LLASBWUH Chapter 26

Seduced Him?

Simple and direct seduction! Genuinely effective healing!

Ning Yi was supremely confident in her looks, her body, and her charm.

If her tactics failed, she was sure the problem lay with her husband (confirmed).

Her arm disobediently looped around Gu Cheng’s neck, half her body leaning against his. Her bright eyes carried a soft curve, alluring and captivating.

“Hu~sband~” Her voice barely twisted, sweet as honey.

Gu Cheng had never been this close to anyone.

Because no one dared to get this close.

No one except Ning Yi.

He felt his neurons quickly registering her every movement, with an alarming tendency to respond. The uncontrollable nature of it was foreign to him, triggering his self-defence mechanism.

—He couldn’t let this woman affect him.

Looking at the person sitting in his arms, Gu Cheng’s whole body tensed, his voice steady and devoid of any emotion.

He even added a trace of mockery. “What is it, Ah Yi? Trying to crush me to death?”

Ning Yi: “?”

Ning Yi: What the heck, Gu Cheng?! Are you calling me heavy?!

You’re a dog!

Faced with such a delectable beauty, and all you can think about is weight?!

Truly, a dog’s mouth can’t spit ivory!

A flush of anger spread across Ning Yi’s fair face, but it only made her look more vibrant.

Gu Cheng subconsciously rubbed his fingertips, brushing against the beads on her dress.

They were cold.

His fingertips were burning.

Fortunately, Ning Yi had made a small fortune tonight, so she quickly regained her composure.

She flashed him a charming smile and swayed her arms around his neck. “Husband, how could you say that about me?”

Ning Yi’s seduction was natural and unpretentious. She might as well have written “I’m seducing you” on her face.

Her breath brushed against Gu Cheng’s Adam’s apple, sending an uncontrollable tingling sensation down his neck.

“What exactly are you trying to do?” Gu Cheng’s voice stretched taut, like a drawn bowstring.

Truthfully, Ning Yi didn’t know what more she could do. She couldn’t exactly strip down, could she?

Instead, she puckered her lips at the man’s impossibly handsome face—the one no one dared to offend.

“Husband, give me a kiss.”

Her glossy red lips parted slightly, carrying a faint, indescribable fragrance. At this moment, they were so close that even their breaths tangled together, the air thick with intimacy.

Her neckline dipped slightly, her fair skin like a piece of jade, radiating an alluring charm. She thought to herself—I am a total stunner.

Gu Cheng narrowed his eyes, summoning his famed self-control.

Then he forced himself to think darkly about the implications of her actions.

Amid the sea of thoughts, one floated to the surface—Is Ning Yi testing something?

Perhaps she suspected something and was using this opportunity to experiment.

For instance, whether a kiss could trigger body-swapping.

But Gu Cheng would never allow that.

Only when he was in complete control of the situation would he explore the mechanics of physical contact and body-swapping. Ning Yi mustn’t take the lead.

Yet she was like a mischievous sprite, never still for even a second.

“Hu~sband~”

“Hu~sband, hu~sband~”

Gu Cheng’s breathing grew hot, his pupils darkening bit by bit, like a deep sea concealing an impending storm.

Ning Yi: Excellent, he’s almost at his limit!

At this level of seduction, there were only two possible outcomes—

1. Gu Cheng was completely seduced.

2. Gu Cheng was utterly disgusted.

Remembering that her goal was to make him stand up, she decided to add some verbal prodding.

“Well, husband, are you satisfied with everything you see?”

“Don’t you want to just… ravage me? Or will you admit that my little tricks have successfully seduced you?”

Gu Cheng narrowed his eyes, a dark smile curling his lips.

He raised his arm, forming a cage that slowly enveloped her in his embrace.

“Ah Yi, you really are…”

The muscles of his arm tensed, each line sharp and defined, exuding danger. Just as he felt an uncontrollable reaction brewing—

Ning Yi: Time for the final push!

The seductive mermaid abruptly rose from his lap, her movements so swift and decisive that she seemed like a heartless scoundrel pulling away without remorse.

Gu Cheng: “?”

Ning Yi twirled the hem of her sultry, beautiful dress and, with the voice of a temptress from a spider’s lair, teased him, “Come on, hubby~ Come and catch me~”

Hurry, stand up already!

She dashed to the door, her movements graceful and enticing. With a playful peek from behind the door, she sang, “Hubby, come catch me~”

Her silver-bell-like laughter echoed in the hallway.

Gu Cheng: “…”

He remained seated, unmoving, his expression cold. “Catch you? I’m not sick.”

Ning Yi, full of encouragement, beamed. “Really? If you’re not sick, then show me—walk a few steps?”

Gu Cheng: “?”

Ning Yi, suddenly fired up, exclaimed passionately, “Come on! Don’t be afraid of falling! I’ll catch you!”

Gu Cheng was silent for two seconds. Then, to his own disbelief, he chuckled in frustration.

His face remained stoic as he suppressed his rising irritation, calming himself bit by bit.

So, this woman was doing all this… just to help him recover his legs.

His gaze briefly swept over his lower half before he looked back at her, his expression restrained and clear. “No need. You—”

Ning Yi: ?! Calm already? Still not taking the bait?

Fearing she hadn’t pushed him hard enough, she yanked the door open with a flourish, flashed a seductive smile, and dashed into the hallway, her dress swirling behind her—

Only to collide with the stunned gazes of Bodyguards One, Two, and Three, and Assistants One and Two.

Ning Yi: “…”

Lowering her dress hem slowly, she muttered, “Uh… this is just… for fun. Haha. For fun.”

She still managed to hold onto a sliver of dignity.

The bodyguards and assistants immediately put on looks of understanding.

In fact, they seemed a little envious.

—What a beautiful love story between Young Master Gu and his wife!

They bowed deeply, retreating hastily. “Madam, please continue, continue!”

From inside the room came Gu Cheng’s dark, irritated voice: “—Get back in here.”

The group immediately retreated further.

“Young Master, take care of your health!”

“Yes, please take care of your health!”

Gu Cheng: “…”

“Looks like the kids are getting along well,” Song Lan remarked, smiling as she sipped tea with Elder Gu in the tea room. The commotion from the other building hadn’t gone unnoticed, and her expression softened with amusement.

This jewellery event had exceeded all expectations, thanks in no small part to Ning Yi. With her responsibilities momentarily eased, Song Lan found herself growing increasingly fond of her daughter-in-law.

“Now that I think about it, Ning Yi truly is a delightful surprise for our family,” she said warmly.

“I don’t think there’s any need for further tests. This child is clearly committed to standing by Ah Cheng’s side,” she continued. “Her character and patience are impeccable.”

Elder Gu chuckled as he cradled his teacup. “I doubt Gu Cheng will stay cold-hearted forever.”

He had met many people in his lifetime, but Ning Yi was undeniably one of a kind. Even someone like Gu Cheng might struggle to resist her.

“Let’s wait and see,” he said with a knowing smile, as he and Song Lan envisioned a brighter future for their family.

Meanwhile, in the other building—

“Hubby!”

“Are you seriously not up to the task anymore?”

Gu Cheng: “Shut up! Go to sleep.”

Expressionless, he climbed into bed and lay down.

There was no way, absolutely no way, he’d ever fall for this flamboyant woman.

The next day.

The entire Gu Corporation knew one thing: Young Master Gu was in a terrible mood.

He was usually cold, but today, amidst his icy demeanour, there was an inexplicable hint of irritability.

The assistants and bodyguards tread carefully, afraid to make even the slightest mistake.

In private, they exchanged glances.

The Young Master’s mood… could it be frustration from unmet desires?!

Gu Cheng’s aura was always intimidating, but today it was suffocating oppressive. Wherever he went in the company, people lowered their heads, not daring to meet his gaze.

Once he entered the CEO’s office, he stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, surveying his empire with a cold smirk.

Some things, it seemed, were due for reckoning.

Since the day that top-tier jadeite was revealed during the stone gambling event, Gu Zhisong and his cohorts had sensed trouble.

Sure enough, as soon as Gu Cheng returned to the company, he made bold moves.

The entire corporation was shaken to its core.

First, Gu Zhisong was demoted under the guise of a promotion, reassigned to a less critical position. Along with him, ten others were reshuffled—some involved in the stone gambling, others seemingly unrelated, leaving everyone unable to discern Gu Cheng’s strategy.

In one decisive sweep, the hierarchy was completely restructured.

The atmosphere within the company was tense, with everyone speculating about Gu Cheng’s plans.

Employees were thrilled—this was the Young Master they admired! Surely, he was paving the way for an even brighter future for the Gu Group!

Meanwhile, the few dissenters in the shadows could only gnash their teeth.

Gu Zhisong didn’t dare show any dissatisfaction. He knew that even the slightest misstep could lead to investigations that would expose him and everyone backing him.

So, he had no choice but to accept his reassignment quietly, though his heart burned with resentment.

Yet, he couldn’t fathom how Ning Yi, of all people, managed to pick a stone that revealed such exceptional jadeite.

Could Gu Cheng’s luck rub off on those around him too?

The thought made Gu Zhisong bitterly jealous for half the day.

The only consolation was that while he was side-lined, Ning Yi—the ticking time bomb—remained by Gu Cheng’s side.

As long as they could manipulate Ning Yi, they believed they could eventually bring Gu Cheng down. Once she outlived her usefulness, they’d simply hand over the transfer records between her and Gu Cheng.

Gu Zhisong chuckled darkly. He didn’t care about Ning Yi’s fate at all.

Still, her glowing reception at the recent jewellery event was a problem—it undermined their efforts to mentally wear her down.

She needed to be reminded that she was just a useless ornament.

Gu Cheng, having dealt with the smaller players, hadn’t yet moved against the bigger tiger.

The East side development project, which Gu Zhisong had tried to push forward with the Ding family, was halted in its tracks by Gu Cheng’s timely intervention. Now, it was progressing according to his vision.

This lucrative venture had already attracted other savvy business partners.

The industry was abuzz—Gu Cheng’s return was unstoppable.

Even from the stone gambling event, it was evident—he was a true commercial emperor, born with the luck of a king.

Who wouldn’t want to cling to his coattails?

In the conference room, a major business negotiation led by Gu Cheng had just concluded. The tense atmosphere gradually eased.

President Wang, one of the collaborators, glanced at Gu Cheng’s sharp, handsome face and couldn’t help but gossip a little.

“I heard that at the recent jewellery event, Young Master Gu revealed an invaluable piece of jadeite with exceptional quality,” he said, his tone filled with curiosity.

The story had already gone viral the night before.

Though there was another trending topic about a famous actor spending 8 million to impress a beauty, it couldn’t compete with the sensation of this man before them.

Experts had even analysed the jadeite in videos, concluding it was priceless. The internet was abuzz, marvelling at how Gu Cheng had casually given away such a treasure.

Gu Cheng capped his pen and replied indifferently, “My wife was the one who chose it.”

Behind him, his assistant, Zhou, quickly took the pen and stepped back, smiling to himself.

Another moment of sweetness.

He really loves her—mentioning her at every opportunity!

Gu Cheng, oblivious to his assistant’s thoughts, had no intention of actually praising Ning Yi. His mention of her was a deliberate show of affection within the Gu Group—a calculated move.

For Gu Cheng, being invulnerable came with its risks. An overly rigid front could break under pressure—a lesson he had learned from three painful years. Now, he preferred to craft a “weakness” for himself, one entirely within his control.

In truth, he would never allow anyone to become his Achilles’ heel.

President Wang, catching on, quickly offered praise. “Ah, Young Master Gu’s wife—indeed, indeed! She’s stunningly beautiful. I saw photos from that day, and her figure is simply…”

Before he could finish, he noticed Gu Cheng’s expression had turned icy, his dark pupils gleaming like sharp blades.

The oppressive air was so suffocating that President Wang swallowed the rest of his words.

“Thank you for the compliment,” Gu Cheng said flatly. “I’ll pass it along.” Of course, he wouldn’t.

“Al-alright,” President Wang stammered, knowing full well that Gu Cheng wouldn’t actually convey the thanks.

Despite his outwardly polite words, there wasn’t even a trace of gratitude in his tone!

It wasn’t until Gu Cheng had left that President Wang wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.

Gu Cheng’s assistant, Zhou, stepped forward a moment later and gave a polite bow. “Apologies, President Wang. Our Young Master is rather particular about this sort of thing.”

President Wang quickly laughed it off. “No, no, of course not.”

But inwardly, he was panicking. Who would dare actually expect Gu Cheng to apologize? Most were already scrambling to curry favour with him as it was!

Still, he couldn’t help but marvel—

Who would’ve thought that someone as composed as Gu Cheng could actually get jealous?!

Gu Cheng sat coldly in the car.

Of course, he wasn’t jealous.

He knew he was merely orchestrating a misunderstanding for his own purposes.

After leaving the company, Gu Cheng returned to the Gu family estate.

As he approached the separate building where his quarters were, the events of the previous night—Ning Yi sitting on his lap and teasing him—flashed through his mind. His face instantly darkened.

But when he entered his room, Ning Yi was nowhere to be found. He casually stopped a passing maid to ask.

“Where is she?”

The maid, struck by the fact that the Young Master’s first question upon returning home was about his wife, looked utterly moved by their supposed romance.

Gu Cheng: ?

What’s wrong with these people?

The maid hesitated before replying, “Young Master, Madam seems to be in the main hall, sitting on the sofa and watching a livestream.”

Gu Cheng frowned. A livestream? Whose?

About half an hour earlier, Ning Yi had entered Wander’s livestream. It was his usual gaming broadcast time, and today’s stream was particularly lively for two reasons.

Wander, a renowned esports player, wasn’t part of the professional league but specialized in a variety of games he excelled at. His popularity had always been high. This time, his club was set to participate in next week’s Internet Innovation Summit in S City, where he would perform in a celebrity match.

Fans were thrilled—Wander rarely attended offline events, and his announcement of a live appearance had sent them into a frenzy. Rumours had long circulated about him being a “masked heartthrob,” and everyone was eager to see his face in person.

The second reason for the buzz was Wander’s extravagant display at the recent jewellery event. His lavish gift-giving and purchase of a hard-to-sell jade piece had fans and onlookers speculating about the identity of the “friend” he mentioned.

Ning Yi had a good impression of this game streamer.

After all, he was generous—spending freely at the jewellery event, buying the unsellable jade, and gifting her significant income in the process.

Not to mention, his popularity boost had helped propel the CMore streaming platform to new heights.

Anyone who helps me make money is my buddy! Ning Yi thought. Time to repay his kindness with some gifts!

Soon, fans and viewers noticed her presence in the chat.

[Wander! The big boss 01 is here throwing gifts again, hahahaha!]

[Boss, good afternoon! Have you eaten yet?]

[What if… we dream of Ning Jie sending gifts too?]

[Wishful thinking, hahaha.]

Ning Yi: Heh. Surprise!

On the other side of the screen, the faint blue glow of a mechanical keyboard backlight reflected on Wander’s face. When he saw the name climbing into the top three on the gift leader board, a faint smile tugged at his lips.

You’re here.

Today, Wander was playing a zombie game.

The game’s first-person perspective offered an immersive experience, with impressively realistic graphics. Zombies would often leap out of unexpected corners, startling the audience.

Wander, however, remained unfazed, as if these jump scares were routine.

He seamlessly executed precise headshots while simultaneously glancing at viewer comments and occasionally responding to questions.

“Hmm? My friend?”

Ning Yi, having fulfilled her repayment by sending gifts, was about to leave the stream when his voice caught her attention.

The slightly distorted sound carried through the microphone and network cables, but there was something oddly familiar about it.

Fans in the chat were abuzz:

[Who’s the beautiful friend from the jewellery event?]

[Reminder to Wander: watch your words or risk getting banned by the real big boss (doge).]

Curious, Ning Yi decided to stay a little longer.

Wander continued blasting zombies, his tone casual as he spoke: “That friend of mine… we’ve known each other for many years. Back then, life was tough—no food, no drinks—not like now when you can have whatever you want.”

[Who would’ve thought Wander had such a tough past?]

[Did that beautiful friend of his go through the same hardships?]

[What kind of environment was that?]

The man behind the screen smirked mischievously.

“Our environment back then—” Wander chuckled, “—was pretty much like this zombie game.”

Ning Yi: “?”

Is he serious?

The chat erupted in laughter:

[Haha, a bit exaggerated, don’t you think?]

[The legendary man who returned from the apocalypse, making jokes about his own lore? Classic.]

[So, was that friend someone Wander liked during those tough times?]

Wander didn’t answer directly.

“She was beautiful back then too, but not as beautiful as she is now.”

In those days, though, nobody cared about beauty. Everyone was too gaunt and pale from hunger to notice such things. Simply looking presentable was already an accomplishment.

When they met again, she was dazzling on the runway, shining brightly in this absurd, messed-up world.

Unfortunately…

She was already married.

Ning Yi rubbed her chin, finding his words increasingly suspicious.

She hadn’t planned on spending too much money on a male streamer—it felt too much like secretly supporting another man behind her husband’s back. But as a hidden boss, she needed to maintain her image! It wouldn’t do to hang around in the stream and not contribute. Before she knew it, she had sent enough gifts to claim the top spot on Wander’s leader board.

The man noticed the leader board update, where “01” had risen to first place. He smiled faintly.

Little 01.

He leaned into the mic, his tone light and teasing. “Back then, everyone drank the same thing, but I always made sure she got grape-flavoured. The others only had plain.”

The chat exploded:

[OMG, that’s so sweet!]

[Admit it—you were in love with that friend! I’m so jealous!]

Ning Yi: What the heck.

What the heck, what the heck, what the heck.

By this point, Ning Yi had figured it out.

She never expected this!

Captain Wander, you’re here too?!

In this brainless romantic world, there was actually someone else like her—a transmigrator! Based on his tone, Wander had clearly recognized her a long time ago, while she was only realizing it now.

A fellow traveller! Ning Yi thought, excited.

Maybe they could meet at the summit in S City?

As she pondered how to connect with Wander, a cold voice suddenly came from behind her.

“Ning Yi, who are you watching?”

Crap! She’d been so absorbed in her shock that she hadn’t noticed the sound of the wheelchair approaching.

Gu Cheng had been behind her for who knows how long.

“You’re tipping a male streamer?” He smirked coldly.

Caught red-handed tipping a male streamer, Ning Yi inexplicably felt a pang of guilt.

“I was just casually watching, hubby!” she said, quickly exiting the livestream. She turned to him with a wide-eyed, innocent look, her feet playfully swinging, as if saying, “I wasn’t doing anything wrong, I swear!”

Her loose nightgown had slipped just above her knees, the same part of her legs that had brushed against Gu Cheng the night before. Now, it swayed restlessly in his line of sight.

Unbidden, Gu Cheng recalled the vivid sensations from last night—the warmth of her weight on his lap, the feel of her soft skin against his leg.

A shadow passed over his gaze. His expression remained impassive as he asked, “What trick are you playing this time?”

Trying to distract him with seduction?

It wouldn’t work.

Ning Yi: ? Bro, I’m just lounging here.

But Gu Cheng suddenly realized something. There was no one else around. He didn’t need to pretend to care about Ning Yi.

So, with a cold glance, he turned his wheelchair. “Do whatever you want. I don’t mind.”

Ning Yi immediately followed up with a stream of flattery: “Hubby, you’re the best! I knew someone as magnanimous as you wouldn’t mind such trivial things. Don’t worry—my heart belongs only to you!”

Gu Cheng hadn’t gone far when a very practical question stopped him.

Turning the wheelchair back around, he asked, “Ning Yi, where did you get the money?”

Although she owned a priceless jadeite, a multi-million-dollar villa, and a black card gifted by Song Lan, none of these assets were liquid. She couldn’t exactly cash them in for tipping male streamers.

So where did the money come from?

All Ning Yi did all day was lie around, sleep, and play games. Did she have some income source he didn’t know about?

Ning Yi: ^_^

Although Ning Yi had numerous ways to earn money, she absolutely couldn’t let Gu Cheng find out!

After all, this man was cunning and calculating—the most formidable business genius in the entire story. Ning Yi only wanted to enjoy the shade under his tree, not become one of his pawns.

That’s why she had no intention of revealing her true identity during the upcoming trip to S City.

A true boss always keeps a hidden identity ready for flexing.

^_^ Hehe.

Fortunately, as a tech-savvy pro, her financial management was highly advanced and discreet. Even if Gu Cheng sent someone to investigate, unless they were as skilled as she was, they wouldn’t find anything.

Ning Yi innocently fiddled with her fingers. “It’s just a few hundred bucks. I’ve got that much to spare.”

Gu Cheng narrowed his eyes slightly, clearly unconvinced.

Luckily, he hadn’t caught which account she’d used or who the recipient of her tips was.

With a bright smile, Ning Yi pushed his wheelchair toward the dining room, unleashing a torrent of rainbow-like flattery on him along the way. Her relentless compliments eventually caused him to lose his composure.

“Enough. Stop talking, okay?”

He didn’t ask further, but he could always investigate later.

“Sure thing, my dear hubby~”

Not that he’d find anything.

—Each harbouring their own schemes.

At the entrance to the dining hall, they ran into Song Lan.

“Ning Yi, perfect timing. Come with me to the Wen family’s banquet,” Song Lan said.

Ning Yi tilted her head. “The Wen family?”

Wen Zheli had been sulking for days since the jewellery event.

Seeing the news about Gu Cheng gifting his wife a priceless jadeite piece nearly caused her to spiral into a breakdown like Ding Ziyue.

Still, Wen Zheli refused to believe it. She was convinced the Gu Cheng she knew wouldn’t lose his head over a pretty face. She decided to try again.

Meanwhile, since the jewellery event’s runway show, Ning Yi had become Song Lan’s muse. To Song Lan, Ning Yi was like a treasure—someone she was proud to showcase wherever she went.

Because this invitation came from the Wen family, Song Lan treated it with extra care. Decades of living in high society had taught her to recognize subtle intentions. The Wen family’s interest in strengthening ties with the Gu family was obvious. While it wouldn’t do to snub an old family friend, bringing Ning Yi along would serve as a clear signal of Gu Cheng’s marital status.

“They’ve hired a top chef for the evening. Ning Yi, you can compare their food to ours,” Song Lan said.

“Oh, ours is definitely better!” Ning Yi replied sweetly.

After all, the Gu family kitchen pampered Ning Yi daily with special meals, a significant source of her laid-back happiness.

Still, sampling other chefs’ dishes sounded appealing!

Ning Yi: Sure thing! I’m ready to eat everywhere!

The Wen family’s banquet had a limited guest list, but the entire elite circle knew Wen Zheli would invite Gu Cheng. Everyone was waiting to see how it would unfold.

Gu Cheng’s extravagant gift to Ning Yi had dominated trending searches for a day, even overshadowing the news of a movie star buying a diamond for Ding Ziyue.

[Gu Cheng must have a reason for this move!]

[There’s no way it’s because he adores Ning Yi. Come on, we all know she’s not worthy, and Gu Cheng isn’t the type to dote on anyone.]

[Exactly! Not everyone can be as lucky as Yue Yue.]

[I’m jealous, but I’m also waiting for the day Ning Yi’s “pampering” illusion is shattered!]

Ding Ziyue, watching the group chat, felt her frayed nerves begin to mend.

Yes, in the chapters to come, Gu Cheng would keep reappearing in her world. How could that not mean he cared about her?

As for Jiang Linyi, he would overcome all obstacles to spoil her endlessly. Ning Yi’s moment of glory was fleeting at best.

In this world, there was only one true pampered heroine—Ding Ziyue.

But while others obsessed over “pampering,” Ning Yi’s thoughts remained simple and pure: What’s for dinner?

“Hubby~ Are you really not coming?” Ning Yi asked.

Gu Cheng replied with a cold face, “No.”

He was deep in thought, wondering whether publicly feigning affection for Ning Yi was the right decision.

Gu Cheng rarely doubted his strategies, but Ning Yi was a dangerous variable. Not just because of their ability to swap bodies, but for other uncontrollable reasons.

Since the affection was fake, he needed to keep it perfectly measured.

She mustn’t grow complacent.

Ning Yi: Fine, suit yourself. He barely ate anything anyway, living like some ascetic monk.

Humming happily, she skipped off toward Song Lan.

But after just a few steps, she stopped suddenly, a thought crossing her mind.

She hesitated, then bounced back with a coy expression.

“Hubby.” She looked at Gu Cheng earnestly.

Still lost in thought, he asked coldly, “What is it?”

With a look of regret, Ning Yi sighed. “Hubby, I’m sorry, but I didn’t get pregnant with your child.”

Gu Cheng’s thoughts screeched to a halt. “?”

He almost choked.

What had they done to result in pregnancy?

Ning Yi’s tone was filled with genuine disappointment. “That night… we tried so hard…!”

The passing maids: “?!!”

The arriving assistant: “?!!!!”

You… you two?!

They fled the scene faster than ever, spreading the rumour like wildfire.

Gu Cheng’s cold expression wavered, his breathing slow and heavy. “Ning Yi, what exactly are you trying to say?”

“I mean,” Ning Yi continued, blushing, “it’s that time of the month again.”

“?”

Looking bashful, she held up a sanitary pad between two fingers.

“Hubby, I didn’t get pregnant, and now I’ve got cramps again ^3^.”

Gu Cheng: “…”

They locked eyes, Ning Yi blinking innocently.

Expressionless, Gu Cheng leaned back and said, “Then hurry up and deal with it.”

So much chatter over a simple matter.
