Behave Yourself!!
“Hubby, don’t be mad!”
“If it hurts, that means you’re regaining sensation! Isn’t that a good thing, Q3Q?”
Gu Cheng’s expression remained cold as he looked at the part she’d “injured.” Thankfully, there was no broken skin—just some overenthusiastic scrubbing.
Even though he couldn’t feel it now, just imagining it made him wince.
And while it seemed like his dormant sensations were starting to come back, he could only hope it wasn’t permanently damaged. If they could switch back, he’d check it himself, but for now—never mind.
Ning Yi, despite having no shame when it came to human anatomy, genuinely didn’t understand how sensitive that area was. She was just trying to help her hubby stay clean! What bad intentions could she possibly have?
“Don’t be angry, hubby,” she pouted, looking thoroughly pitiful. “I’m hurting too, sob sob sob.”
Gu Cheng closed his eyes, exhaling through his nose. Fine.
He grabbed the showerhead, face indifferent. “I’ll handle it.”
Ning Yi wasn’t shy at all, lying back obediently.
Although the process was entirely hygienic, it was undeniably a strange sensation—realistically feeling someone else’s body.
Ning Yi giggled, “Hehe.”
Gu Cheng: “What’s funny?”
Ning Yi: “It tickles a little.”
“…”
Gu Cheng then demonstrated the proper, gentle method for cleaning that particular area.
At first, Ning Yi was casually lying there, but midway, her eyes snapped open.
Gu Cheng glanced down at her, “What now?”
Her face was flushed as she shook her head. Not out of embarrassment, but—
“So this is what it feels like!”
She thought it was fascinating!
Because their bodies hadn’t switched back, even a simple task like bathing had become a drawn-out ordeal.
By the time both were finally in bed, it was already late at night.
Gu Cheng lay with his eyes closed, though it was unclear whether he was asleep.
Ning Yi, however, was wide awake.
She pulled out her phone to scroll, and the first thing that popped up on CMore’s trending page was a post about Ding Ziyue.
Every platform seemed to be buzzing with her news.
#Famous Actor Jiang Linyi Buys Love Nest for Girlfriend#
#Ding Ziyue Is the Girl Everyone Wants to Be#
#How Expensive Is S City’s East side development project Per Square Meter?#
Netizens marvelled at Jiang Linyi’s generosity, fawning over how he must truly adore Ding Ziyue.
Others couldn’t help but be curious about just how luxurious this “love nest” had to be to suit a princess like her. A bit of research revealed it was part of a development by Gu Cheng’s company from a few years back.
Naturally, this shifted the spotlight back to Gu Cheng himself—
[I’m sorry, but I still stan Young Master Gu the most—forever my business emperor.]
[I can’t even fathom how rich Gu Cheng is.]
[With that in mind, the person I most want to be is still Ning Yi. Sob sob sob.]
Ding Ziyue was riding high, basking in the glory of her spotlight moment.
Finally, everything was unfolding just as it had in her dreams. She was elated!
She even posted a humblebrag on CMore:
[@Ding Ziyue: I didn’t mean to take up public attention. Having these pictures published has caused a bit of trouble for Linyi-ge too. Please don’t overly focus on our private lives. Love you all~ 💕 [photo][photo]]
Netizens were quick to praise her tactfulness and discretion. Some even remarked that a good girl like Ding Ziyue was indeed a perfect match for their “Linyi-ge.”
[Ziyue has been my favorite since CMore’s early days!]
[Give us more sweetness! Also, CMore now shows IP locations. Ziyue and Linyi are still in S City! Are they planning to attend the esports summit? Linyi-ge loves Wander so much!]
[Ahhh, I’m camping out for this summit!]
…
Ning Yi read through the posts, then, out of habit, gave Ding Ziyue’s update a like.
Haha ^_^ Encouragement awarded.
[OMG, 01-sama just liked Ziyue’s post again!]
[They’re still awake at this hour!!!]
Ning Yi: “.”
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to sleep!
Ning Yi discreetly touched herself, feeling the lingering sting.
In her mind, she sighed and tried to console the soreness: “Heal up quickly, alright? I promise, I won’t do it like that next time.”
Just as she finished comforting herself, a cold, frosty voice echoed in her mind.
——“Ning Yi.”
So he hadn’t been sleeping at all, even though his eyes were closed.
Gu Cheng said, “Don’t touch randomly.”
Ning Yi obediently replied, “Okay.”
*Fine, fine. I know you’re precious.*
Meanwhile, on the other side, Ding Ziyue, filled with admiration for the mysterious “01,” was over the moon after they liked her post again. It was the perfect ending to a day that already felt like a dream.
*Ah~ This blessed life of being adored!*
—
Morning arrived.
When Gu Cheng opened his eyes, the first thing he felt was a weight on his abdomen.
Looking down, he saw his arm resting on Ning Yi’s stomach. She had been sleeping restlessly in his body, sprawling and twisting around. Now that his body could move again, she had reverted to her true chaotic self.
Gu Cheng silently observed for a few seconds, then decided to leave things as they were.
One thing was clear: after a full night, their bodies still hadn’t switched back. It had now been over ten hours, the longest duration since their body-switching began—and there was no sign of it stopping.
Gu Cheng frowned slightly, thinking: If this doesn’t resolve itself, will we have to live in each other’s bodies for a day? Two days? A month? Or even longer?
His head throbbed at the thought.
He glanced down again at Ning Yi, who was fast asleep, her arm draped across him in a semi-embrace.
An idea flickered across his mind.
If intent no longer influenced the switch, could physical contact make a difference?
Although holding hands hadn’t worked before, perhaps…more intimate contact might grant higher “permissions”?
For example…a hug?
Gu Cheng rationalized: This is purely for problem-solving purposes, nothing emotional.
He cautiously extended his hand, intertwining his fingers with Ning Yi’s. Nothing happened.
Pausing for a moment, he slowly moved his arm toward her, intending to complete the half-embrace.
Just as he was about to pull her close, Ning Yi’s voice broke the silence.
“Hubby, what are you doing?”
Her eyes were open, watching him curiously.
Gu Cheng froze: “.”
On the rose-petal-covered bed, under soft pink drapes, the two of them stared at each other silently.
After a few moments, Ning Yi spread her arms wide and teasingly said, “Do you want to hug me? Come on, do it! Harder! Don’t be shy!”
“I wasn’t,” Gu Cheng retracted his arm slowly, his voice calm. “Don’t misunderstand.”
Ning Yi, now fully awake, was ready to stir up mischief. “Come on, hubby~ Hug me~ Your baby wants cuddles!”
Gu Cheng: “…You’re overthinking it.”
Ning Yi smirked indulgently. Look at you. After everything we’ve been through, you’re still shy.
Gu Cheng: “?”
What “everything”?
In the end, Gu Cheng helped Ning Yi into a beautiful back-buttoned dress while she dressed him in a tailored black suit.
In the large mirror of the suite’s walk-in closet, both of their reflections looked stunning.
Ning Yi thought: We’re equally blessed here, aren’t we? ^3^
A new day began—with breakfast at the five-star hotel!
Though their bodies hadn’t switched back, it didn’t affect Ning Yi’s life goal of eating well and living happily.
The breakfast, highly recommended by socialites, lived up to the hype. Ning Yi ate to her heart’s content, already looking forward to the lunch arranged by the summit organizers.
After breakfast…
The assistants and bodyguards arrived to escort Gu Cheng and Ning Yi to the summit venue, briefing them on the day’s schedule.
The morning’s summit activities were relatively simple, mostly consisting of lectures explaining current technical challenges and market trends—something they could just listen to casually. The afternoon, however, featured panel discussions where many attendees were eager to hear insights from the Gu Corporation. Inevitably, “Gu Cheng” would need to speak during these sessions.
“If there’s a moment you need to speak during the meeting, I’ll tell you in your mind how to respond.”
“Just repeat after me. Don’t panic,” Gu Cheng said as he pushed Ning Yi in a wheelchair, outlining the plan for the day. If their random body swap hadn’t reversed by the afternoon, this was the best they could do.
Ning Yi, entirely unbothered, responded cheerfully, “Alright, alright, got it, hubby.”
Attending a summit with her peers—what was there to panic about?
Gu Cheng glanced at her again and warned, “And don’t make weird expressions with my face.”
Ning Yi smirked, “So, can we go to that restaurant from yesterday tonight? ^3^”
Gu Cheng: “Deal.”
Ning Yi mentally planned the rest of the day’s meals, settling into a calm, satisfied state.
To outsiders, however—
The expression on “Eldest Young Master Gu’s” face seemed to carry an unusual hint of contentment beneath its usual aloofness.
Assistant Zhou thought he understood why.
Clearing his throat, he asked, “Eldest Young Master, madam, how was your stay last night?”
Feedback from the boss was the motivation for his career growth!
Gu Cheng gave him a chilly look.
Heh.
Ning Yi, sitting in the wheelchair, responded kindly, “It was excellent.”
Assistant Zhou was immediately filled with joy—
Eldest Young Master Gu said it was excellent! Unbelievable!
This was the highest praise he’d ever received from Eldest Young Master Gu in all his years of service!
Assistant Zhou silently vowed to arrange more romantic opportunities for the couple in the future. Passionate surprises? Extravagant gestures? No problem!
Anything for more of Eldest Young Master Gu’s rare compliments.
The morning lecture began on schedule, focusing on various facets of internet information technology aligned with the summit’s theme.
Gu Cheng had the prime seat at the front, while Ning Yi was seated in the back with the assistants and bodyguards.
From the back, Gu Cheng thought Ning Yi might fall asleep and require a nudge from him. To his surprise, she stayed attentive throughout, even nodding slightly while taking notes at key points.
But every time “Eldest Young Master Gu” nodded, it sent waves of excitement through the speakers—
Eldest Young Master Gu nodding was as good as a seal of approval from Gu Corporation’s capital!
This was what every start-up in attendance dreamed of.
Energized, the speakers delivered with even more enthusiasm.
Ning Yi found the exchange with her peers quite beneficial. Their discussions on customer analysis, traffic insights, and various technical innovations offered valuable ideas for improving her platform.
From the back, her focused demeanour was particularly striking.
Gu Cheng couldn’t help but smile faintly.
Good girl.
When the morning session ended, Ning Yi leaned back in her wheelchair, satisfied.
This was indeed worth attending—even Gu Cheng himself came to these events. Many professionals had shared high-value insights.
The afternoon discussions would likely be even better, with industry leaders exchanging ideas. Ning Yi found herself looking forward to it.
Thinking about it, wasn’t this essentially equivalent to 01 attending in person? Plus, being in her husband’s body came with the bonus of eight assistants handling all the materials for her.
Body-swapping was amazing! Ha!
As everyone filed out of the hall in an orderly manner, Gu Cheng walked over to Ning Yi’s side and asked softly, “Tired from sitting?”
Ning Yi replied breezily, “Not at all.”
Their simple exchange carried a warmth that didn’t go unnoticed by the bodyguards and assistants—
Look at how loving they are!
But as Gu Cheng pushed Ning Yi out, he narrowed his eyes slightly.
Was Ning Yi genuinely interested in this?
Had she studied this before?
Based on the background check he had conducted, Ning Yi’s life seemed straightforward, with no mention of computer-related knowledge.
Moreover—
Her birthplace and that of her friend yesterday didn’t match.
So.
A faint, cold amusement flickered in Gu Cheng’s eyes.
Was his Ah Yi hiding more surprises?
After the meeting, it was time for lunch. The summit organizers had reserved a national banquet restaurant for their esteemed guests.
The location, by a famous scenic lake, offered a beautiful environment and an exceptionally high standard of cuisine.
Ning Yi maintained her composure outwardly but was brimming with excitement inside! The only downside was that she had to uphold her husband’s elegant dining etiquette, so no gnawing on pork knuckles.
Sigh.
But remembering that she could extort another lavish dinner from her husband tonight, Ning Yi’s mood stayed upbeat.
The organizers first arranged for Eldest Young Master Gu to be seated, then guided the other guests to their places.
As the top dog, Eldest Young Master Gu even got the menu first. Ning Yi, keeping up Gu Cheng’s demeanour, calmly perused the dishes.
As the banquet hall filled with guests, Ning Yi scanned the room and whispered a reminder to Gu Cheng.
“Hubby, to keep my friend from figuring out our little secret, you’ll need to stick to the lines I provide if anything happens.”
“Oh?” Gu Cheng asked coolly. “Who is this friend of yours, Ah Yi?”
Just then, Zhao Weining entered with a group of programmer friends.
They had been briefed by 01 a long time ago—she had told them she only wanted to quietly handle the technical difficulties behind the scenes and had no interest in basking in the spotlight. This sentiment moved a group of straightforward guys so deeply that they cried.
As a result, they were extremely loyal to her wishes and had never mentioned to anyone that Ning Yi was the legendary 01.
However, seeing Ning Yi in person at the event was still thrilling! Usually, they went to the company in person, but the boss only provided remote guidance and never showed up to meet them!
Ah! Sister Ning is so beautiful!!!
Of course, Eldest Young Master Gu sitting beside her was also very handsome, but they didn’t care about that—ah, Sister Ning is looking this way!
Zhao Weining barely managed to control his bashfulness, but the younger team members behind him were blushing furiously, their eyes sparkling.
Meanwhile, in Ning Yi’s body, Gu Cheng watched as a group of young men greeted him with restrained excitement.
“…”
Turning to Ning Yi, his voice was cold, “How many men have you made appointments with?”
Ning Yi, sipping a bowl of shark fin soup, modestly waved it off. “Bros, all bros.”
Gu Cheng: “…”
Not long after, the celebrity esports players arrived.
Wander, wearing a black mask and sporting silver earrings, stood out among the crowd with his height and striking appearance. Scanning the room, he noticed 01 and her husband seated at the same table. A smirk appeared on his face.
After greeting the owner of his club, he approached their table and politely asked, “I see there’s an empty seat here. May I sit down?”
Ning Yi almost burst out laughing.
Captain Wan was really good at pretending to be civilized.
There were plenty of people secretly eyeing the chance to sit with Eldest Young Master Gu, but no one else dared to be so bold!
After Wander’s straightforward question, the capitalists at the table couldn’t bring themselves to refuse—especially after sneaking a glance at “Eldest Young Master Gu,” whose expression seemed indulgent.
“Sure, please sit.”
“Thanks.”
The only person at the table who didn’t look pleased was “Ning Yi,” Eldest Young Master Gu’s wife.
Gu Cheng stared coldly and critically at Wander.
Without his mask, Wander looked decent, but that was about it.
Gu Cheng already knew everything about him, yet Wander’s background and Ning Yi’s didn’t overlap at all.
So, how were they acquainted?
Wander met “01’s” icy gaze and raised an eyebrow—so aloof? Intriguing.
The atmosphere at the table became hard to describe.
Meanwhile, Ning Yi remained completely unbothered, solely focused on what dishes were coming next.
After all, one was her husband, and the other was her teammate.
She had no feelings for either, hahaha.
Gu Cheng spoke coolly in his mind, “Ah Yi, need me to say hello to your friend for you?”
Ning Yi, missing the sarcasm entirely, replied aloud, “Sure, hubby. Go ahead and wave at him.”
Gu Cheng’s smile turned icy.
“Just wave?” he asked.
Ning Yi gave him a puzzled look.
What was with his weird tone?
What else should he do, a full bro-handshake routine with fist bumps?
Wander’s gaze discreetly swept between Ning Yi and Gu Cheng, sensing an unspoken connection between them. It was as if they could understand each other without saying a word.
Already this in sync with someone else? Impressive, 01.
Captain Wan silently added some vinegar to his plate.
Then, the dishes, prepared to national banquet standards, began arriving one after another.
When it came to eating, Captain Wan and Ning Yi were eerily similar.
Having both experienced extreme hunger during the apocalypse, they treated food with reverence. Now, in a normal, civilized society with its exquisite cuisine, every bite deserved serious appreciation.
As soon as the dishes were served, the rest of the table engaged in business talk, trying their best to catch Eldest Young Master Gu’s interest.
Meanwhile, Wander and Ning Yi focused solely on eating.
In Gu Cheng’s body, Ning Yi maintained elegant and refined table manners. Wander, however, had no such restraints, eating like he was trying to fill a bottomless pit.
By the end of the meal, Ning Yi was panicking: Damn, we’re not in the apocalypse anymore, why is he still eating this fast?!
The two silently but fiercely competed in their own way.
Gu Cheng’s expression grew increasingly displeased.
Why did they both look like famine survivors? Their seemingly chaotic eating styles hinted at a connection that he couldn’t quite understand.
Finally, Ning Yi managed to eat herself into a satisfied stupor.
“Hubby, why aren’t you eating?” she asked, suddenly remembering to show some concern for her husband. “This shark fin soup is delicious. At least have some—don’t let *my* stomach go hungry ^3^.”
Gu Cheng’s tone was sharp: “Not eating.”
Ning Yi: “?”
Fine, don’t eat then. No need to be so rude.
Not eating is fine, but why be so grumpy about it?
Men on their “period” are truly terrifying!
After the meal, most people returned to the hotel to rest and recharge for the afternoon summit.
In the afternoon, the esports players would try out some new cloud games, coinciding with the summit discussions.
Wander lagged behind, wanting to have a private word with Ning Yi.
However, Eldest Young Master Gu’s assistants and bodyguards surrounded them in layers, leaving no opportunity for Wander to approach.
He crossed his arms and clicked his tongue in annoyance.
When they returned to the hotel lobby, Ding Ziyue appeared, holding Jiang Linyi’s arm and enveloped in a cloud of perfume. Jiang Linyi naturally greeted Wander with a smile, while Ding Ziyue’s eyes sparkled with ambition.
Ning Yi, following a few steps behind, took one look at the scene and couldn’t help but laugh inwardly.
This situation had nothing to do with her or Gu Cheng.
*Dear Captain Wan, you stuffed yourself at lunch—now take some time to digest~ ^_^*
“Wan-ge~ You’re going to try out the cloud games this afternoon, right?” Ding Ziyue said pitifully. “Ah, but I’m so bad at games.”
Wander: “?” No one said you were joining us.
Ding Ziyue puffed out her cheeks. “Wan-ge, you have to teach me well, okay?”
Wander: “No, I—”
Before he could finish, Jiang Linyi cut in, his gaze indulgent. “Then I’ll leave her in your care, Wan-ge. Ziyue is a bit naïve, so please be patient with her.”
Wander stood there, wanting to say something but holding back for a long time.
“…Alright.” He frowned irritably.
Since arriving in this world, Wander felt his temper had significantly improved.
He had originally planned to ask 01 if she wanted to come watch. The summit was so boring—playing games with him would’ve been much better.
However, when Ding Ziyue noticed the irritation on his face, she thought she understood—
It’s happening! Wan-ge is already conflicted about having to compete with his good friend for a girlfriend, isn’t he?
Oh no, it’s all her fault for being so irresistibly charming!
After Wander left, Ding Ziyue immediately shook Jiang Linyi’s arm and said coquettishly, “Ah, Linyi-gege, you won’t mind, will you? We’re just playing games.”
Jiang Linyi smiled. “It’s fine, Ziyue. I won’t mind.”
As a fellow man, he failed to notice any romantic feelings from Wander toward Ding Ziyue.
“Then for tomorrow’s celebrity match, Linyi-gege, you have to watch it with me~”
Tomorrow’s match would have a live audience, and the livestream would also attract countless viewers.
Now that she had fulfilled the prophecy in her dream by acquiring a luxury flat and had the entire internet witness Jiang Linyi’s love for her, the next step in her romance-novel-worthy life was for Jiang Linyi to start competing with others for her!
According to the script, tomorrow Wan-ge would confess to her publicly after winning the match! Jiang Linyi, sitting in the audience, would be shocked and furious to see his best friend stealing his girl, leading to an explosive confrontation!
It would be so dramatic—an internet-breaking moment!
Ning Yi absolutely had to watch this unfold~
The internet summit’s discussion session finally began.
A row of capital investors sat below the stage as start-up representatives delivered presentations. The amount of attention they could garner depended entirely on their abilities.
For start-ups, the goal was ultimately to sell their products to investors. They had to break down their profit models, technical frameworks, and other key aspects in clear detail to attract funding opportunities.
CMore also had a presentation slot.
Zhao Weining, as the small boss, decided to take the stage himself. Though initially uncertain, 01 had already helped him identify and solve all the tricky points in his speech. Technically, it was flawless. Moreover, seeing the big boss himself in the audience felt like a calming reassurance.
After the five-minute presentation, Zhao noticed intrigued expressions on the faces of the investors and peers, a clear sign of success.
The subsequent Q&A session also went smoothly for Zhao. As he stepped off the stage, his legs were trembling, and he thought, *I can’t believe it! I didn’t embarrass Sister 01!*
“CMore is truly a rising star—”
“If their founder were here, it would be even more interesting.”
“It’s only a matter of time. Didn’t you notice Gu Corporation’s interest? Rumour has it that Gu is planning to establish an internet industrial park in City A. Investing in CMore is just a matter of time…”
“When Gu finally meets the founder, how could they not? After all, it’s Gu Cheng.”
Sitting in Gu Cheng’s seat, Ning Yi felt a rush of smug satisfaction.
Who else but me could dominate this romance-novel world? Hahaha!
Next, another internet company’s CEO took the stage.
In the back row, Gu Cheng was lost in thought when someone suddenly sat beside him.
“Ah, little sister~ You came to the afternoon session too~”
Ding Ziyue covered her mouth, looking Ning Yi up and down smugly. “I heard from my brother that there are live Q&A sessions here. Can you even understand?”
Gu Cheng didn’t even spare her a glance.
Idiot.
Muted.
But Ding Ziyue managed to carry out the entire drama on her own.
“I’ve been so busy these past two days. Otherwise, I would’ve come to hang out with you. Sigh, Linyi-gege gave me such a huge flat—it’s exhausting to move in and organize everything.”
“And Wander-ge wants to play games with me tomorrow. Why do they all love hanging out with me so much?”
Ding Ziyue sighed dramatically as she spoke.
“Plus, did you know? After CMore’s update today, you can now see IP locations. The founder, 01’s, IP address is also in City S~ And last night, he even liked my post!”
What did this mean? It meant he must have come here for her.
Upon hearing this, Gu Cheng finally reacted slightly.
He’s here? But he didn’t stay at the hotel arranged by the organizers…
Feeling smug, Ding Ziyue thought, 01 is so attentive to me, and now that I’ve made a high-profile move to City S with Jiang Linyi to buy a love nest, he must be unable to sit still! He’s probably hiding somewhere at the summit, secretly watching me.
Thinking this, she straightened her back, determined to let her beauty captivate the founder.
Gu Cheng paused, turned his head slightly, and asked, “What time did he like your post yesterday?”
Ding Ziyue smiled sweetly. “Ah, around midnight~ Sigh, I feel so troubled not being able to reciprocate his affection…”
Gu Cheng recalled that at that time, he and Ning Yi had been in the bathroom.
No, perhaps they had already finished their bath and were lying in bed. He had been meditating, eyes closed, while Ning Yi was scrolling through her phone…
Gu Cheng pinched the bridge of his nose. Forget it.
Maybe he was just overthinking things, letting his irritation lead to illogical connections.
Meanwhile, on stage, the CEO had finished presenting their concept and was now looking expectantly and ambitiously at “Eldest Young Master Gu” in the audience.
“Mr. Gu, do you have any feedback on our framework?”
Gu Cheng frowned slightly. He had been thinking about 01 and hadn’t paid attention to the presentation at all.
All eyes in the room shifted to the middle of the front row—where Ning Yi sat in Gu Cheng’s place.
Gu Cheng hesitated for two seconds, preparing to provide Ning Yi with an answer to repeat.
But before he could, Ning Yi spoke up calmly.
“The next cornerstone for the internet industry needs to be a robust computing power network capable of supporting concepts like Web 3.0. Does your framework include clear metrics and management for general computing power, intelligent computing power, and supercomputing power? Can it form a mature computing power service system?”
Gu Cheng felt a sudden, faint shock in his heart.
Ning Yi could actually spout this much nonsense.
During her time in the apocalypse working on communications, she had been forced to upgrade countless technologies, far surpassing this world’s technical standards. But—saying more would be impolite, so she stopped just in time. √
Even so, the entire venue fell silent, so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
Everyone immediately focused—As expected of Eldest Young Master Gu! He instantly pinpointed the critical issue!
The presenter on stage was left stammering and only managed a few stumbling responses before stepping down.
No one else dared to recklessly challenge Eldest Young Master Gu with questions during their presentations after that.
Gu Cheng, however, narrowed his eyes.
“Ah Yi, how do you know all that?”
Having finished her moment of brilliance, Ning Yi smoothly returned to her usual demeanour.
She replied shyly, “I listened to Assistant Zhou read through the materials all afternoon yesterday. How was it, hubby? Isn’t your baby smart and clever? Didn’t I make you proud?”
Gu Cheng paused for two seconds, then smirked.
Heh.
“Really, Ah Yi,” his tone turned icy, “what else can you do?”
Ning Yi casually rattled off, “Python scripts, 66 yuan per 100 lines; Java programs, 888 yuan each; website and app development, 6,688 yuan per project; KFC stand-ins, 50 yuan per session.”
Though she was proficient in all of these—“I’m only taking the last one ^3^.”
Gu Cheng: “? Stand-in.”
Ning Yi: “Hubby, let’s go later. It’s Crazy Thursday today.”
Faced with her husband, she was truly the rising star of the art of BS!
“Hmm? How about it?”
“Transfer me 50 yuan—let’s see your financial power.”
Gu Cheng stayed silent for a long moment.
Finally, he started to feel like maybe he was indeed overthinking things.
Of course, dinner wasn’t going to be as simple as KFC!
After substituting for her husband at meetings all day, Ning Yi was determined to get her compensation that evening.
Spending a full day in Gu Cheng’s body, she realized just how extraordinary he was.
He barely felt hunger or thirst, and he didn’t seem to get tired. Even without fully recovering, his energy levels were incredibly high. It was as if he were born to succeed, no wonder he’d become the ultimate business mogul in the story.
To help him fulfil some of life’s earthly desires, Ning Yi took him to the same Michelin-starred restaurant from the previous day, ordering all her favorite dishes again and adding the most expensive items to the table.
She could finish it all anyway.
As Ning Yi ate, she casually remarked, “What do we do, hubby? We still haven’t swapped back yet.”
This was the first time their body swap had lasted over 24 hours—a new record.
Gu Cheng was also pondering the issue.
There were plans for tomorrow, and if they still couldn’t swap back, it would cause significant inconvenience.
But the randomness of their swaps offered no solution.
After eating her fill, Ning Yi decided not to think about it anymore. Back at the hotel, she flopped onto the bed, scrolling through posts on her phone.
Gu Cheng glanced at her, then decided to take a shower.
One minute later, he returned.
“How do you undo the buttons on this dress?”
Ning Yi, still glued to her phone, replied lazily, “Ugh, go ask the bodyguards to do it.”
Gu Cheng’s dark eyes fixated on her.
Eight bodyguards, seven assistants—all men.
Ask other men to help undo her dress buttons?
His voice dropped to a dangerously low tone: “Are you too trusting of yourself?”
“Fine, fine,” Ning Yi sighed indulgently, sitting up and muttering, “I’ll do it for you. Why have you been in such a bad mood all day? Is your *man-period* lasting this long?”
Gu Cheng nearly laughed out of sheer exasperation.
Spoiled.
Now she didn’t even bother to insult him behind his back.
When Ning Yi sat up, she realized Gu Cheng was standing, and she still couldn’t reach the buttons on the back of the dress.
After a moment’s thought, she grabbed his wrist and pulled him down onto her lap.
Gu Cheng’s face remained expressionless. “…”
Comfortably positioned, Ning Yi swiftly worked on undoing the buttons behind him.
However, as they leaned together, before she even finished, she made a startling discovery.
“Hubby, hubby!”
“What now?”
“It’s standing up!”
Gu Cheng: “?”
After a brief silence, Gu Cheng replied, “…Ignore it.”
It was merely a natural reaction to physical contact—nothing more. As a man whose sole focus was his grand ambitions and vast empire, Gu Cheng had never indulged in such trivial, bodily desires.
For nearly thirty years, this had always been the case.
“Really?” Ning Yi said. “—Then let me test it!”
Test what?
Before Gu Cheng could stop her, his vision suddenly flipped.
Their bodies had swapped back?!
After a full day of being switched, the exchange ended as abruptly as it had begun, leaving no clue as to when it might happen again.
Now, in their original forms, Gu Cheng found himself holding Ning Yi, his perspective suddenly reversed.
He looked down at his hand—thumb and middle finger poised together, aimed at a certain spot, ready to flick something hard.
Gu Cheng: “?” What were you planning to do?
Ning Yi grinned. “Hehe. Just testing it.”
“…” After two seconds of silence, Gu Cheng said, “Wife, are you *bored*?”
