chopped green onions, and a little salt were put in the bottom of the bowl, followed by pouring boiling water over the cooked noodles.

“Done.”

Xiao Yang sniffed and said, “It smells great.” He took a few drops of chili oil and added them to the bowl before carrying the noodles upstairs.

“Where are you going?” Liang Zhiyu called him.

Xiao Yang glanced at Bai Tiantian and said coldly, “Seeing certain people ruins my appetite. Can’t I eat upstairs?”

Bai Tiantian felt even more embarrassed on her face. Since the team left the Yaoyang Base, Xiao Yang hadn’t given her a single good look or treated her kindly.

Shen Mingxuan said, “Just ignore him.”

Liang Zhiyu and Fu Chen exchanged a glance, both showing a hint of helplessness in their eyes. Xiao Yang, that stubborn kid, was too straightforward.

Xiao Yang went upstairs, made sure no one was following him, and then unlocked the door.

After Bai Qingqing finished washing up with the water from her space, she was about to take out some food when she smelled the delicious aroma. She turned her head and saw the young man coming in with a bowl of noodles.

There were no chairs in the room, so she could only sit on the bed. Xiao Yang squatted in front of her, holding the bowl of noodles and handing her the chopsticks. “Qingqing, here are the noodles.”

Bai Qingqing took the chopsticks and looked at the sincere young man. The bowl of noodles was very hot, and she noticed that his hands were red from the heat.

Xiao Yang seemed oblivious to the scalding temperature and urged her, “I added chili. Eat it while it’s hot.”

Bai Qingqing’s heart stirred slightly. She lowered her head and began to eat the noodles, while Xiao Yang watched her with a smiling face, as if he was very happy and satisfied.

“Did you make this?” She realized that the taste wasn’t Liang Zhiyu’s skill or something Bai Tiantian made.

Xiao Yang’s face darkened, and he didn’t lie. “It was made by Brother Fu.”

Bai Qingqing continued to eat with her head down. The portion was a bit large, and she couldn’t finish it all. She drank a mouthful of the soup, which warmed her stomach.

Xiao Yang took the chopsticks from her hand and finished the remaining noodles in a few bites. Seeing her looking at him with a curious gaze, he asked, “Why are you looking at me like that?”

He joked, “Do you think I’m becoming more handsome?”

Bai Qingqing replied, “Someone said that boys don’t like eating the leftovers of their girlfriends. They actually find it disgusting.”

“You’re admitting that you’re my girlfriend?” Xiao Yang’s face showed a pleasant surprise.

Bai Qingqing gave him a cold look. “You wish.”

A tinge of disappointment flashed in Xiao Yang’s eyes, and he said seriously, “When a boy truly likes a girl, he wants to eat with her, even finding her saliva sweet.”

He leaned closer, his refreshing face facing hers, with a longing in his eyes. “Qingqing, let me taste your saliva, okay?”

Bai Qingqing’s face turned red, and she quickly pushed him away, angrily saying, “Get away from me. Don’t disgust me.”

Xiao Yang covered his face, pretending to be hurt. “Qingqing, it hurts so much.” Then he leaned closer again. “If you give me a kiss, the pain will go away.”

Bai Qingqing couldn’t help but lightly kick his leg. “Stay away from me.”

Xiao Yang pinched her cheeks and said, “Stop making a fuss. I’ll lock the door when I go out, and you stay quietly in the room. Don’t make any noise, and no one will know you’re here.”

“Mhm,” Bai Qingqing responded.

Xiao Yang took the bowl and chopsticks and left the room. With a click, he locked the door, and the room returned to silence.

Not long after, Bai Qingqing felt the car starting to move. She pulled open the curtain of the window and looked outside. The scenery was quickly retreating as the car continued to speed along the deserted highway.

The outside view was not as beautiful as before, with grasslands and a lack of scenic appeal. She withdrew her gaze and took off the crystal nucleus from her bracelet to continue absorbing its energy.

After a while, she finished absorbing two crystal nuclei and went to organize the supplies in the space. That’s when she noticed a dark red Tang sword.

She took the Tang sword out of the space. It was the thing Fu Chen had placed by her bedside that night.

Made of an unknown material, the Tang sword was adorned with intricate runes, exuding a sense of mystery. Its surface alone revealed its superior quality as a valuable treasure.

Suddenly, Bai Qingqing’s sharp ears picked up the sound of footsteps. Someone was walking on the second-floor corridor.

Her breath caught, and she heard someone approaching the door, reaching out to twist the doorknob. The door was locked, and he couldn’t open it.

Bai Qingqing immediately held the Tang sword carefully and hid under the bed.

Sure enough, after a dozen seconds, a man forcefully opened the door and walked in. In the dim light, she saw a pair of military boots. The thumping sound of footsteps seemed to weigh on her heart, making her nervous.

Fu Chen scanned the room with his gaze, wondering why Xiao Yang had locked the door so securely, giving the impression that there was something hidden inside the room.

He noticed the messy bed, and his gaze slightly hardened while furrowing his brows. Xiao Yang used to keep his bed tidy back in the team. Why was it so disorderly today?

Fu Chen took a step towards the edge of the bed.
