Ruan Ning took several sips of hot water to barely suppress the nausea in her stomach.
In order to understand more about the outside world, she continued scrolling through the thread. However, she never clicked on any more of those challenging images again.
Among the five thousand comments, the original poster never replied to anyone after the initial “prophecy” about the world ending in two hours. They had disappeared without a trace.
Various speculations arose in the comments. Some thought the original poster was just spouting nonsense and disappeared when their words didn’t come true. Others believed the poster might be a hidden expert or someone with prophetic abilities who could potentially save everyone.
Perhaps because this was a novel world, where anything was possible, there were surprisingly few speculations about the original poster being a reincarnator or a time traveller. Only a handful of people even mentioned it, as if they subconsciously ignored that possibility.
Contrary to the others, Ruan Ning believed the most plausible scenario for the original poster was reincarnation or time travel.
If the main male lead could reincarnate, what else in this world couldn’t happen?
As night fell, Ruan Ning didn’t dare to turn on the lights in her home. She only used a small bedside lamp in her bedroom, and the curtains were tightly drawn, fearing any light leaking out might alert others to her presence.
Before going to bed, while there was still running water, Ruan Ning took a relaxing hot bath, sprinkling a few rose petals in the water.
However, that night, Ruan Ning slept unusually restlessly.
First, she dreamt of herself turning into a hamster, whose only hobby was hoarding food. Every day, she tirelessly used her little furry paws to move things from one place to another.
Later, she dreamt of her deceased parents standing in a pure white space, their faces gentle, reminding her to take good care of herself. Ruan Ning tried to catch up with them, but no matter how hard she ran, she couldn’t reach them.
“Dad, Mom, don’t go——”
Ruan Ning suddenly woke up from her bed.
She unconsciously wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, her small face showing a trace of confusion. It took her a while to regain her senses.
Dreaming of her parents was understandable, but why did she dream of turning into a hamster?
Was this a case of “as you think during the day, so you dream at night”?
Just on the second day of the apocalypse, she was already feeling panicked about the lack of food?
The dreams were too realistic. Although it was only past six, Ruan Ning completely lost her sleepiness. She got up, intending to exercise a bit. If she couldn’t outrun zombies due to poor physical fitness and got caught, that would be too unfair.
“What’s going on?!”
Ruan Ning looked at herself in the mirror in surprise. There was a teardrop mole below the corner of her right eye, which she hadn’t noticed before.
If the original Ruan Ning and the original host both had a pure image, the appearance of this teardrop mole now made her current appearance a bit less pure and a bit more charming. Her beautiful eyes sparkled brightly.
Ruan Ning initially thought she hadn’t fully awakened and was hallucinating. She tried to wipe the mole several times, but with just a little force, the skin around the corner of her eye turned red, as if she was about to cry.
It also made her look more enticing, almost criminally so…
“…When did I become so delicate?!” Ruan Ning had never experienced hardship since she was little, but she couldn’t have been so sensitive that even a slight touch would make her skin turn red.
