LLASBWUH Chapter 12

Just One Time!

Gu Cheng had never experienced anything like this before.

It felt as though a tiny hammer was pounding away at his lower abdomen, bringing waves of swelling pain.

Frowning, he asked Ning Yi, “Do you have to endure this every month?”

Ning Yi pouted, twirling her fingers. “Actually, it’s usually not so bad for me. This time it might be because of the intense horseback riding, hehe.”

Gu Cheng: “…”

Ning Yi, feigning weakness and pitiful innocence, said, “Hubby, you love me the most, right? You wouldn’t get mad at me, would you? I entrusted my body to you at my most vulnerable moment—this is a sign of trust!”

Gu Cheng closed his eyes briefly, clutching his stomach. “How long does it last?”

“It’s intermittent; it won’t hurt continuously,” Ning Yi said softly. “Just, you know, one or two days~!”

“…Fine.” Gu Cheng took a deep breath.

So, women had to endure this pain every month.

It really wasn’t fair.

After a brief pause, Gu Cheng glanced at the pink-packaged item in his hand, took out a few pieces to put in his pocket, and tossed the rest into the trash.

Every second of experiencing menstrual cramps was alien to him. And now, on top of the pain, Gu Cheng realized there was another side effect—a strange and inexplicable irritation.

This irritation peaked when he returned and saw Gu Le with his green-dyed hair bouncing around.

The clueless Young Master Gu approached with a goofy grin. “All done eating, sis-in-law?”

Gu Cheng looked blankly toward the restroom. “…”

Gu Le: OvO

“Sorry, I didn’t mean it like that.”

Scratching his head sheepishly, his green-dyed hair swayed in the breeze. “So… are we still playing, sis-in-law?”

Just looking at him annoyed Gu Cheng. His face darkened. “No.”

Gu Le: QAQ Fine, we won’t play… but why so fierce?!

Though strangely, the way she scolded him sounded an awful lot like his brother.

Despite being scolded, Gu Le felt a little touched. Sniff!

Naturally, Gu Cheng wasn’t able to ride a horse again. He returned home with Gu Le instead.

By the time Ning Yi had rested enough to swap back into her body, she learned from Zhao Mochu that Ding Ziyue and her group had spent the afternoon posing for high-society equestrian photoshoots, complete with professional photography teams and fancy afternoon tea spreads.

“But only I noticed the real drama!” Zhao Mochu said, looking like a gossipy raccoon loose in a melon patch. “Ding Ziyue twisted her ankle somewhere and got helped back by Jiang Linyi! No fans were around, so no one caught it. Otherwise, this would’ve been trending by now!”

Ning Yi rubbed her chin thoughtfully. “Makes sense.”

Jiang Linyi had massive influence, and with his inevitable entanglement with the female lead in the future, he was a prime candidate for recruitment onto her platform. She needed to find the right opportunity.

“But right now, you’re the hot topic, my dear,” Zhao Mochu concluded.

Ning Yi: “?”

Apparently, Ning Yi’s photos from that day had gone viral. Not only had Zhao Mochu taken plenty of shots, but Jiang Linyi’s fans and photographers had also captured her horseback moments, enraptured by her looks. The photos were uploaded to platforms like CMore, where they gained massive traction and countless comments.

– “OMG, I’m obsessed! I said before, she’s stunning and so cool!”

– “Isn’t this the same gorgeous lady in the green dress from before?!”

– “Does she have an account?! I’m ready to stan HARD. [heart eyes][heart eyes]”

The hashtag #EquestrianBeauty quickly made it onto the trending lists across multiple platforms.

Ning Yi, however, didn’t take credit for the viral fame. After seeing the buzz, she turned to Gu Cheng with a heartfelt look and said, “Hubby, you looked so handsome training that horse! I’m so proud of you!”

Gu Cheng, who had just endured half a day of cramps, only felt a brief moment of relief from the intermittent pain after returning to his body.

He was in no mood to talk.

To keep Gu Cheng helping her with such situations in the future, Ning Yi decided to employ a strategy of motivational praise.

“Hubby, you’re so amazing and such a caring husband! Sniff sniff!”

“How could someone as perfect as you even exist?!”

Gu Cheng: “…Heh.”

Ning Yi’s eyes turned red as she dramatically declared, “You. Are. My. God!”

Gu Cheng: “?”

Over on CMore, Zhao Weining and his team of developers, affectionately nicknamed “the tech nerds,” stumbled upon Ning Yi’s stunning horseback riding photos. They collectively shed tears: Their legendary 01 boss wasn’t just technically brilliant but also gorgeous and ridiculously cool on horseback!

—“Why did she have to marry so young?! It’s a tragedy!”

In their frustration, they discreetly boosted Ning Yi’s content ranking.

As a result, Ning Yi’s equestrian photos and videos went viral across the internet. Meanwhile, despite Ding Ziyue’s carefully edited photos from the same event, she only managed to garner a few hundred likes and comments.

At home, Ding Ziyue was fuming, gnashing her teeth. She was supposed to be the one adored and showered with attention!

Frustrated, she hurled her phone aside. “What kind of trash app is this?! I don’t want to use it anymore!—”

But not long after, her photos suddenly saw a surge in traffic.

—[01 liked this post 5 minutes ago.]

Netizens who had just been drooling over the goddess on horseback quickly noticed the new activity.

-“OMG! 01 liked it! The mysterious founder!”

-“I love this effortless and low-key vibe!!”

CMore, as an up-and-coming platform, prided itself on its developers interacting with users. Zhao Weining, for example, had a personal account labelled “Zhao Family’s Third Young Master + App Developer” and often responded to user feedback directly, relaying it to his team for improvements.

Followers of his account also knew he frequently praised their core tech genius, 01. As a result, even though 01’s account had no posts, it consistently gained followers.

Ding Ziyue, naturally, had heard of the mysterious founder.

Judging by Zhao Weining’s age, 01 was probably also quite young, not to mention immensely talented. Now that they’d liked her post, could it be a subtle hint? Sigh, being so charming can be such a burden sometimes!

Her mood instantly lifted.

Of course. Why should she even compete with Ning Yi? People are just different!

Besides, Ning Yi’s little moment of triumph wouldn’t last long!

The appearance and developments around Jiang Linyi were playing out exactly as predicted in her dream. This confirmed that the plot she’d dreamt was indeed correct.

Ning Yi’s mistreatment of Gu Cheng was an unchangeable fact, and soon, she’d face the wrath of a fully awakened Gu Cheng.

Determined, Ding Ziyue decided she needed to inject Gu Cheng with the most important and heart-warming force to help him wake up.

At the same time, her brother Ding Yusen had been advancing collaborative projects with Gu Zhisong, mostly thanks to Ding Ziyue’s sweet-talking. They were even close to signing contracts. If Gu Cheng were still actively involved, Gu Zhisong wouldn’t even have a chance to take the lead. Ding Yusen himself would have preferred to collaborate with Gu Cheng directly, but his current condition made that impossible.

Leaning sweetly against her brother, Ding Ziyue said coyly, “Uncle Gu, you should thank me~”

“Of course, Yueyue! You’re truly the lucky star of both our families!” Gu Zhisong said with a fawning smile.

Ding Ziyue was smug. *Even if Gu Cheng’s hospital room is heavily guarded, Gu Zhisong will find a way to get me in.*

The next day. At the Gu residence.

In Ning Yi’s body, Gu Cheng stood in front of the toilet, his expression cold as water—staring at the opened sanitary pad in his hand.

“So, once you tear it open, it’s white inside, right?”

“It has two little wings. You stick it to the back of the underwear to secure it.”

“It’s super easy~ Hubby, you’re so smart; I know you can learn how to put on a pad! I believe in you!”

Gu Cheng: “…”

Never in his life had he experienced something so absurd.

After a moment, he closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and asked, “Are you sure you want me to do this?”

Ning Yi, lying comfortably, replied, “Of course, hubby! We can’t swap bodies right now.”

It was the second day of her period, and after swapping bodies multiple times to escape cramps and eat comfortably, they’d hit the cooldown limit. However, it had been nearly two hours since she’d last changed her pad. Gu Cheng was her only option.

Gu Cheng’s face was blank as he reminded her icily, “Ning Yi, I will have to take off your pants.”

Ning Yi, shameless as ever, said, “Oh, come on, you’re my husband! What does it matter? If you don’t change it soon, it’s going to leak!”

Having survived three years in a post-apocalyptic world, Ning Yi had long discarded any sense of bodily modesty. She’d seen enough dismembered limbs and torsos to be unfazed. And besides, Gu Cheng was a big-time CEO—surely he wasn’t so inexperienced with women.

Right?

Gu Cheng, who had never dated or spent any time around women before his accident: “…”

In the end, he closed his eyes and reached for her waistband.

“Keep going, hubby! Relax!”

“Just wipe the blood, stick the pad on, and you’re good to go! You’re the best—”

Gu Cheng: “Shut up.”

Ning Yi: “^3^”

Ning Yi enjoyed a wonderfully painless period.

She usually only experienced pain for the first two days, but this time, she was blissfully lounging in Gu Cheng’s body, completely free of any discomfort. It was heaven!

To feel more “involved,” Ning Yi showered him with relentless rainbow-colored compliments.

“Enough. Stop talking,” Gu Cheng said as he returned to his own body, closing his eyes.

After enduring two days of cramps, he really did need some rest.

Ning Yi: “Fine, fine.”

While she had been in Gu Cheng’s body, Ning Yi also took the opportunity to assess his recovery. His limbs were no longer completely numb but still unresponsive to control. His vision was fully restored, but the rest of his senses remained impaired.

Reflecting on Gu Cheng’s progress, she remembered that his vision had recovered through targeted stimulation. What about the other senses?

While slurping her noodles, Ning Yi pondered deeply.

The head chef noticed her contemplative look and chuckled. “What’s on your mind, Madam?”

As he spoke, he added an extra spoonful of seasoning to her bowl.

The kitchen staff often made special treats for Ning Yi, from desserts to soups, because Lady Ning had the most enthusiastic appetite in the entire Gu household. Watching her enjoy their food gave them immense satisfaction.

Ning Yi took a loud, satisfying slurp and said, “I’m thinking about how to help my husband recover.”

The chef, moved, replied, “Madam, you are so kind to Gu Cheng.”

Ning Yi humbly admitted, “It’s not enough. Not enough at all.”

She resolved to take matters into her own hands and help her husband recover!

After finishing her noodles with gusto, Ning Yi thought about all the effort Gu Cheng had put in over the past two days. With newfound tenderness, she gently asked:

“Hubby, do you want to regain your sense of smell?”

Gu Cheng, asleep, didn’t respond.

Ning Yi: That’s a yes √.

That Night.

At Gu Cheng’s private residence, Ding Ziyue finally managed to sneak past the first floor’s security with Gu Zhisong’s help and made her way to the second floor. Though she didn’t expect to see Gu Cheng tonight—too many doctors were around—Gu Zhisong assured her that there would be a shift change tomorrow, during which she’d have a chance to be alone in the room with Gu Cheng.

As she crept toward Gu Cheng’s room, she suddenly heard a commotion!

Alarmed, Ding Ziyue hid around the corner and peeked out.

She saw Ning Yi being escorted out by a group of doctors. “Madam! Please stop this!” they begged.

Ning Yi struggled, waving her hands. “Just one more time! One more time!”

The doctors, visibly sweating, tried desperately to block her path. Some stood in front of the door, while others frantically held her back.

“Madam, you can’t do this!”

“Please calm down, Madam!”

From her hiding spot, Ding Ziyue’s heart soared with joy.

Finally, Ning Yi’s abuse of Gu Cheng has been exposed!

Now that the doctors had caught her, they’d surely report this to Song Lan. Song Lan wouldn’t act immediately but would wait for Gu Cheng to wake up and deal with Ning Yi personally!

All of Ding Ziyue’s pent-up frustration dissipated in this moment. She was thrilled.

Gu Cheng, just a little longer, and your light will shine again!

Overcome with excitement, she turned and left to prepare her ultimate gesture of warmth and care.

Outside the Room.

Ning Yi finally relented, looking thoroughly aggrieved.

One of the doctors wiped the sweat off his brow and said nervously, “Madam! We understand your good intentions—”

“But if you want to stimulate Gu Cheng, you can’t use snail noodle pickled bamboo shoots!”

Inside the Room.

Gu Cheng lay flat on the bed. “…”

His sense of smell had indeed returned.

But he had also nearly suffocated.
