LLASBWUH Chapter 15

The Boss is Obsessed

The next day, Gu Cheng’s face remained expressionless, and he said nothing about the events of the previous day.

Ning Yi, assuming he didn’t like comments about his long feet, said thoughtfully, “Alright, alright, hubby. I won’t call them long anymore. They’re actually pretty short!”

Gu Cheng: “…”

The less she spoke, the better.

Today was a significant day—Gu Cheng would finally return to the company after a long absence.

Song Lan was thrilled to hear that Ning Yi would personally push Gu Cheng’s wheelchair and take care of him closely. She was so delighted that she prepared an entire room full of stylish dresses and formal wear for Ning Yi to choose from.

Ning Yi: Sniffle. Mother-in-law is the best.

In the end, Ning Yi picked a simple yet elegant pearl-white square-neck dress. She let her hair fall over her shoulders and wore light makeup, her naturally refined features standing out confidently. Even in a crowd, she would shine.

Song Lan paired her outfit with a mother-of-pearl necklace, her satisfaction growing. Then, with a pleased smile, she handed over the responsibility of choosing Gu Cheng’s outfit to Ning Yi.

“This sort of thing between husband and wife is great for building intimacy,” she whispered to Ning Yi.

Ning Yi nodded shyly. “Got it, Mom!”

A few minutes later.

Ning Yi emerged from Gu Cheng’s massive wardrobe with several outfits in hand, cheerfully displaying them to the man seated on the bed.

Gu Cheng glanced at them and said, “…”

In a flat tone, he remarked, “Ah Yi, it seems you really like colourful clothes.”

Ning Yi quickly gathered up the bright red, green, and blue outfits. “Oh, hubby, I was just reminding you how many clothes you have that you’ve never worn!”

Despite lying in bed for three years, Gu Cheng’s wardrobe had been continually updated. Everything, from tailored suits to luxury watches, ties, and brooches, was kept in perfect condition.

Ning Yi, envisioning the ideal cold and commanding CEO image, selected a sleek black tailored suit paired with a smoky grey tie. With the help of the servants, Gu Cheng was dressed.

Initially, Ning Yi thought she had a comprehensive understanding of Gu Cheng’s physique after yesterday.

But the moment he put on the suit, she realized—no, she still had more to learn.

This was the embodiment of a business emperor, a mature man, and one of Asia’s Top 100 Sexiest Faces.

The custom-tailored suit fit Gu Cheng like a second skin, perfectly highlighting his broad shoulders, lean waist, and long legs—even while seated, the sharp angle of his posture emphasized his striking proportions. The fabric of the trousers wrapped his legs with just the right amount of tension, while the pristine white collar framed his chiselled throat, prominent Adam’s apple, and sculpted, handsome features.

Hiss—*

He was a man who could carry any camera shot.

Ning Yi, never one to hold back, clapped enthusiastically. “Look at this kingly demeanour! This extraordinary posture!”

“…” Gu Cheng had no desire to hear more of her praises at this moment.

But this time, Ning Yi’s admiration was entirely genuine.

This revival of Gu Cheng had brought real traffic to her platform. Their recent partnership with a renowned camera brand was largely thanks to his influence. Normally, their platform made money through membership fees and promotional campaigns, but this collaboration marked their entry into broader commercial avenues. In short—it meant even more profit!

Of course, the brand’s desire to collaborate was motivated by a desire to capitalize on Gu Cheng’s fame. Gossip-hungry users were already preparing to capture his first public appearance in three years. CMore wasn’t the only platform; many media outlets were also scrambling to cover the moment.

Pushing the wheelchair, Ning Yi glanced at his face and asked, “Hubby, do you mind being photographed?”

Gu Cheng responded coolly, “Doesn’t matter.”

He had no issue with being seen in a wheelchair. His mere presence was enough.

Ning Yi: How touching! A walking traffic magnet! A money-making machine!

She gazed at Gu Cheng with deep affection. “Hubby, no one in the world looks better in a suit than you! You’re so handsome and such a money-maker! How are you so perfect?”

Especially when you’re making money for me! How mesmerizing!

Gu Cheng glanced at her and noticed that her eyes genuinely sparkled with admiration—this time, it wasn’t feigned.

Really?

The young CEO let out a cold chuckle, seemingly unmoved by her compliments. Casually, he raised a slender, defined hand to adjust his tie.

Heh.

Once he stood, she might just lose her mind.

The limited-edition Maybach with its distinctive custom license plate pulled out of the driveway. The moment it appeared, the entire city knew—this was Gu Cheng’s car.

The luxury vehicle cruised coolly toward the Gu Corporation headquarters.

Inside, Gu Cheng’s chief assistant barely contained his excitement as he delivered a report on the upcoming shareholder meeting. The rest of the executive office was equally thrilled, but only the chief assistant had been assigned the honour of personally escorting Gu Cheng.

After finishing his report, Assistant Zhou added a gentle reminder, “Eldest young master, everyone may be quite enthusiastic later. Please be prepared, both you and Madam.”

Gu Cheng’s expression remained indifferent.

Ning Yi, however, cheerfully replied, “Got it, no problem!”

She was quite excited—after all, she was heading into uncharted territory. In the original storyline, characters like the female lead never had the chance to step into the Gu Corporation. This place was purely the headquarters of Gu Cheng’s reign, where he crushed all competition and reigned supreme.

About half an hour later, the car stopped in front of the company headquarters.

The Gu Corporation’s main building was impressive, with a full-glass and steel exterior exuding modern technological sophistication.

However, Ning Yi barely had time to admire the architecture. Her attention was immediately drawn to the two rows of people lined up to welcome them, a velvet red carpet in the middle, and countless camera lenses aimed at the Maybach’s door.

The moment Gu Cheng appeared, a thunderous, synchronized roar erupted:

“Gu Cheng!”

“Gu Cheng!”

The sheer volume startled Ning Yi, sending a shiver down her spine.

Goodness, so this is what true grandeur looks like? She swore she could hear sobs in the crowd. If city regulations allowed it, they’d probably have set off fireworks and cannons to celebrate his return.

Meanwhile, Gu Cheng’s expression remained calm, with a faint glint of cold light in his eyes.

From the moment he had fallen into darkness three years ago, he had been waiting for this return. Now, even as he faced this moment, he remained steady, betraying no emotion.

His former assistants—Li, Wang, Sun—and over ten others from his executive office were all present, loyal and ready to resume their roles as his trusted aides. Even the head of security, Song Yan, had returned from the equestrian club, leading a group of bodyguards dressed in sharp black suits.

Seeing Gu Cheng seated in the wheelchair, Song Yan’s eyes reddened. **“Eldest young master, you…”

Gu Cheng glanced at the fervent, emotional faces of those around him and simply lifted his chin slightly.

“Inside.”

“Yes!”

“Yes!!

Ning Yi, swept up in the overwhelming atmosphere, felt just as exhilarated.

This kind of spectacle! My platform’s going to explode with traffic—turning that into profit won’t be a dream anymore!

Feeling inspired, she eagerly pushed Gu Cheng’s wheelchair forward. “Hubby! Let’s go!”

The wheels spun swiftly, surging ahead.

Gu Cheng: “…”

He gripped the armrest, paused for a few seconds, and said slowly, “Ah Yi.”

Ning Yi: “What is it, hubby?”

Gu Cheng: “Push slower.”

Ning Yi: “Oh, okay.”

Gu Corporation, Shareholder Meeting.

The expansive conference hall was enveloped in an oppressive chill, silencing everyone present.

Though the outside world and Gu Cheng’s loyal followers were buzzing with excitement, within the corporation, the atmosphere was more akin to a still, murky pond—with hidden undercurrents swirling beneath the surface.

Among them, Gu Zhisong’s face was visibly pale.

His pallor had not lifted since learning of Gu Cheng’s awakening.

Why now, just as I was about to finalize the collaboration with the Ding family?!

Even though Gu Cheng had been absent from decision-making for three years, no one in the room dared underestimate the man seated at the head of the long conference table.

Because, even after all this time, the empire that Gu Corporation guarded was still the one he had built.

Gu Cheng’s shares were his perpetual voice of authority.

As he slowly swept his gaze across the room, an almost tangible pressure settled over everyone present.

Then, he put on his headset, the mic positioned near his thin lips, and spoke coolly:

“Let’s begin. Speak.”

While Gu Cheng re-established his dominance in the business arena, Ning Yi waited outside, thoroughly entertained.

She didn’t feel much about Gu Cheng’s business manoeuvres—after all, she’d read the original plot. No suspense here! It would be an unbroken series of steamrolls, takedowns, and absolute dominance.

Gu Cheng = success = perfection.

Meanwhile, the assistants and secretaries in the executive office were busy typing away, occasionally sneaking glances at Eldest young master Gu’s wife.

Three years ago, countless women had vied to marry Eldest young master Gu, throwing themselves into the fray one after another. Now, three years later, this woman had secured the position of Mrs. Gu. With Eldest young master Gu’s triumphant return, she must be feeling proud and smug, right?

But after observing her for a while, they found Ning Yi sitting quietly, munching on the snacks prepared for guests in the executive office.

There wasn’t a hint of a hostess’s airs.

During the lengthy meeting, she scrolled through her phone and confirmed that her platform’s data was indeed skyrocketing. The developers—her “code monkeys”—were figuratively howling with excitement.

Delighted, she polished off three plates of snacks and drank a pot of hibiscus tea.

She looked utterly content.

When the heavy doors of the conference room finally opened, Gu Cheng was the first to enter, his brows still carrying a sharp, frosty air.

And then, his eyes landed on Ning Yi, who was chatting and laughing with his assistants.

“Wow, Madam, you’re amazing!”

“Oh, just a little bit.”

Apparently, Ning Yi had helped them solve a small bug on their computers, and now the atmosphere was light and harmonious.

Gu Cheng’s gaze swept over the male assistants, and they all instinctively shivered.

But Ning Yi seemed oblivious. She smiled warmly, exuding self-confidence: “With the pressure of working alongside my husband, how could I not constantly strive to improve myself, to keep up with his pace?”

Gu Cheng approached just in time to hear this sentence. “?”

Improve herself?

By lying down?

Ning Yi had already heard him come in a long time ago. She turned around with a bright smile. “Ah, hubby, you’re back!”

Gu Cheng regarded her performance coolly. “Having a good chat?”

Ning Yi replied bashfully, “Everyone admires you so much, so I just gave them a taste of my rainbow-level praise for you!”

Gu Cheng’s expression remained indifferent. “Heh.”

Ning Yi grabbed the wheelchair handles and chirped, “Now that you’re done, shall we grab some lunch?”

Gu Cheng’s lips curved slightly, his tone cool. “No.”

Assistant Zhou stepped forward respectfully. “The next meeting is scheduled to begin in five minutes, Eldest young master. The documents are ready for you.”

Ning Yi: “?”

The assistants, however, looked entirely unbothered. Some even had expressions of fond nostalgia and emotion. Yes, this level of intensity and efficiency—it’s unmistakably our Eldest young master Gu!

Ning Yi: ?? Don’t you people need to eat?

“By the way, Eldest young master, Wang Wu and his team are expected to arrive at headquarters at 1 p.m. today. They haven’t seen you in three years and are incredibly eager.”

Gu Cheng: “Hmm.”

Back when Gu Cheng first rose to power, danger lurked on all sides. Trusting no one, he personally handpicked and promoted his bodyguards, all of whom were unwaveringly loyal.

Over the past three years, the team had split into two factions: one, led by Song Yan, remained in City A, guarding his assets like the equestrian club; the other, including Wang Wu, returned to their hometowns, disheartened by his absence.

After just one shareholders’ meeting, Gu Cheng had fully reclaimed the dominance he once wielded.

And everyone had been vividly reminded of what it felt like to be under his control.

As Gu Cheng turned to head back to work, Ning Yi quickly grabbed his sleeve. “Hubby, you go ahead. I’ll check out the company cafeteria for you, okay?”

Gu Cheng’s lips curled into a mischievous smile. “No rush. Ah Yi and I will go together.”

Ning Yi: Come on! I’m not even hungry, but it’s lunchtime!

Ignoring her, Gu Cheng stepped back into the meeting room. Ning Yi stretched out her hand in protest. “Hubby!”

The heavy doors shut with a decisive thud.

The next moment.

Without warning, the two of them swapped bodies.

Gu Cheng, now in Ning Yi’s body, stood in the hallway, staring at the distant conference room.

“?”

Meanwhile, Ning Yi sat in the oversized conference room, staring at the rows of tense, fearful faces on either side of the long table.

Ning Yi: Uh… what?

“Hubby, I didn’t mean to switch us, I swear.”

Propping her hand on the table, Ning Yi put on a serious expression, staring intently at the Marketing Department executive who was sweating buckets while giving their report.

This time, she hadn’t even used her intent to trigger the swap.

—After all, she just liked lying down, not playing CEO!

Outside the room, Gu Cheng stood with his arms crossed, his expression dark and brooding.

He could tell this was another random body swap. He had considered the possibility before coming to the company, but he hadn’t expected the timing to be so unfortunate.

“And we can’t switch back right now,” Ning Yi added after trying several times.

Gu Cheng’s face remained stony.

Thankfully, this meeting wasn’t about any critical project proposals.

Gu Cheng rubbed his temples, his gaze cold. “Ah Yi, just don’t say anything.”

Ning Yi followed his instructions and stayed silent.

Throughout the meeting, “Eldest young master Gu” sat calmly at the head of the table, hands resting under her chin, her gaze steady and inscrutable.

And that alone was enough to terrify everyone presenting reports—leaving them trembling like leaves!

Sweat poured down their faces like waterfalls.

“Th-this year’s wilderness survival event will be held near the Biyu Cloud Villa developed by Gu Corporation. It should have a strong promotional impact. A-and although this is an event for the city’s elite circles, this year the famous film emperor Jiang Linyi will also be participating…”

The presenter suddenly remembered that Gu Cheng hadn’t interacted with the outside world in three years and might not know who Jiang Linyi was. Stammering, they added, “Of-of course, he’s not a veteran figure, but he has decent popularity right now.”

Ning Yi remembered as well.

This was a key event in the original storyline where the male and female leads developed romantic feelings for each other. In the wild, paths crossed, and their relationship heated up rapidly. Though why a film emperor would participate in such an event… Well, the answer was simple: the plot demanded it. [Dominating Film Emperor: Where Are You Running, Yuebao?]

Seeing Gu Cheng’s silence, the presenter nervously continued, “This year’s event theme is also quite special—it’s apocalyptic survival. The outdoor environment will simulate a post-apocalyptic world, with live-action NPCs playing zombies, lurking in the forests. It’s designed to appeal to younger participants…”

At the end of the explanation, a faint chuckle echoed from the end of the table.

Ning Yi: “Interesting.”

People voluntarily experiencing the apocalypse? Clearly, they’ve never struggled to survive one. They don’t know how good peaceful times are!

But her single laugh sent a wave of excitement through the room.

Eldest young master Gu found it interesting!

This project must be pursued further!

Clearly, those earlier proposals were garbage and not even worth Eldest young master Gu commenting on!

Eldest young master Gu’s return after three years still proved far beyond their level! The tide receded, and it turns out they were the ones swimming naked!

The executives looked at her with faces full of awe and admiration.

They started clapping.

Ning Yi, seeing their expressions, could only pretend to look composed.

Well… this CEO thing does have its perks. Feels kinda nice.

The meeting continued, and when it came to the internet sector, a screen projection suddenly displayed CMore.

“This platform targets a unique demographic—the elite circles of high society. It has risen rapidly and shows strong growth potential. Investors in the industry are already keeping an eye on it. We’ve tried reaching out to them, but their founder remains mysterious and doesn’t show up publicly…”

Ning Yi kept her face serious.

This time, genuinely serious.

After the presenter finished and stood nervously awaiting her response, they suddenly saw “Eldest young master Gu” smile faintly.

Ning Yi: “Not bad.”

Using her husband’s mouth to praise herself? Why not!

Praising his greatest benefactor? Totally justified!!

The room: “!!!”

Eldest young master Gu actually used the phrase “not bad” to compliment something!

What weight those words carried!

If Eldest young master recognized CMore’s potential, its future was undeniably bright!

As soon as her words landed, the room was filled with the furious clatter of keyboards, and everyone’s expressions were brimming with enthusiasm and resolve.

Meanwhile, Ning Yi, throughout the entire meeting, had done nothing but rest her chin on her hands and say a total of four words.

Ning Yi: “…”

To be fair.

Being the boss…

It feels so good! Such a rush!

By the time the meeting ended, Ning Yi had fully adapted to her role as CEO.

She maintained her composed demeanour as she went through the sea of reverent faces, exuding an air of authority. Meanwhile, in her mind, she cheerfully called out to Gu Cheng:

“Hubby~ Where are you~? Come push my wheelchair~!”

Gu Cheng: “…”

He was in the archives, reading documents, and pretending not to hear her.

“Hubby, I pushed you in when we came. If you don’t push me now, people will think I don’t love you!”

“Hubby! Hubby? Why are you ignoring your darling?”

“Hubby, do you not love me anymore?”

Gu Cheng silently turned another page in the file.

Ignoring her signal was the only freedom he had in their body-swapping dynamic.

When Gu Cheng finally stepped out of the archives, he noticed a group of Gu family relatives huddled in a corner, whispering among themselves.

Gu Zhisong had been little more than a pawn sent out today, but many other restless minds were still lurking in the shadows. The Gu family’s assets were simply too tempting a pie. Ever since Gu Cheng woke up, the company’s stock prices had skyrocketed, and the immense potential profits left no one at ease.

As Gu Cheng walked past, no one paid attention to him since he was in Ning Yi’s body.

And suddenly, a thought struck him. Ning Yi herself probably hadn’t realized it yet, but this body-swapping could become a powerful, hidden tool in his corporate battles.

She used him; he could use her too.

Gu Cheng’s eyes narrowed slightly.

He was already cold and ruthless by nature, and there was no real emotion between them. Mutual exploitation was the most efficient arrangement.

This realization lifted his mood, dispelling some of the gloom caused by being bound by the swap’s restrictions. His steps grew more leisurely and unhurried.

“Where are you?” Gu Cheng asked Ning Yi in a calm tone.

It took a few seconds for her to respond. “In your office.”

Her voice sounded both cheerful and indulgent. “I have eight assistants surrounding me. It’s amazing!”

Gu Cheng: “…” All my assistants are men.

For the first time today, Eldest young master Gu’s composed pace quickened.

At that moment, Ning Yi was reclining in Gu Cheng’s executive chair, feeling utterly euphoric.

Gu Cheng’s office occupied an entire floor, offering the city’s best views and equipped with a rest area that rivalled a five-star hotel. Inside were a king-sized bed, a private bathroom, and a walk-in closet.

When she worked, eight elite, handsome assistants surrounded her—like having eight brains to delegate to!

And they all admired her, hanging on her every word!

All Ning Yi had to do was sit back with an inscrutable expression, and they would automatically assume she was contemplating some major strategic policy.

Meanwhile, outside, countless people stood ready to protect her and serve her at any moment.

Ning Yi: This is the life.

When Gu Cheng reached his office and prepared to push open the door with an impassive expression, he was suddenly stopped.

Wang Wu had just arrived that afternoon and immediately activated high-security protocols, barring any suspicious individuals from approaching the office.

However, having spent the past three years in his hometown, Wang Wu didn’t know Eldest young master Gu had a wife, nor did he recognize Ning Yi.

Blocking the “woman” in front of him, Wang Wu frowned and demanded, “Who are you!?”

Gu Cheng coldly stared at him.

Wang Wu, seeing the “woman” was stunningly beautiful, immediately assumed she was just another one of the many women who used to throw themselves at Eldest young master Gu in the past.

In the past, every day, wealthy socialites and heiresses would find various excuses to get close to Eldest young master Gu. And every time, Eldest young master Gu would ensure they didn’t get anywhere near him.

Now that Eldest young master had finally woken up after three years, his security team was determined not to let any mishaps occur again.

Wang Wu: “Do you have an appointment? No? Then step back! Our Eldest young master just woke up—don’t get too close!”

Gu Cheng: “…”

Gu Cheng held back his frustration and said, “I…”

For the first time in nearly thirty years, Eldest young master Gu found himself needing an appointment to see himself.

The absurdity left him speechless.

Seeing him falter, Wang Wu and his team of subordinates closed in. “What ‘I’? Move along—”

Just then, a gentle voice drifted out from the office.

Gentle enough to sound completely unlike Eldest young master Gu.

“It’s alright, Wang Wu. Let them in.”

Gu Cheng: “…”

Inside the office, Ning Yi was reclining in Gu Cheng’s executive chair, her head tilted, a smirk playing on her lips.

What a flex.*

And yet, not a single person around her thought she was showing off!

Assistant: “Eldest young master’s grace is unmatched!”

Secretary: “As expected of Eldest young master!”

Ning Yi waved her hand with a faint smile, her expression carrying three parts indifference, three parts mockery, and three parts casual detachment.

Outside, Wang Wu, hearing her “approval,” reluctantly stepped aside. “Alright, if Eldest young master says you can go in, then go ahead.”

Gu Cheng stood outside his own office. “…”

Perfect.

None of you should bother coming to work anymore.
