LMMR Chapter 14

The teacher left, abandoning the class, so the slackers of Class 24 decided to follow and join in the fun.

Mr. Huang, with a sullen face, rushed to the surveillance room and pulled up the complete video from the day of the monthly exam. The more he watched, the darker his face became, eventually turning as black as the bottom of a pot.

The school’s surveillance video wasn’t much different from the one posted on the school forum. So, this mess was indeed being pinned on him?

Facing the strange looks from the students, Mr. Huang felt increasingly frustrated, his face darkening.

After copying the surveillance video, he couldn’t help but sarcastically say through gritted teeth:

“What are you still standing around for? Don’t you have classes? Not enthusiastic about studying, but very eager about this!”

“Get back to class, all of you!”

Zhou Xiu, not interested in watching the video, had already returned to the classroom and was diligently doing her homework.

After the monthly exam, the entire grade had some downtime and privately gossiped about this incident. Over time, technical analysis posts filled the forum, leaning towards two possibilities:

One, Zhou Xiu orchestrated the whole thing due to a severe persecution complex. Two, Mr. Huang framed her. Either way, it was all just a mess from Class 24, which already seemed like a problematic class.

Why not spend more time studying like the Rocket Class? They’d already be on their way to Tsinghua or Peking University.

Xu Qing, using his admin privileges, deleted all the chaotic analysis posts.

Du Feiyang, enraged, clenched his teeth: “Why does this high-and-mighty tone sound so familiar?”

“Look at the ID, turns out it’s from the Rocket Class!”

Seeing these posts, the slackers of Class 24 were infuriated, ready to roll up their sleeves and fight with the Rocket Class again.

That night.

Mr. Huang copied hundreds of gigabytes of video, stayed up late watching it, and even consulted a professional friend for analysis.

The next day, with bloodshot eyes, he coldly snorted and said to Zhou Xiu:

“The video has been edited and is incomplete. The editing was very professional, showing a certain level of skill. However, for now, it rules out the possibility of you cheating.”

He snorted again heavily.

He played the video frame by frame, asking Zhou Xiu a series of questions with a serious expression, then marked checks and crosses on his paper.

Seeing Mr. Huang’s exhausted, red-eyed, and weathered look, Zhou Xiu put down her pen and sincerely said:

“Teacher, I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you. I’ll have those posts deleted and clarify the situation, then apologize to you. Let’s put an end to this.”

“This is wasting too much of your time.”

Mr. Huang almost choked, “No!”

Gritting his teeth, he said, “This can’t end here!”

Zhou Xiu, looking at Mr. Huang, sincerely said, “Teacher, I now believe you wouldn’t do such a thing.”

Hua Xu also said, “Teacher, I’m willing to believe you too!”

The slackers had laughed enough these past few days, their facial muscles aching. This scene was oddly humorous: just as the entire grade began to doubt Mr. Huang, Zhou Xiu chose to believe him.

The slackers had mixed feelings, silently pondering:

What kind of gem has come to their class?

After a while, seeing Zhou Xiu’s serious expression, the slackers of Class 24, one after another, stood up and loudly declared:

“Xiuxiu, you may not want to pursue this matter, but we need to see it through.”

“Teacher, I choose to believe you!”

“Teacher, I also believe in you!”

“Sorry, I misunderstood you!”

It wasn’t just Zhou Xiu’s issue anymore. Their entire class had been collectively ridiculed by outsiders, and if there was one thing Class 24 was known for, it was their fierce loyalty.

First, they needed to resolve external issues, then focus on internal conflicts.

Mr. Huang finished that class with a dark expression.

Such trust was almost worse than none at all!

The slackers began mobilizing their resources, searching for clues.

Unexpectedly, Mr. Huang pointed out two students from the Rocket Class, one of whom was Lu Lingshan. The top students of the Rocket Class were instantly stunned…

They stood up, frowning, and asked Mr. Huang indignantly:

“Mr. Huang, what do you mean by this?”

Mr. Huang coldly snorted.

“You all should focus on your studies! If you spent this much time on your work, you’d already be at Tsinghua or Peking University.”

After half an hour, the named girls returned to the classroom, one of them furious, while Lu Lingshan’s expression remained indifferent.

The girl who was questioned, Yue Shi, sneered, “The teacher from Class 24 is simply insulting.”

“With no evidence, just because I spoke to Zhou Xiu, they think I planted the test paper on her.”

“Lu Lingshan is even more innocent. Just because I talked to her the day before the exam, they assumed she gave me the paper.”

The top students of the Rocket Class were shocked, their jaws practically hitting the floor.

The entire class was upset, feeling like they had just been part of a cosmic-level farce…

Top students: “???”

“Do the students and teachers of that class all have something wrong with their heads?”

That day, Mr. Huang posted a technical analysis on the forum, addressing the “monthly exam” cheating incident from his perspective.

Students from all grades flocked to read it, and many were left bewildered.

“Why do I understand each word individually, but together I can’t make sense of them? This technical post is terrible, I’m angrily leaving.”

“Read the whole thing on my knees, now going back to review math logic and probability.”

“Wow, this is a bombshell. @Xie Shen, please translate this math jargon into human-readable language o(╥﹏╥)o.”

The slackers of Class 24 were even more confused.

They opened Mr. Huang’s response and saw a bunch of charts.

Time-Logic Analysis Table.

Location-Logic Analysis Table.

…..

The analysis was filled with identical O’s, X’s, and P’s.

Mr. Huang explained: The video had been edited by a highly skilled individual, but not to worry, mathematical logic would unravel the entire facade.

First, he presented a series of dense data, using all available school surveillance footage to logically analyse the parts of Zhou Xiu’s video that had been edited out, identifying who was present and who might have planted the exam paper in Zhou Xiu’s bag.

Next, he combined surveillance footage from the days leading up to the monthly exam (the part showing Lu Lingshan handing over the exam paper had been deleted) to speculate that Lu Lingshan had given the exam paper to Yue Shi.

However, very few people understood what he had written.

The students of the Rocket Class were outraged, “???”

“Their teacher is just throwing out a bunch of nonsense, blaming it all on Lingshan and Yue Shi?”

“Lingshan doesn’t even know Zhou Xiu! How could she have planted the exam paper? Ha!”

“Is the teacher from Class 24 just making wild accusations because they can’t find a scapegoat?”

“Lingshan, don’t worry, we won’t accept such a verdict!” The top students of the Rocket Class were furious at being falsely accused.

Their eyes were burning with anger.

Lu Lingshan was the goddess in the eyes of all the boys in the grade. With her superior family background and excellent grades, she was miles ahead of Zhou Xiu. The idea that she would frame Zhou Xiu was preposterous!

Zhou Xiu must be delusional in her desire for fame!

Lu Lingshan, still pale, nodded at her classmates’ words.

Class 24 was buzzing with excitement.

The slackers were thrilled and skeptical, hardly daring to believe it.

Who would have thought that Zhou Xiu’s offhand comment would turn out to be true? While they had initially suspected it was a baseless accusation, it turned out—

Mr. Huang had indeed indicated that Lu Lingshan had framed Zhou Xiu.

The slackers knelt before Mr. Huang’s post, asking Zhou Xiu, “Xiuxiu, can you explain this to us?”

Zhou Xiu studied it for a while and then slowly said, “This has to do with big data. He used big data analysis to calculate the probabilities of various events, predicting behaviour.”

“Although the video posted on the forum was incomplete, other surveillance footage around the school might be complete.”

“For example, mutual exclusion events: Hua Xu can’t be in both Building A and Building B at the same time. Complementary events: If Hua Xu isn’t in school, she must be outside the school. He built a mathematical model, like a traffic light at an intersection, stopping at red, going at green, to deduce where each suspect was at the time and who was most likely to have stolen and planted the exam paper.”

“The video had been edited too much to easily determine who might have done it, so he used mathematical logic to rule out other suspects and identify the main suspect.”

The slackers were astonished.

Even though it was all in Chinese, they still didn’t quite understand it.

Du Feiyang choked up, “Mr. Huang is amazing?”

The slackers of Class 24 shed tears, “Why did you have to tell us this harsh truth? What does it feel like to have your intelligence crushed?”

“Mom, I need to go home and study more math!”

“Kneeling, kneeling.”

“Mr. Huang went all out to find the truth. No wonder it seemed like he was losing more hair these past few days.”

“Damn, he always calls us trash. I’ll never dare to argue with Old Huang again. Turns out stocks really are more interesting to him than we are.”

The slackers of Class 24 suddenly got invigorated:

“Brothers and sisters, let’s go and demand an explanation from the Rocket Class. Damn it, that green tea bitch Lu Lingshan dragged our entire class into this mess. She insulted Xiuxiu and then Old Huang.”

“Can they have some shame already?”

“No wonder they were so vocal on the forum, urging us to study more. Turns out it was the thief shouting ‘stop thief’!”

In Class 24, the few who liked Lu Lingshan had their worldview shattered and fell silent.

They were reluctant to believe this truth. Coupled with not fully understanding Old Wang’s technical analysis post, they looked at Zhou Xiu with hesitation.

Tan Ming suddenly said, “Wait, Zhou Xiu, what do you mean?”

“Whether what Old Huang wrote is right or not, you’re just pressing ahead and saying Lingshan framed you? Does she have any reason to frame you?”

Zhou Xiu shrugged and didn’t say anything.

Hua Xu slammed the table hard. “Tan Ming, what do you mean? Are you saying that Xiuxiu and Old Huang are falsely accusing Lu Lingshan?”

“Ha, does Lu Lingshan have that much face?”
