BT70sTMUMP Chapter 39

I Want to Take a Look

Everyone looked at Kang Jianguo, speechless: “…”

Because of such a big embarrassment, the program couldn’t continue, and no one dared to provoke Lin Chuan anymore. Everyone just smiled, bid farewell, and left the newlyweds to their bridal chamber.

After sending off the guests, Lin Chuan started tidying up and even deliberately aired the room out.

Someone had smoked in the room earlier, and he was worried his wife might dislike it.

Meanwhile, Su Su had nothing else to do. She went back to the room, fetched some water, washed her face and neck, and applied some skincare products in front of the mirror. She thought, “Take care of your skin while you’re young.” She hadn’t paid attention before, and her skin had already looked a bit dull in her twenties.

Of course, staying up late was also to blame—who could resist the lure of their phone?

Just as she finished applying toner and lotion, the man walked into the room. He touched the heated kang bed and, satisfied, started laying out the bedding.

Su Su stopped mid-action as she screwed the lid back onto the bottle, glanced silently out the window, and thought, The sun hasn’t even set yet, for crying out loud.

Her face flushed, and she felt like digging a hole to hide.

Sure, this house was on the edge of the village, but there were still neighbours nearby. Especially the Lin family—if someone went to the backyard restroom, they’d immediately see what was going on in their house. Pulling out bedding and closing the curtains before dusk? What kind of situation was this?

“Don’t close the curtains—what if people see?”

“Are they not going to sleep?” Lin Chuan replied bluntly. After closing the curtains, seeing the hazy silhouette of his wife emboldened him, and he reached out to pull her into his arms.

He still couldn’t believe it—he’d actually managed to marry her. It felt like a dream.

Su Su struggled slightly, blushing. “You… at least light the lamp. And we… should wash up first.”

“Didn’t we wash yesterday?”

“That was yesterday; today is today.” Su Su was stalling for time, hoping to delay as long as possible.

Lin Chuan had no choice but to light the lamp and fetch water for her. When he didn’t leave after placing the water on the ground, Su Su asked curiously, “Why aren’t you going out?”

“I… want to watch.”

“No watching!”

“But you’re my wife now.” How could she deny him? It was his wedding night, and no matter how much she objected, this was his rightful privilege.

Su Su, too shy to let him watch, refused. In the end, Lin Chuan had to retreat to the kitchen to wash up.

He quickly finished washing, changed into his pyjamas, and returned. In a few strides, he moved the water to the side and leapt onto the kang bed. Casually, he tossed his vest aside, revealing his abs. In the light, Su Su noticed them for the first time.

Holding the blanket tightly, she stared, a bit stunned. What a great body. I really lucked out.

“Can I see now?” Lin Chuan said earnestly as he lifted Su Su from under the blanket to sit up. But only he knew how red his own face was.

Su Su couldn’t outmatch him and had no choice but to let it happen.

Lin Chuan now understood what it meant to appreciate beauty under the lamp—the more he looked, the more beautiful she seemed, especially as her clothes diminished. He nearly exploded on the spot, and without even blowing out the lamp, he pressed her down…

Su Su hadn’t expected him to be so aggressive and was startled, trembling like a little rabbit. Clenching her fists and closing her eyes, she was overwhelmed with fear, worrying he might treat her poorly after becoming his wife so quickly.

Just as she was lost in thought, Lin Chuan suddenly stopped. He even took a deep breath and, alarmed, said, “Su Su, you’re bleeding! Did I hurt you somewhere?”

Su Su opened her eyes in confusion and tilted her head. “What… what are you talking about?”

“You’re bleeding. Should we go to the clinic?” He grabbed his pants, ready to put them on.

Though frustrated, he didn’t want to harm his new wife.

Su Su finally realized what was going on. Flustered, she quickly sat up, grabbed her clothes, and started putting them on. “No, no, no need for the clinic. It’s… it’s that…”

“That?” He hadn’t done much yet, just touched her. Was he really so careless?

“It’s… the thing women get every month…” Embarrassed to death, Su Su blushed as she opened the cabinet, grabbed a sanitary pad, and got out of bed. Seeing the red stain on the bedding, she felt helpless. Her perfect wedding night was ruined.

Kneeling on the kang bed, Lin Chuan finally understood. Feeling awkward, he scratched his head, then slapped himself lightly to calm down. It seemed there was nothing he could do tonight. Well, at least looking was nice.

He pulled back the blanket, removed the stained bedding, and washed the bloodstains with Su Su’s bathwater, hanging it to dry. He knew from experience that bloodstains were hard to remove if left too long.

When Su Su returned from the kitchen after changing her pad, she saw her bloodstain cleaned up and couldn’t even lift her head. She apologized pitifully, “I’m sorry.” Her brief leave ruined Lin Chuan’s new marriage. Poor Lin Chuan couldn’t catch a break—his previous bride had refused him, and now his new wife had her period.

A gentle hand patted her head, and a low voice comforted her: “It’s not your fault. Besides, we have plenty of time. Come back to bed; I’ve heard… you shouldn’t get cold during this time.”

“Okay.” Su Su climbed back into bed and buried herself under the blanket, forgetting it was a double. Lin Chuan soon joined her.

Women are emotional creatures. Even without consummating the marriage, Su Su felt closer to him as her husband, becoming more accepting of his hugs and subtle affections.

Lin Chuan thought, though he couldn’t do anything, just holding and looking at her was nice—albeit torturous.

Su Su noticed his discomfort but stayed curled up, pretending not to know. Eventually, she excused herself to use the restroom, and when she returned, he had settled down, finally hugging her to sleep.

By the time they actually fell asleep, it was almost midnight.

The next morning, Su Su woke up to see the bedding hung outside, frozen stiff and swaying in the wind. Though nothing had happened, it looked like something had. Blushing furiously, she glared at Lin Chuan, who was carrying firewood into the house. “Why did you hang the bedding outside?”

“It was damp inside,” Lin Chuan explained seriously. Then he added, “It’s cold in the morning, so don’t go to the front yard for breakfast. I brought some grain; you can make porridge. Or we could cook frozen dumplings.”

He wasn’t confident in his new wife’s cooking skills, but he didn’t want her to go hungry.

“I don’t need breakfast,” Su Su replied. She had skipped breakfast often during university.

“No way. You’re too thin; you need to eat.” Last night, when she took off her clothes, he realized how skinny she was—her weight only seemed to be in the right places.

Lin Chuan forced himself to stop thinking about it to avoid more awkwardness.

So, Su Su had no choice but to admit she was thin and went inside to figure out how to cook porridge in a large pot. It wasn’t hard, though there weren’t any side dishes.

Seeing the barren backyard, Lin Chuan worried she’d starve. In the end, he decided they should make frozen dumplings, no matter how expensive flour and meat were—it was better than letting her go hungry.
