LLASBWUH Chapter 38

He’s Jealous Crazy!

The next day, Assistant Zhou arrived at Yunding Water Garden with the driver to pick them up.

There’s a saying that couples find “new sparks” in a fresh environment, but from the outside, nothing seemed much different. Gu Cheng was still exuding his cold and imposing aura, while Ning Yi remained relaxed, radiant, and carefree.

Assistant Zhou opened the car door for them, briefly wondering if he’d missed an opportunity to set a romantic mood for them—unlike the couple’s suite he had arranged during their business trip to S City, which had been much more atmospheric.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a faint bite mark on Madam’s neck.

Assistant Zhou: “!”

See no evil, see no evil.

He sat in the front seat, his mind racing with excitement.

Young Master! Truly, you’re a legend!

*Wan Shi Ru Yi* (Wander x Ning Yi) can’t hold a candle to the real couple!

The Elite Sports Day was just around the corner, and as per usual, Gu Cheng likely wouldn’t participate. However, Assistant Zhou had thoughtfully adjusted Gu Cheng’s schedule to ensure he could spare some time to attend and spectate.

A professional assistant must always anticipate their boss’s potential jealousy. After all, Gu Cheng might not know the specific sports events, but *he* did!

If Gu Cheng were to participate, it would undoubtedly be the highlight of the event.

In the minds of Assistant Zhou, the other assistants, and even the bodyguards, Gu Cheng’s athletic prowess was nothing short of extraordinary. The man wasn’t just a genius in business—he had once captivated countless fans as an equestrian champion. On top of that, his skills in horseback archery and long-distance running far exceeded the norm.

But ever since Gu Cheng began using a wheelchair, his athletic abilities had been overshadowed by his sharp intellect and business acumen, giving others a rare chance to shine in his absence.

*Sigh…* Assistant Zhou thought, sitting in the front seat.

At least that Wander guy didn’t seem too extraordinary. If Madam competed with him, the results probably wouldn’t be great. Once Gu Cheng’s legs recovered, Madam would surely see the difference.

The drive back from Yunding passed by the company, so Gu Cheng would be dropped off first, and then Ning Yi would be taken back to the estate.

While scrolling through her phone, Ning Yi checked the sports event’s registration options, planning to discuss them with Wan-ge later.

As she browsed, she remembered the event was taking place near the western equestrian grounds, where she and Gu Cheng had once swapped bodies to ride Xiao Hong the horse.

“Hubby,” she poked him, “why did you name that horse Xiao Hong (Little Red)?”

The horse was a striking mix of black and white, a far cry from red.

Gu Cheng looked up briefly and said, “If I recall correctly, when it first arrived, someone rode it and ended up with a face full of blood.”

Ning Yi: “?”

So you named it after the blood?

Very… morally questionable. I like it.

“It was Wang Wu,” Assistant Zhou chimed in, subtly hinting at Gu Cheng’s physical prowess. “Back then, Xiao Hong was only tame under Eldest Young Master Gu. He’s extremely skilled.”

Ning Yi clapped enthusiastically. “Wow~!”

Leaning back against the seat, Gu Cheng smirked slightly. “Next time we get a new horse, I’ll let you name it.”

He paused after saying it, realizing he had promised her a lot recently—time to view the yacht, time to make up for their missed honeymoon, and now time to visit the stables.

Meanwhile, Ning Yi nodded eagerly. “Yes, yes, yes!”

Gu Cheng thought, Fine. I’ll schedule it.

He glanced at her and asked, “What kind of name are you thinking of?”

Surely it wouldn’t be as random as his.

“Zhang Wei!” Ning Yi declared confidently.

Gu Cheng: “?”

He closed his eyes, clearly unimpressed.

For the sports event, Ning Yi decided to sign up for the ‘Co-operative Fun Triathlon.’

Most events required teamwork, and since it was a social gathering for the elite, the focus was more on flaunting relationships and socializing than serious competition. Only a few participants took the “sports” aspect seriously.

The men’s solo event featured a high-difficulty obstacle course. A safer, lower-difficulty version was available for women, but Ning Yi decided not to join—not because she was lazy, of course. ^_^

Other events on the second day included kayaking, swimming, horseback archery, and various couples’ games. These weren’t strict competitions; participants could join freely, adding an element of spontaneity.

The evening would feature a grand banquet for mingling among the elite.

Since the prizes weren’t high enough to tempt Ning Yi, a billionaire in her own right, she planned to have fun with Wander and then relax.

[Do we need to practice?] Wander asked casually over the phone.

He doubted there’d be anyone in this world worth competing against.

[No need! I trust you, bro! You’ll crush everyone effortlessly!] Ning Yi replied, her words always honeyed.

Wander: […]

Then, he went ahead and signed up for the men’s solo event himself.

Fine, let’s crush them effortlessly.

Meanwhile, Ding Ziyue, determined to crush Ning Yi at the event, dragged Jiang Linyi to practice with her every day. She even secretly stalked Wander’s livestreams, trying to figure out if he was training.

Fans had also asked about this, to which Wander replied with an easy-going smile, “No need to train.”

For Wander, individual events were as easy as slicing vegetables.

As for the duo events… his synergy with 01 had been honed countless times, often without their even realizing it.

Fans were hyped beyond belief.

Meanwhile, at home, Ding Ziyue was laughing hysterically.

“Victory! It’s in the bag!”

*”No need to train,”* huh? Where did they even get that confidence? Was it from playing apocalypse games? Hahaha!

This event was a major gathering for elite circles from several provinces, and Ding Ziyue was determined to prove herself as the most outstanding heiress among them. She was also going to show everyone that her relationship with Jiang Linyi was the sweetest of them all!

Her plan? To crush Ning Yi and Wander completely, forcing them into awkward moments of clumsy support for one another. This would disgrace Gu Cheng, and perhaps even erode whatever favour he still had for Ning Yi.

Honestly, Ning Yi was just too foolish. How could she agree to team up with Wander after a bit of provocation?

Clearly, the smartest person in the world was none other than Ding Ziyue!

She even prepared a solo dance performance to open the event, ensuring all eyes would be on her. It would be stunning, giving Jiang Linyi plenty of face.

Ah, I can’t wait!

Thanks to Ding Ziyue’s extensive build-up, the day of the Elite Sports Day finally arrived!

“Hubby, your darling has a competition today~”

Gu Cheng: “Good luck.”

For once, she hadn’t rolled around in bed or caused any chaos the night before, seemingly saving her energy for today. She actually looked quite serious.

The chef at home had prepared a nutritious, energy-packed breakfast for her, and Ning Yi ate with her cheeks puffed full like a hamster.

As Gu Cheng sipped tea, Assistant Zhou handed over some documents.

Flipping to the second page, Gu Cheng’s gaze landed on something unexpected—a sports day registration form.

Gu Cheng: “?”

Assistant Zhou: “Ah, Young Master, my apologies, wrong document! Let me—”

But with Gu Cheng’s speed and precision, he’d already scanned the page and caught Ning Yi’s name:

[Cooperative Fun Triathlon, Participants: Ning Yi, Wander.]

His dark, fathomless gaze shifted to Ning Yi, who was happily focused on her breakfast.

Assistant Zhou discreetly slipped away, knowing his job here was done.

When Ning Yi finished her meal and prepared to leave, Gu Cheng’s expression held an icy calm, tinged with restraint and a hint of warning.

Ning Yi, of course, didn’t pick up on it at all.

After all, her husband had shown no interest in the sports day! She figured it might even sadden him to attend, given his unhealed injury.

She puckered her lips and waved cheerfully. “Bye-bye, hubby! Your darling will do her best today and make you proud~”

Gu Cheng silently watched her bounce out the door.

I’ll wrap up the morning’s business and head over.

Assistant Zhou opened the car door, his smile brimming with pride in his scheduling skills.

I knew it— ‘Wan Shi Ru Yi’s’ arrogance wouldn’t last long!

Thus, under the spotlight of the entire elite circle, this year’s Elite Sports Day began.

The grand event was held in the western suburbs of A City, lasting two days and featuring a variety of fun sports activities, culminating in a highly anticipated banquet.

Heiresses and young masters from neighbouring provinces had arrived over the past few days, dressed in dazzling luxury attire, heading straight to the venue.

The event site, owned by the Gu Corporation, spanned the equestrian grounds and beyond, transformed into a professional-level outdoor sports base. It included tracks, spectator stands, and water project facilities. The mere application to use this land had already brought Gu Cheng another hefty profit.

Your business king is always raking it in.

The event site, however, was more of a social stage for high society than a sports competition. Decked in head-to-toe designer labels, the attendees were chatting casually about their family industries, radiating wealth and privilege.

By contrast, Ning Yi, with her hands clasped behind her back, strolling in casually, appeared refreshingly low-key.

As she scanned the crowd for familiar faces like Zhao Mochu or Song Qingmei, she felt the weight of numerous unfamiliar stares.

“Is that Ning Yi?”

“The one with the ridiculous birthday gifts?”

“Gu Cheng’s wife? She is quite pretty… hey, will Gu Cheng show up?”

Though many were unfamiliar with A City, Gu Cheng’s name was universally recognized, and a number of attendees had come with hopes of catching a glimpse of him.

Meanwhile, Ding Ziyue had already made her rounds, socializing extensively. Her delicate makeup and playful pleated skirt painted her as a lively social butterfly.

The moment she spotted Ning Yi, she fluttered over gracefully.

“Oh my~ Sis, why are you here all alone?”

Ning Yi: “Mm-hmm.”

Ding Ziyue pulled her toward a group of elite acquaintances she had just met from other provinces.

“Everyone, let me introduce you. This is my little sister, Ning Yi. You must be curious—why do we have different last names but are sisters? Well, it’s because my sister grew up in the countryside….”

Ding Ziyue employed a self-question-and-answer approach, sparing no effort to highlight the gap between Ning Yi’s background and her own, ensuring everyone noticed.

If it weren’t for Ning Yi’s recurring presence online, the elites at the event might have dismissed her as a rustic outsider, someone newly brought back into a wealthy family but entirely out of place in their world.

However—

Who hasn’t seen the yacht, house, and company Gu Cheng gifted her?

Even among their circle, birthdays usually amounted to receiving luxury handbags or designer clothes, much like Ding Ziyue herself. But Ning Yi wasn’t even a born heiress—yet she had Gu Cheng’s favour.

Which made them even more envious!

After finishing her monologue, Ding Ziyue suddenly pretended to recall something, smiling sweetly. “Oh, right, little sister, where’s your partner?”

Jiang Linyi had cleared his schedule to accompany her to the sports day. On this point, Ding Ziyue had already won—she was clearly adored.

Ning Yi glanced around the venue just as a man wearing a black mask strolled in lazily. Wander, with his unpolished demeanour, stood out starkly against the other meticulously groomed young masters.

His black hair was unkempt, his eyes half-closed, and his steps languid—he looked like he’d just rolled out of bed.

Ning Yi: Perfect. He’s definitely here to effortlessly crush everyone.

Ding Ziyue: Perfect. I’ve got this in the bag!

One glance at Wander’s sleepy, gamer-esque demeanour, and she was convinced. He’s probably been up all night gaming, with zero time for exercise—like most esports players.

How could such a person compare to Jiang Linyi? He didn’t even use stunt doubles for his action scenes, and his physical strength was impressive for a man. That’s what made his princess carries so heart-fluttering and secure!

Unless someone with freakish stamina showed up, no one at the event could possibly outperform Linyi-ge.

With a smug grin, Ding Ziyue leaned close to Ning Yi and declared, “You’ve only yourself to blame for not being smart enough. But now, there’s no way out for you!”

Ning Yi: “Huh?”

Ding Ziyue: “Get ready to taste defeat—together with your partner~”

Ning Yi scratched her chin thoughtfully. Oh, really?

With most participants in place, the Elite Sports Day officially began.

The grand event, live-streamed on CM and other platforms, drew massive attention online. CM, with its tested reliability, superior user base, and tailored target audience, naturally became the primary streaming platform.

As soon as the livestream opened, fans flooded in:

[Jiang Linyi, Jiang Linyi, Jiang Linyi, Jiang Linyi!]

[Here to witness the beautiful love between Jiang Linyi and Ding Ziyue~]

[Here for Ning Jie!]

[Wan Shi Ru Yi fans are ready!]

[Gu de Mo Ning fans are not backing down!]

Amid all this anticipation, the event began!

After opening remarks from the organizers and speeches by representatives from other provinces, the cheerleading squad took the stage for a lively opening performance, energizing the audience both online and in-person.

Once the cheerleaders cleared the stage, Ding Ziyue emerged with a dazzling smile, ready for her solo debut.

Finally, it’s my moment!

She felt all eyes on her—Jiang Linyi’s gaze, Ning Yi’s gaze, the attention of the A City elites, and those from other provinces.

Everyone’s eyes are my adrenaline!

Ding Ziyue performed a spectacular opening dance, filled with interactions for the audience and cameras. Her playful winks and heart gestures were effortless, perfectly catering to both online and live viewers.

Sitting below with Zhao Mochu and Song Qingmei, Ning Yi watched politely.

Zhao Mochu: “Did she eat ten idol trainees? She’s got fanservice down pat!”

Ning Yi: “Hahaha.” No wonder she’s the female lead.

Ding Ziyue’s dance had one central theme: I am the most beautiful! I’m the flower of A City! I’m not only breathtakingly gorgeous but also doted on by an actor who spoils me to the heavens!

When her performance ended, Jiang Linyi was the first to applaud, his gaze openly affectionate.

[The dance was, ummm… but the actor really dotes on her, aww.”]

[He looks at her like she’s his whole world!]

[Will my OTP ever reach this level of love?]

[Ahhh, the camera just panned to Ning Jie!”]

[So beautiful, so beautiful!]

Ding Ziyue returned to her seat next to Jiang Linyi amidst everyone’s applause, practically glowing with pride.

This is the respect I bring to Jiang Linyi!

I’m the most dazzling beauty in everyone’s eyes, yet I only belong to him. What man could resist that?

But just as Ding Ziyue sat down, Jiang Linyi stood up.

“Ziyue, I’m off to prepare for the men’s solo events.”

He’d spotted Wander moving toward the field—rumour had it he was Ning Yi’s partner for the day.

“Oh? Okay.” Ding Ziyue replied, a little taken aback.

She had hoped for another round of public displays of affection.

But the thought of Jiang Linyi soon dominating the solo events reignited her excitement. My man is going to crush everyone!

Jiang Linyi stepped onto the field in a fresh and sleek athletic outfit, his toned forearms on display, making it clear he maintained regular exercise.

As soon as he appeared, fans erupted in cheers both online and around the venue, even though spectators weren’t allowed into the competition area.

[Ahhh, Jiang Linyi, go for it!]

[He’s so handsome, I’m crying!]

The first event was the high game men’s individual obstacle race. With its large setup and one-person-at-a-time format, the event followed a timed ranking system. Falling onto the safety mats meant elimination, and completing all runs took a significant amount of time.

Ding Ziyue, standing on the side-lines, clasped her hands dramatically by her face, exclaiming delicately, “Linyi-gege, good luck! You’re the best~”

Meanwhile, Wander was preparing to take the stage. As he passed Jiang Linyi in the audience area, Jiang Linyi offered a friendly smile. “Wander, I’m doing this for my girlfriend, so let’s set aside any camaraderie today.”

Wander smirked slightly. “Sounds good to me.”

Instead of heading straight to the field, Wander strolled over to Ning Yi.

With a casual roll of his neck, his silver diamond earring caught the light as he tilted his head and asked with a lazy smile, “Which spot do you want me to take?”

Ning Yi sprawled contentedly in her seat. “Whatever you think works!”

Standard apocalypse rules: let the captain handle it first.

Wander chuckled. “Got it.”

Might as well grab the championship for her.

[Why does it suddenly feel like Wander’s aura has shifted?]

[Is he about to go all out to show off in front of Ning Jie?]

[Also… is it just me, or does he look oddly doting when he glances at her?]

The men’s obstacle race began!

Ding Ziyue took the opportunity to sit next to Ning Yi. “Oh my, little sister, aren’t you so nervous right now?”

With her flawless makeup and the confidence of a self-proclaimed A City beauty, Ding Ziyue was determined to outshine Ning Yi.

It took Ning Yi two seconds to respond. “Huh? What did you say?”

She had just mentally responded to Gu Cheng, who had contacted her to ask if her event had started. After replying, she’d refocused on the field.

Seeing this delay, Ding Ziyue assumed Ning Yi was too nervous to process anything. Struggling to contain her glee, she offered false reassurance. “Oh, don’t worry too much. Wander is just an esports player—average performance is normal. Don’t set your expectations too high.”

On the field, the man in the black mask casually removed his hoodie, revealing a black sleeveless shirt underneath.

It showcased arms that, while not often exposed to sunlight, were extraordinarily defined and muscular.

Ding Ziyue: “?”

She suddenly felt a creeping sense of unease.

Worse, she overheard the murmurs of nearby girls: “He’s so handsome!” “What’s his name?!”

Wait, those muscles—are they supposed to belong to a sedentary gamer?

The obstacle race featured ten challenges, including a water net climb, obstacle dodging, pull-up progression, and a rope climb, all of which seemed highly challenging.

The previous competitors, a mix of local and out-of-town elites, looked dashing but struggled to clear even three obstacles before falling.

When Jiang Linyi took the field, the best time so far was six minutes to complete all obstacles.

Jiang Linyi shared a lingering, tender gaze with Ding Ziyue, mouthing, “Wait for me.”

Clutching her heart, Ding Ziyue gazed back adoringly.

[Ahhh, so sweet!]

[This is what divine love looks like!]

Jiang Linyi launched into the course, showcasing the strength honed through years of wire work for action scenes. His speed and technique clearly outclassed the previous competitors.

Throughout his run, Ding Ziyue provided dramatic reactions:

“Ah! Careful, gege!”

“Gege, you’re amazing! How are you so handsome!”

“I’m completely smitten!”

Nearby, Ning Yi and her group could only think, Can we puke now?

Jiang Linyi ultimately completed the course in 4 minutes and 13 seconds, taking first place.

Ding Ziyue and Jiang Linyi’s fans, both online and offline, were overjoyed.

“Oh my, little sister, I didn’t expect Linyi-gege to be this amazing. Don’t feel too pressured—sisterhood first, competition second, right?”

Ning Yi: “Let’s stick with competition first.”

Ding Ziyue: “Heh.”

You’ll regret that. You’ll be crying soon enough—when I crush you underfoot.

Then it was Wander’s turn.

Still looking half-asleep, he didn’t even glance at his partner as he prepared.

Ding Ziyue’s lips curved into a smug smile.

But the moment the whistle blew, the man’s muscles tensed, his posture transforming into that of a predator poised to strike in the wild.

In a flash, he was off—

Within ten seconds, he had already cleared the net climb and obstacle dodging sections.

The audience hadn’t even processed what had just happened before Wander had reached the fifth challenge.

[What the hell—was Wander a special forces soldier in a past life?!”]

[I’m losing it. AHHHHHH!]

Wander breezed through the course like slicing through butter. Even before the final rope climb, he slowed down, turning to look at the audience.

Despite the distance, his gaze locked precisely onto Ning Yi.

He raised his hand, gestured briefly near his forehead, and pointed to her.

It was a signal only Ning Yi would understand.

The moment was captured in high-definition by the cameras.

[Ahhhhh, Wander’s the one to carry today!]

[Last time during Ning Jie’s birthday, Wan Shi Ru Yi took a massive BE (bad ending)—but they’ve made a comeback!]

[Ahhh, where is Eldest Young Master Gu?! If he doesn’t show up soon, this is going to get really messy! I’m living for the love triangle drama!!]

Meanwhile, Eldest Young Master Gu.

In the quiet, speeding Maybach, the air felt heavy as Gu Cheng stared at his laptop screen with a dark expression.

Assistant Zhou, seated at the front, sneakily finished watching the live broadcast on his phone. What’s up with this esports player? How is he this skilled?!

Gu Cheng’s narrowed eyes followed the livestream camera as it conveniently focused on Ning Yi’s face. She was laughing, her expression carefree and radiant.

On-screen, Ning Yi responded to Wander’s signal—a subtle gesture they had used for communication during their post-apocalyptic adventures. She mirrored the motion with a light tap on her forehead, looking both cool and effortlessly charming.

That moment of unspoken understanding was electrifying. It wasn’t just camaraderie—it carried an undeniable chemistry. The livestream captured fan screams in the background, and the online chat exploded:

[Wan Shi Ru Yi! Auspicious and perfect!]

[I’m dead! Wan Shi Ru Yi is trending up again!]

[Gu de Mo Ning stans are about to crumble—this is climbing over the wall territory!]

Gu Cheng: “…”

He leaned back into his seat, closing the laptop with a sharp motion.

A burning, sour sensation bubbled in his chest, like something had scorched him.

Despite the discomfort, Gu Cheng tried to think rationally. This man’s abilities are beyond what an average person should possess. Yet his background checks are simple—there’s no record of military or special forces training.

So, who is he?

And why does he share such an inexplicable rapport with Ning Yi?

Suppressing his emotions, Gu Cheng asked in a calm but slightly strained tone, “How much longer until we arrive?”

Assistant Zhou jolted upright. “Fourteen minutes.”

“Hmm.”

Assistant Zhou: He’s losing his cool! Eldest Young Master Gu is in a hurry to chase his wife!

If he doesn’t show up soon, even Gu de Mo Ning stans will start panicking!

On the field, Ding Ziyue was unravelling.

What the hell is this?! Why does Ning Yi get such a strong partner?!

Wander had not only smashed the record but had done so in one-third of Jiang Linyi’s time, moving with a superhuman ease.

Jiang Linyi, though shocked, handled the loss gracefully. When faced with such an overwhelming gap, even bitterness felt unnecessary.

“Ziyue, why do you look so pale?”

“I… I’m fine! Linyi-ge, we’ll definitely perform well in the triathlon later!”

Ding Ziyue forced herself to focus. So what if Wander is strong? That only makes Ning Yi look like the weak link!

No one can match someone like him. Ning Yi will be torn apart online!

The next event was announced over the loudspeaker: the mixed-gender triathlon.

Ding Ziyue clung to Jiang Linyi’s arm, regaining her confident smile. Together, they radiated affection, having practiced thoroughly to become the event’s most dazzling pair.

But just as the participants were preparing, the crowd stirred with excitement.

“Wait—is that Gu Cheng?!”

“Gu Cheng is here!”

Zhao Mochu closed her eyes in bliss. “I knew it! I freaking knew it!”

After that show from Wander, how could Eldest Young Master Gu not show up?

Online, the tables turned dramatically:

[Ahhh, that man!]

[He’s here, he’s here! And he brought a whole vat of vinegar with him!]

[Gu de Mo Ning stans endured this long—we knew true couples always prevail!]

[Careful, Eldest Young Master Gu might shut the whole event down with just one word, haha!]

When Gu Cheng arrived, the entire venue paused.

Not because anyone officially stopped the proceedings—but because everyone, naturally, turned to look.

Even those from the outer-province elite circles knew of Gu Cheng’s name and reputation.

His life, at not even thirty years old, was nothing short of legendary. A prodigy who had risen to fame as a teenager, expanded his empire with an unstoppable aura of dominance, and led Gu Corporation to new heights. Then, tragedy struck—three years as a comatose “vegetable.” Just as the world thought he was done, he awakened and returned with a vengeance.

Stocks soared, his decisions grew sharper, and under his leadership, Gu Corporation pivoted toward internet ventures, cementing an even stronger position in the market.

Now, as he stepped onto the scene, his presence alone was commanding.

Even Ding Ziyue, who had spent the past days preparing to crush Ning Yi, froze. Her carefully crafted confidence wavered.

What’s he doing here?!

Meanwhile, Ning Yi, utterly oblivious to the tension in the air, waved cheerfully from the side-lines:

“Hubby, you’re here! Did you come to watch me play?”

In the industry, Gu Cheng being hailed as the “only true business emperor” was not an exaggeration.

Rumours were just that—rumours. Only by witnessing Gu Cheng in person could one truly grasp the pressure and dominance he exuded.

The aura of a monarch, truly deserving of his reputation.

Even while seated in a wheelchair, the cold sweep of his gaze made everyone instinctively hold their breath.

“Thank goodness! Thank goodness…” someone murmured quietly.

Thank goodness this man isn’t perfect! His legs haven’t fully recovered yet!

Otherwise, if Gu Cheng were to one day stand again, fully healed—

Wouldn’t every elite family across the nation go mad?

And at that point, could the humble Ning family still be considered worthy of an alliance with Gu Cheng?

Ning Yi had been enthusiastically applauding Wander’s dazzling performance, but when she turned, she saw her own husband—the ultimate “King of Pretension”—making his entrance.

She then glanced at the reactions of those around her and realized Gu Cheng’s “monarch buff” extended far beyond A City’s elite circle; it worked on the whole world!

Ah, my husband really knows how to make an impression!

Delighted, Ning Yi waved cheerfully at her husband, mentally sending him a playful message: “Smooch smooch!”

“Hmph.”

Gu Cheng’s chest still burned sourly, his gaze fixed on her as he was escorted by the organizers to the best viewing spot on the main platform.

A microphone was set up before him. “Eldest Young Master Gu, do you have anything to say?”

Gu Cheng’s face was impassive: Yes, I’d like to say—stop the competition already.

After all, this land belongs to me.

But with all the poise of a true emperor, he merely gave a small nod. “No, proceed.”

“Understood!”

“Participants in the mixed-gender teamwork triathlon, please prepare to enter the arena!”

Ding Ziyue, seeing Gu Cheng’s arrival, felt her confidence surge once again.

Everything is going according to plan!

Wander might be strong, but that strength would only highlight Ning Yi’s incompetence. Soon, their awkward interactions would surely irritate Gu Cheng, driving him further into his anticipated “blackened” state!

Yes, the world was still on her side. She was the only one destined to live the ultimate life of a pampered heroine!

“Husband, you came to watch your darling compete, huh?”

Ning Yi cheerfully sent her message to Gu Cheng while heading toward Wander for the event.

Gu Cheng stared at her, his tone cold: “I came to inspect my land.”

Ning Yi chuckled uncontrollably. Still pretending, are we? No need to be so formal!

Wander glanced at Gu Cheng on the platform, then turned to Ning Yi as she approached. With a casual smirk, he asked, “So, do I look cool or what?”

Ning Yi enthusiastically replied, “Super cool! Absolutely stunning—”

A cold voice rang out from the main platform. “Why hasn’t it started yet?”

The organizers, alarmed by Eldest Young Master Gu’s impatience, quickly instructed the teams to organize themselves and begin the event.

The first challenge in the triathlon was pushing a giant inflatable pencil—roughly the height of two people and quite heavy—around a 400-meter loop and back to the starting point. The first team to finish would win.

Gu Cheng’s expression was unreadable. At least there’s no physical contact in this event.

Ning Yi patted the enormous pencil. Coincidentally, her team was grouped with Ding Ziyue and Jiang Linyi.

Ding Ziyue’s heart raced with excitement. Ning Yi is sure to look like a complete novice next to Wander. This is my time to shine!

The referee’s whistle blew—

Ding Ziyue immediately leaned into action alongside Jiang Linyi. “Come on, Linyi-gege! We’ve got this!”

Most pairs chose to push the pencil along the ground, only to find that the material’s high friction made it incredibly challenging. Others opted to flip the pencil forward instead.

Wander gave the giant pencil two experimental pushes, then glanced at Ning Yi.

“Let’s lift it,” he said casually.

Ning Yi instantly caught on. “Alright.”

The next moment, the two of them, moving in perfect sync, hoisted the massive pencil onto their shoulders like two seasoned special forces operatives and sprinted forward without breaking a sweat.

[AHHH, WHAT?!]

[Ning Jie is this strong too?! I’m officially obsessed!!]

Gu Cheng exhaled deeply and adjusted his posture.

He’d anticipated that they’d perform well, but witnessing it first-hand made him distinctly uncomfortable.

[Am I the only one analysing Eldest Young Master Gu’s expression right now?]

[No, I’m here too!!]

[That icy exterior mixed with unspoken displeasure… I’m hooked. Someone help me—]

Meanwhile, Ding Ziyue was painstakingly helping Jiang Linyi flip the giant pencil just fifty meters forward. She lifted her head, expecting to flash a sweet smile at him—only to see the backs of Ning Yi and Wander speeding toward the finish line.

“?!”

What the hell, why?!

By the time Ning Yi and Wander crossed the finish line, the other groups were still not halfway through.

From the finish line, Ning Yi threw a cheeky glance at the VIP platform where Gu Cheng sat, raising her brows in triumph.

The second event of the triathlon was a back-to-back ball relay.

The male and female partners had to trap a ball between their backs, without any other physical contact, and race to the end of the course as quickly as possible.

This round introduced a stamina element. Ding Ziyue was already exhausted from the first event, and Jiang Linyi, having done both the men’s single and this event, wasn’t looking too great either. Most participants were panting heavily, clearly worn out.

But Ning Yi looked light as a feather, while Wander’s face remained as composed as ever.

“Ready?” Ning Yi asked.

“Let’s go.” Wander replied.

Gu Cheng, sitting on the platform, folded his arms and stared coldly at them. No one dared to speak to him.

Although the ball provided some separation, the possibility of it falling—forcing them to adjust or interact more—clearly agitated him.

He shifted again, his posture growing stiffer, his gaze colder.

[Eldest Young Master Gu is officially restless, who else feels it?]

[This unspoken jealousy is killing me softly.]

[I’m more invested in this than if they kissed—help!!]

Unsurprisingly, Ning Yi and Wander raced to the other side without so much as brushing elbows.

Once again, they left the competition far behind.

Nobody could fathom how they achieved such seamless coordination, as if they had undergone rigorous training together.

Ding Ziyue, on the other hand, was both bitter and defeated. So when Wander said during his stream that he didn’t need practice, that was a lie, right? How sneaky!!

As Ning Yi jogged back toward the starting line, her gaze met Ding Ziyue’s strained, barely-holding-it-together smile.

Ding Ziyue consoled herself: It’s fine. I still have my ultimate move—cuteness and sweetness! Even if I lose in speed, I’ll win in chemistry and charm!

The final challenge of the triathlon was a classic three-legged race.

This was a quintessential teamwork event, often showcasing playful and intimate interactions between partners.

Ding Ziyue exchanged a loving look with Jiang Linyi as they tied their legs together, the process filled with sweet, lingering touches. Their over-the-top harmony drew envious sighs from the audience.

Wander, meanwhile, stood next to Ning Yi, holding the rope for their legs.

This event required them to bind one leg together, and they could either hold onto each other’s arms or adopt a more… intimate stance.

Kneeling, Wander secured the rope snugly but comfortably around their calves.

“Do you want to hold onto me?” he asked.

“Whatever works best,” Ning Yi replied.

The two began experimenting with different positions, testing which arrangement would give them the most stability—after all, despite their impeccable coordination, Wander’s towering 186cm height posed a challenge.

Just as their arms brushed against each other a few times during the trial runs, Gu Cheng’s icy gaze from the platform seemed to turn tangible, cutting through the air.

[AHHHHH, SOMEONE STOP ME, I’M SCREAMING.]

[Watching Eldest Young Master Gu get jealous is beyond satisfying… it’s delicious.]

Ning Yi, meanwhile, was mulling over whether holding Wander’s waist might be the better option for counterbalancing their height difference.

The difference in height and weight between her and Wander prompted Ning Yi to stretch out her slim arm to test holding onto his waist.

Then, a voice came through the microphone from the VIP platform:

“Ning Yi.”

Just two icy, detached syllables, as if nothing had been said yet everything was implied.

Ning Yi turned back, bashfully making a heart with her hands at Gu Cheng. “Aww, hubby, I know~ I’ll do my best!”

Then she turned back down and continued reaching out her hand.

Eldest Young Master Gu finally couldn’t hold back anymore.

He nearly stood up.

Just as he was about to rise from the wheelchair to stop them—

The scene in front of him suddenly shifted.

Faster than Gu Cheng could physically intervene by standing up—

He intervened by switching bodies instead. 🙂

Ning Yi, now sitting on the VIP platform: “Huh? OvO?”

The sudden, unpredictable body switch caught her completely off guard.

Gu Cheng, now in Ning Yi’s body, glanced down at the hand that was about to wrap around Wander’s waist and immediately yanked it back as though it were burned.

Wrap my arm around another man? Ha.

Gu Cheng crossed his arms, his expression completely unreadable.

Wander raised a brow. “Hm?”

As the race was about to start, Ning Yi quickly called out to him in their mental link: “Oh no, hubby, it wasn’t me! Let’s switch back!”

Gu Cheng sneered. “No need. I’ll handle it, darling.”

Wander looked down at “Ning Yi” and asked softly, “What’s wrong, 01?”

Gu Cheng: …01?

Ning Yi, sitting on the VIP platform, rested her chin on her hand as a sudden thought struck her. Recalling what Zhao Mochu had explained about their dynamic, a grin spread across her face: “Hubby, could it be… you’re jealous?!”

Gu Cheng had been bottling up his sour feelings for a while. At her words, he coldly tilted his chin up. “And if I am?”

Ning Yi: Wow! That King of Pretension aura! Amazing!

The referee prepared to blow the whistle. Ding Ziyue and Jiang Linyi stood intertwined, radiating sweetness, while other pairs huddled close.

Meanwhile, “Ning Yi” and Wander stood apart, looking like two upright comrades who had no intention of physical contact.

[Ahhh, I’m dying!]

[Did anyone notice? After Eldest Young Master Gu called out her name, Ning Yi hasn’t touched Wander once!]

[True couples are unbeatable! The vibes are insane!]

The referee asked, “Is everyone ready?”

Gu Cheng, arms crossed, remained cold and indifferent. He figured even without physical contact, they could still run the race. Wander didn’t mind either; he trusted their unspoken teamwork to secure first place regardless.

Ning Yi, however, was panicking internally. But you and Wander don’t have that kind of coordination, hubby! Can you even run properly like this? Won’t you trip?

Fine, go ahead, you jealous show-off husband. Keep up your act!

Ning Yi smirked mysteriously. You think you’re the King of Pretension? You’ve got a long way to go!

Just as the referee was about to blow the whistle, and Gu Cheng was preparing for his no-contact performance, the “man” sitting high on the VIP platform spoke.

He pointed at his own body below and, in an icy voice full of imperial authority, declared through the microphone:

“Ning Yi.”

“If anything happens to you, I will make everyone here pay.”

The entire stadium: “?!”

The audience, already overwhelmed by the intensity of the scene, collectively lost their minds.

“IS THIS WHAT TYRANT-LEVEL LOVE LOOKS LIKE?!”

Gu Cheng: “…”

…Fine.
