LLASBWUH Chapter 36

Was Husband Satisfied?

Fireworks over City A briefly trended online.

The obvious implication—given the location and context—was that they were a grand gesture from Mr. Gu for his wife. Naturally, this became the talk of the internet.

[In this round, it seems ‘Gu de Mo Ning’ has triumphed over ‘Wan Shi Ru Yi’!]

[Not necessarily! We don’t know what other gifts the Gu Cheng might have given. Ning clearly liked Wan’s jade ornament!]

[Team ‘Wan Shi Ru Yi’ is still holding strong!]

Everyone was curious about what Gu Cheng had given Ning Yi, especially since fireworks of that scale were already so extravagant. Surely the rest of the gifts would be equally impressive!

Later that evening, during Wander’s livestream, nosy viewers flooded the chat with questions:

[Wan, any thoughts on this?]

[How confident are you in winning?]

Wander scoffed, “Don’t you all have anything better to do?”

After all, Gu Cheng—the husband of 01—came across as someone devoid of human emotion.

Unlike his own gifts, which were steeped in unique memories shared with 01, full of sentiment.

Meanwhile, Ding Ziyue lounged at home, surrounded by her mountain of gifts, thinking lazily: Sure, the fireworks were shocking at first, but they’re just… fireworks.

If Ning Yi had received something truly valuable, wouldn’t she have shown it off already? The last time she got her hands on an uncut jadeite, she grinned so wide it practically split her face! Shows she’s just as materialistic as the rest of us.

And, despite Ding Ziyue repeatedly urging Ning Yi to register a CMore account, Ning Yi had stubbornly refused. Probably because she had nothing worth flaunting and didn’t want to be overshadowed in comparison.

Satisfied, Ding Ziyue scrolled through her phone. The PR team had already pushed the news—her and Jiang Linyi’s official announcement had taken the internet by storm!

#JiangLinyiDingZiyueOfficial# [Trending]

After all, in the glitzy world of showbiz, it was rare for a leading actor in his prime to openly acknowledge a girlfriend. The announcement had not only made Ding Ziyue the envy of countless fans but also earned her admiration within the industry. Everyone was dying to know: How did she manage to make Jiang Linyi so devoted to her?

Ding Ziyue just smiled—What can I say? Some people are just blessed.

She posted a gift list online.

[@DingZiyue: So much love this year! Being loved makes you lovable. Thank you to my dearest him, and to all of you~ [Photo]]

[Diamond tiara, Eight-tier handcrafted cake, Rare Hermès handbag, Custom Chanel haute couture fall collection, …]

Netizens were floored. The list was a parade of luxury items, stretching on and on.

[Is this a princess’s birthday? These must cost at least a million!]

[More like several million. That diamond tiara alone is worth 3 million!]

[I’m crying. Who wouldn’t want to be Ding Ziyue?]

[Is there a girl in the world more pampered than her?]

Ding Ziyue, elated by the comments, twirled around her princess room in joy.

Still no sign of Ning Yi, huh? Could she be crying somewhere, staring at the trending topics and gift lists?

Ah~ What a charmed life she led!

Just as Ding Ziyue was revelling in her thoughts, she received a text from Jiang Linyi. His tone was as steady and gentle as always.

[Yueyue, we’re trending, but don’t worry. I’ll handle everything. Sleep well. Goodnight.]

Ding Ziyue responded sweetly, but a seed of unease about their relationship lingered. She’d achieved her dream of making the world see Jiang Linyi’s love for her, but their romance still lacked the dramatic tension needed for the story to unfold properly.

Jiang Linyi needed to experience loss and hardship with her. Only then would he cherish and protect her forever!

And the key to every pivotal plot twist lay with Mr. Gu.

The biggest problem now? Mr. Gu wasn’t nearly “darkened” enough.

Ning Yi, such a manipulative woman, had probably painted herself as a saint in front of him. How else would he forget all the ways she’d wronged him and even reward her with ostentatious gestures like fireworks?

So, how to accelerate Mr. Gu’s descent into darkness?

Their relationship was devoid of true affection—unlike hers and Linyi’s—so breaking it apart shouldn’t be too difficult.

Ding Ziyue pondered with a devilish smile that even Buddha might forgive.

The upcoming family sports event could be just the opportunity to stir things up~

Just as she was plotting, her group chat exploded with messages.

Ding Ziyue grinned—Did the elites in the circle see the trending topics?

Her enviable life wasn’t just enough to make ordinary folks jealous—it had to make even these heirs and heiresses green with envy.

Opening the chat, she saw:

[Holy crap, is Ning Yi’s gift list real?]

[That can’t be legit, right??]

[…I should’ve logged off earlier.]

Ding Ziyue: What gift list?

Ning Yi’s gift list emerged in a rather roundabout way.

That evening, just as she had finished putting away her presents, the top gossip queen of CMore, Zhao Mochu, caught the scent and came snooping.

For this birthday, Zhao Mochu had sent gifts to both Ding Ziyue and Ning Yi and even attended Princess Ding’s birthday banquet, where she enjoyed quite the sugar rush from all the lovey-dovey displays.

After thoroughly examining Ding Ziyue’s list, Zhao Mochu slyly decided to poke Ning Yi for details.

She couldn’t believe Mr. Gu had done nothing—after all, “Gu’s Mo Ning” felt too real!

Just consider how Wander had barely arrived with his gift when the perpetually busy Mr. Gu showed up in person. If that wasn’t jealousy, what was?

Ning Yi: “Oh, it’s really nothing much.”

Ning Yi: “Just a few little things!”

—Post-apocalyptic survival rule #1: Never flaunt your wealth.

Keeping a low profile while making bank is the ultimate satisfaction! Back in the apocalypse, “making bank” meant finding an unopened box of crackers. Now, it’s making bank to the power of three.

Zhao Mochu: “Really? I don’t believe you!”

Since Ning Yi wouldn’t spill, and asking Mr. Gu directly was out of the question, Zhao Mochu turned to her greatest resource—the boundless talent of the internet. Surely, among the countless CP fans, a genius would emerge!

That “genius” turned out to be Assistant Zhou from the Gu family, who had already meticulously compiled a list of birthday gifts for Mrs. Gu. After all, it was part of his job.

With careful tact, he had even confirmed the list with Mr. Gu. And when he didn’t receive any reprimands, he interpreted the silence as encouragement. He promptly shared the list with a major blogger.

When Zhao Mochu saw it, she audibly gasped.

Holy crap, Mr. Gu, tone it down a little, will you?!

Compared to Ding Ziyue’s jewellery, handbags, and designer clothes, the contrast was staggering.

What was Ding Ziyue even flaunting??

Her desire to compete flared up like never before!

Amid the flood of comments online gushing over Ding Ziyue –

[I’m so jealous of Ding Ziyue!]

[Can I live her life in my next life, please?]

2[She’s the happiest princess in the world!]

—the largest “Gu Cheng x Ning Yi x Wan” CP fan account casually dropped Ning Yi’s gift list.

Excited, netizens clicked, expecting something impressive.

[Ruby necklace,  A school district house in City A’s XX area,  A peach blossom jade and agate ornament,  A full set of PS5 games,  …]

Up to this point, nothing was particularly jaw-dropping.

Even Ding Ziyue managed to keep her composure. While a bit envious, she reassured herself: My diamond tiara is shinier! My eight-tier cake is grander!

But then she scrolled down.

[Three-deck luxury yacht ‘Nord’,  A 400m² penthouse in City A’s Yunding Water Garden,  A subsidiary logistics company under the Gu Corporation, …]

Ding Ziyue was stunned.

A yacht was already extravagant enough—but a company?!

The post immediately went viral, rocketing to the top of the trending topics without the need for any PR.

[Holy crap, this is *the* man!]

[Only someone like Mr. Gu could pull this off!]

[‘Wan Shi Ru Yi’? It’s game over! Wan lost, but honestly, who wouldn’t lose to this level of cash power?]

Wander, still streaming, noticed his comment section exploding. Curious, he checked his phone. After a brief glance, he closed it again, expressionless.

…That man. A walking top-tier complex, wasn’t he?

City A’s elite circle was equally in uproar.

[I don’t believe it…]

[Let’s just call it a dream. Goodnight.]

[I can’t sleep—I’m dying of envy! Did Ning Yi cast a spell on Mr. Gu?]

…

Ding Ziyue was in utter disbelief.

This must be staged. It has to be!

She refused to accept that anyone could be more pampered, more adored, or live a better life than her.

What kind of sorcery did Ning Yi use?!

Her confidence was shattered. Comparing the two, it was clear—she had lost, and lost miserably.

The skyrocketing number of likes and comments on Ding Ziyue’s posts abruptly stalled, as if mocking her.

Just an hour ago, she had been dancing around her room in joy, but now she was on the verge of a meltdown.

No! This can’t happen!

Ding Ziyue’s mind raced furiously. She had to find a way to turn the situation around, and fast.

How can I drag Ning Yi down?

—The upcoming family sports event?

Originally, this was supposed to be a story arc for her and Jiang Linyi, showcasing their chemistry and intimacy through various partner activities.

But what if Ning Yi participated? With Gu Cheng still recovering from his leg injury, who would she choose as her partner? One name floated to the surface—Wander.

Though she hated to admit it, it seemed Wan showed more interest in Ning Yi than in her. And they had apparently known each other for a long time.

If she could orchestrate a situation where they paired up, with all the inevitable physical interactions and ambiguous moments… Would Gu Cheng still favour Ning Yi after that?

The more she thought about it, the more plausible it seemed!

Professional gamers like Wander weren’t known for their physical fitness. And although Ning Yi had shown boldness in past activities, that didn’t necessarily equate to athletic ability. If she could ensure they teamed up, the sight of them helping each other, acting all cozy, would surely infuriate Gu Cheng.

With Gu Cheng unable to participate due to his injury, this could be a deadlock!

Ding Ziyue’s rising excitement finally suppressed her earlier jealousy. She quickly dialled Ning Yi’s number.

Ning Yi: “Hello?”

Ding Ziyue: “Are you joining the family sports event in two weeks?”

Ning Yi: “Huh?”

What now? Ning Yi thought, puzzled by Ding Ziyue’s abruptness.

Ding Ziyue: “I’m officially challenging you! You can partner with Wan if you need a teammate. Linyi and I will compete against you. Do you dare accept, Ning Yi?”

Ning Yi: “What?”

Going against her was already an unfair proposition, and now she wanted her to drag in Captain Wan too? How reckless can you get?

Ning Yi (kindly): “Um, well…”

Ding Ziyue (hysterically): “I’m asking if you dare! Do you dare?”

Ning Yi: “…Sure, I guess.”

Before she could say more, Ding Ziyue hung up with a triumphant snap.

Just you wait, Ning Yi!

I’ll make sure your relationship with Gu Cheng shatters into pieces!

Ning Yi: OvO?

Huh, you really are a curious little thing.

Ning Yi slept peacefully that night, ready to embrace her new year and a fresh start in life.

—Time to check out that company!

The school district house gifted by Old Master Gu would remain an investment property. The villa Gu Cheng gave her was in the suburbs, and the yacht was by the sea. But the small logistics company, located conveniently near the Gu Corporation, was something she could visit today.

Humming happily, Ning Yi prepared to head out.

“Hubby, are you coming?”

Gu Cheng, as aloof and reserved as ever, showed no visible reaction.

“No,” he replied indifferently.

Instead, he arranged for a team of assistants and bodyguards to accompany Ning Yi. A professional team would handle the company transfer process.

As he watched her bouncing toward the car, Gu Cheng lightly tapped his fingers on his knee.

Now that Ning Yi was becoming someone of importance, it was imperative to fully understand her.

Gu Cheng enjoyed having everything under his control.

The gift of the company was not only a gesture to fulfil her casual wish but also a subtle test.

Currently, the Gu Corporation was finalizing its investment in CMore, but the platform’s elusive founder had remained behind the scenes, avoiding any business dealings. Despite hosting massively popular livestreams with flawlessly stable servers, making CMore a cultural phenomenon among young people and nearing 100 million users, the absence of a visible leader increased the risk.

Gu Cheng, a man with the highest standards for security, couldn’t proceed with the investment until he met the founder.

Still, his sharp instincts as a top-tier businessman couldn’t ignore certain clues—Ning Yi’s connections with Zhao Weining and others, her gaming prowess…

However, Gu Cheng never made baseless assumptions.

This was merely… a test.

Leaning back into his chair with an enigmatic expression, Gu Cheng stared into the distance.

He’d start with something simple—like taking her out to dinner after work—and probe further.

Meanwhile, Ning Yi happily made her way to the logistics company.

The company Gu Cheng had given her focused on local operations in City A. Though not massive, it was running smoothly and was in good financial health.

Giving her a company sounded thrilling, but the actual process involved some hassle. Transferring ownership required applications at the tax authority where the business was registered. Fortunately, the Gu Corporation had plenty of staff specialized in handling such procedures.

A legal team was brought in to notarize the transfer, auditing the company’s assets, liabilities, and financial health to provide a precise valuation, management structure overview, and employee details.

To ensure Ning Yi understood everything, Gu Corporation’s smartest and most eloquent assistant, Zhou, was assigned to break it all down for her step by step.

“Madam, does this make sense?”

“Yes, yes.”

Ning Yi found it quite clear, and it was evident the company was in excellent shape! It had a professional CFO managing its operations, meaning she essentially just needed to sit back and enjoy the profits.

The only drawback was the outdated online logistics system.

Ning Yi considered upgrading the system once she settled in. The efficiency could be improved threefold. But it was better to wait until Gu Cheng’s attention was no longer on her “little company.”

Hehe.

The meeting took up the entire day, and by dinnertime, Ning Yi’s stomach growled right on cue.

Meanwhile, Gu Cheng, having wrapped up a meeting at the main corporation, came by to pick her up from the subsidiary.

The employees at the logistics company, who hadn’t seen Gu Cheng in years, were so thrilled at his arrival they practically ran to the door to greet him.

“Eldest Young Master Gu!”

“Welcome, Eldest Young Master Gu, to our humble company!”

Ning Yi, seeing this spectacle, barely held back the urge to bow along with them.

Gu Cheng didn’t step out of the car, merely lowering the window to nod at the employees.

“Thank you for your hard work.”

The crowd erupted with excitement. “It’s no trouble at all!”

If even the madam had visited their company, they must be on Gu Cheng’s radar now! Prosperity was just around the corner!

Gu Cheng’s gaze shifted past the crowd to Ning Yi, and he beckoned her over with a slight motion of his finger.

“Time for dinner.”

Hearing the word dinner, Ning Yi immediately dashed over like a swallow returning to its nest.

“Coming, hubby!”

The employees were stunned.

Wasn’t Young Master Gu supposed to be an unapproachable iceberg with no interest in women? And now… he was here to pick up his wife for dinner?!

Whoa, they’re actually this sweet?!

Assistant Zhou, wearing an expression that seemed to say “you all have no idea,” respectfully opened the car door for Gu Cheng and Ning Yi.

—You don’t understand how indulgent the tyrant can be!

Once inside the car, Ning Yi excitedly rubbed her hands together, blinking at Gu Cheng. “Hubby, did you come here just to take your baby to dinner? You love me so much; I might cry, boohoo!”

Gu Cheng responded coldly, “No.”

Of course, Ning Yi didn’t believe him, but by now, it had become her daily habit to tease him at least once. “I don’t care what you say! You love me, and baby loves you too! My love for you is as deep as the amount of food I’ll eat tonight! Deal, hubby?”

Gu Cheng: “?”

So, you plan to eat yourself into a food coma?

Expressionless, Gu Cheng justified his appearance. “You eat well. It’s appetizing to watch.”

Ning Yi: “?”

Fair enough, actually.

Satisfied, she finally quieted down.

Taking the opportunity, Assistant Zhou briefly reported the logistics company’s status to Gu Cheng.

Gu Cheng nodded lightly. “Hmm.”

Noticing Ning Yi’s pleased expression from the corner of his eye, he thought to himself: Making a woman happy is surprisingly easy.

“Hubby, when will we go see my big yacht?” Ning Yi chirped, clearly excited.

The thought of the yacht thrilled her. She imagined not just seeing it but taking it out to sea to truly experience the joy of owning it!

But Gu Cheng, busy as he was, had no time for such things.

With a frown, he thought, Women. So troublesome.

…I’ll have the assistant figure out a schedule tomorrow.

That evening, dinner was arranged at an exclusive club.

Led by a server into a private room, they pushed open the wooden door to find someone already seated inside.

Following half a step behind Gu Cheng, Ning Yi, seeing the guest, showed no surprise. Quietly, she pushed her husband’s wheelchair into the room.

The guest rose to greet them.

“Eldest Young Master Gu, Madam Ning.”

“Mr. Zhao,” Gu Cheng nodded slightly.

The man was Zhao Weiying, elder brother of Zhao Mochu and Zhao Weining.

In his early thirties, Zhao Weiying was a successful businessman with a ruggedly handsome appearance. Before Gu Cheng’s rise as the business titan of City A, Zhao Weiying had long been one of the top bachelors coveted by socialites.

Ning Yi only needed a moment to figure out why Zhao Weiying was here.

The Zhao family had been backing Zhao Weining’s small internet company, and with CMore recently attracting investment interest from Gu Corporation, the business side of things was being handled by professionals. Zhao Weiying, as the eldest brother, had taken it upon himself to represent his younger sibling.

The Zhao family dynamics were rather unique:

  • Zhao Weiying, the eldest, was the pillar of the family, carrying all their hopes.
  • Zhao Mochu, the second sister, was an internet-addicted gossip enthusiast who lived to surf the web and snack on drama.
  • Zhao Weining, the youngest brother, was a gaming and coding addict who had been considered hopeless from a young age.

For years, Zhao Weiying’s only expectations for his younger siblings were that they abide by the law and live decently. He could easily afford to support them for the rest of their lives.

But recently, both had somehow started achieving things in their respective fields.

  • Zhao Mochu had inexplicably become a million-follower influencer thanks to her fandom-fuelled content.
  • Zhao Weining, with the help of some unknown benefactor, had co-founded the now wildly popular CMore platform.

Zhao Weiying couldn’t help but wonder if the family’s ancestors were smiling upon them from their graves.

Meanwhile, Ning Yi sipped on her steaming chicken soup, while Gu Cheng handed her the menu and let her order freely, as neither he nor Zhao Weiying were big eaters. Ning Yi, unbothered, ordered an entire spread, confident nothing would go to waste.

In the cozy private dining room, dishes were served promptly.

As Gu Cheng and Zhao Weiying discussed their business partnership, the conversation turned to CMore’s mysterious founder.

“The founder’s technical skills are top-notch,” Zhao Weiying remarked. “At this point, they’re more than just a shareholder; they’re the backbone of the company. The entire platform’s architecture was built by them, giving them the confidence to remain behind the scenes while maintaining their crucial role.”

Gu Cheng sipped his tea and nonchalantly turned the dish Ning Yi had reached for three times toward her, then asked, “Has Zhao Weining met this person?”

Ning Yi looked up, flashed a sweet smile at her husband, then happily continued eating.

“That kid keeps it a secret from even me,” Zhao Weiying admitted. “He’s certainly come a long way. All I know is that the founder is also based in City A. Their computer skills are miles ahead of ours—it’s even hard to trace their IP.”

Gu Cheng hummed thoughtfully.

The dinner was fruitful, with Zhao closing another deal with Gu Cheng. Partnering with the rapidly rising Gu Corporation was a monumental step for the Zhao family.

After dinner, Zhao Weiying called the server over to settle the bill himself.

Before leaving, he glanced across the round table at Ning Yi, who was focused on her meal.

“Madam, you should visit the Zhao family sometime,” he offered with a hint of a smile.

“Weining seems to like you quite a bit.”

Gu Cheng’s gaze immediately locked onto Zhao Weiying, a faint blue glint flickering in his dark eyes.

Ning Yi replied with a bright smile, “Oh, that’s probably because his gaming skills are so bad he admires my talent.”

Zhao Weiying froze.

Gu Cheng’s lips curled ever so slightly, but he didn’t press the matter in public. He simply took Ning Yi’s hand and said to Zhao Weiying, “It seems our Ah Yi really is the skilled one here.”

Zhao Weiying: Wait, why does this feel like parents comparing their kids?

And worse, he lost?

“Haha, well, do come visit sometime.”

That evening, back at the Zhao family home, Zhao Weiying unexpectedly confronted Zhao Weining.

“If you’re going to game, at least get good at it!” he declared sternly.

Zhao Weining: QAQ? What’s wrong with you?

—

Ning Yi left the dinner fully satisfied, her mind wandering to a common saying: When full and warm, one thinks of…

Ah, no. She corrected herself. When full and warm, one thinks of their husband’s recovery.

The day had been fulfilling—she was pleased with the company and the dinner. Last night, she had even resolved to give Gu Cheng a massage worth every bit of its imaginary 398-yuan value.

Time for a little practice!

When Gu Cheng emerged from the bathroom, Ning Yi smiled sweetly and said, “Hubby~ Come sit down here~”

Gu Cheng paused for two seconds, then said, “Speak normally.”

Still, he sat down, gazing at her steadily.

Ning Yi gently placed her hands on him and began her carefully learned massage routine.

She had genuinely studied this! Knowledge of pressure points wasn’t something to scoff at. She started at his scalp, moved to his shoulders, then down his arms, focusing on the Laogong, Taichong, and Yongquan points. Her technique carried a distinctively health-focused, traditional vibe.

After a while, Gu Cheng opened his eyes, unable to hold back. “What kind of massage technique is this?”

There was a hint of suspicion in his gaze.

‘Ah, it’s a massage filled with love!” Ning Yi replied earnestly.

Expressionless, Gu Cheng said, “Let me see.”

Ning Yi tried to hide her phone, but he quickly glimpsed the screen.

—”Four-year-old massages comatose mother daily for 20 minutes to wake her up!”

Gu Cheng: “…”

She had been learning massage techniques designed for comatose patients.

Gu Cheng: “?”

Ning Yi: “O.O”

After a long pause, Gu Cheng’s lips curved into a cool, sardonic smile.

Then, his tall, powerful frame loomed over her, radiating a commanding presence. His body no longer had the pallor of someone bedridden. The imperial figure of a ruler had nearly returned to its prime.

“Ah Yi, do you think,” Gu Cheng’s voice, low and magnetic, brushed against her ear like a soft breeze, “I’m still a comatose patient?”

His legs actually had sensation now.

All three of them.

Ning Yi: “Oh, right. Good point.”

No problem, I’ll just learn a different technique! I’m quick like that!

Gu Cheng eased back, reclining in a cold and detached posture, his sharp gaze sweeping over her.

What a little fool.

Ning Yi tapped away on her phone for a moment, quickly picking up another technique. With unrestrained enthusiasm, she shoved her husband back onto the bed.

“Come on!”

Caught off guard, Gu Cheng instinctively held her by the waist. “You…”

Do you have to be this direct?

Before he could react further, Ning Yi grabbed his arms and pressed her knees into his waist.

—A classic Thai bone-setting massage!

Gu Cheng: “?”

In mere seconds, the Young Master Gu was almost folded like a bedsheet.

“So? Feel good?”

“The internet says this position feels amazing!”

“Hubby, if you feel good, just let it out!”

Gu Cheng: “…”

Every servant and bodyguard in the villa wished they could flee 800 miles away.

“…That’s enough, wife,” Gu Cheng finally said, his voice subdued. “Enough.”

This isn’t a massage; it’s a shortcut to an early grave.

But Ning Yi was on a roll, ready to try something more creative.

“Hubby, watch me knead, pull, and stretch your quads!”

Gu Cheng couldn’t take it anymore. He grabbed her hands, flipping their positions in one smooth motion. Ning Yi suddenly found herself beneath him, momentarily stunned.

“!”

She tested her newfound “power” and discovered she could still switch their positions back.

Now thoroughly intrigued, Ning Yi didn’t even care that she was nestled in Gu Cheng’s arms. Instead, she lifted her head with excitement.

“You can switch bodies!?”

Gu Cheng stayed silent, calmly brushing her dishevelled hair behind her ear to reveal her astonished expression.

Ning Yi: You sly old fox! You’ve been hiding this from me!

She squirmed indignantly in his arms. “Hubby! You didn’t even tell me—”

Gu Cheng tightened his hold on her waist. “Stop wriggling.”

Ning Yi flipped herself over dramatically and swatted at his overly “enthusiastic” leg. “Quiet, you!”

Gu Cheng: “?”

The light smack even made his leg twitch slightly.

Ning Yi’s suspicions deepened. If Gu Cheng is secretly capable of switching bodies, could he have also recovered his legs without telling me?

The foundation of trust between husband and wife wavered precariously.

Gu Cheng pulled her back down, tucked her into the blanket, and patted her lightly. “Sleep.”

Stop causing trouble.

Ning Yi: “Oh.”

In the middle of the night, Gu Cheng woke up, only to realize he was in Ning Yi’s body.

And Ning Yi was nowhere to be seen.

He sat up slowly, squinting as he listened. From the bathroom, he heard muffled sounds.

“Stand up! Come on, stand!”

It was Ning Yi, passionately cheering for his legs.

Stop pretending! Stand already!

Gu Cheng: “?”

With a sigh, he lay back down.

Goodnight.
