After completing the mission back then, Gu Changzhou was shocked to hear the news of the annihilation of Lu Qiming’s team. However, the birth of his girlfriend’s child was more important, so he hastily returned to his country after receiving the reward.
Unfortunately, despite giving his all, he still couldn’t stay with her in the end.
Afterwards, he had to take care of his newborn daughter and busy himself with his career. After establishing his own company, there were piles of things waiting for him to do. He was so busy every day that he completely forgot about this person and never thought of him again.
This encounter with him surprised Gu Changzhou that he was still alive.
What intrigued him even more was how he had remained unchanged in appearance after more than twenty years.
It was obvious that there was some external force at work.
He had an old friend in the laboratory, who, upon hearing about this, showed an incredibly fervent interest, demanding that Gu Changzhou find out the reason no matter what.
Gu Changzhou held the syringe, his gaze always surrounding Lu Qiming.
After hearing his demand, the person on the bed just sneered.
“You didn’t die, so how could I die?”
“I know you hate me, but now is not the time to act on impulse. As long as you confess everything, you can continue to live, living like a human being.”
Gu Changzhou glanced at the water cup on the bedside table, a faint smile at the corner of his mouth.
“It seems you said back then that you weren’t interested in marriage. How about now? I see that she is devoted to you. If you die, she probably won’t live much longer either.”
This struck a painful point for Lu Qiming. He clenched his fist tightly and said in a deep voice, “I want to see the medicine first.”
“Don’t you trust me?”
“I want to trust you, but your credibility is not worth me doing that.”
Gu Changzhou sneered, “Do you think I’m stupid? If I give you the injection first and you go back on your word later, how can I explain it to the base?”
Lu Qiming turned his face away. “You have to weigh it yourself. Anyway, I have nothing left now, only this life. If I can live, it’s luck. If not… forget it.”
“Isn’t Jiang Miaomiao important to you in my hands? Don’t you care about her?”
Lu Qiming smiled confidently. “She would be willing to go with me.”
Seeing his annoying expression, Gu Changzhou endured for a long time and had no other choice but to agree.
“I will inject you now, but if you dare to go back on your word, don’t blame me for breaking the agreement and taking you back to the base.”
Lu Qiming listened casually, lifted the blanket, and said, “Where to inject? Not in the butt, though.”
Gu Changzhou sighed, “Give me your hand.”
If he could, he wanted to inject the needle into Lu Qiming’s tongue.
He extended one arm in front of him, rolled up the sleeve of his pajamas, revealing the horribly damaged skin underneath.
Gu Changzhou deliberately pinched it a bit, but there was no response from Lu Qiming, as if he had lost all sensation.
The color of his skin was too dark, and Gu Changzhou pressed inch by inch, searching for a vein.
Lu Qiming looked disgusted. “Does your wife know you’re such a pervert?”
Gu Changzhou paused for a moment and casually said, “I don’t have a wife.”
“What are you kidding about? Back then, you didn’t even care about your conscience just to marry her. Could it be that…” He sneered, “She still didn’t like you? She has good taste.”
Gu Changzhou thought of the past, his heart aching as if being twisted by a knife. He didn’t refute, just self-mockingly said, “I’m really useless.”
“Mm, as long as you understand. What about your child?”
“Dead.”
Lu Qiming was slightly surprised. “Difficult childbirth?”
“No.” He lowered his eyelids and finally found the target, inserting the syringe and slowly pushing the medicine in. “Maybe it was karma for the bad things I did.”
Lu Qiming had originally been quite happy to see his enemy suffering. After all, what could be more enjoyable than seeing your enemy in pain? But looking at him like this, he surprisingly couldn’t feel as happy as he thought he would.
All the medicine was injected, and he rubbed the injection site. “One injection can only last for a month?”
“Yeah.”
“If I keep taking it, will the mutation never happen?”
Gu Changzhou broke the syringe and threw it into the trash can, mocking, “What wishful thinking. If you keep taking it, the entire base has only produced ten doses so far. You should be content if you have one dose.”
Lu Qiming curled his lips. “It took almost a year to achieve this little progress?”
“Who doesn’t want it to be faster? But every day, we have to defend against zombie attacks, manage the order within the base, take care of the food and daily necessities of hundreds of thousands of people, and fight against the harsh weather here. The experimental samples are always problematic.
We’ve only been out of the city for less than a year, and it’s already quite difficult to achieve this progress amidst all the other busy tasks. It’s the result of everyone’s collective effort.
You don’t have to stand there and criticize.”
He shrugged and made a gesture for him to be quiet. “Alright, I won’t say anything.”
Gu Changzhou said, “Now can you be honest?”
He shook his head. “I haven’t seen any effect yet. Let’s wait two more days.”
Gu Changzhou suddenly doubted his decision. “Are you sure you’re not just trying to dodge the issue?”
Lu Qiming chuckled lightly. “To be this vigilant against someone who can’t even get out of bed, am I too formidable, or are you too incompetent?”
Gu Changzhou couldn’t be bothered to argue with him. “According to the medicine’s effect, there should be obvious reactions within three days. I’ll give you three days, and by then, you better talk, whether you want to or not.”
Lu Qiming leaned back, his expression somewhat enigmatic.
“No problem.”
Three days weren’t long, but for him now, every extra day was a little more profit.
It was a cost-effective deal anyway.
The fierce wind and snow beat against the aircraft, but inside the cabin, it was a warm little world.
Yuan Mubing brewed two cups of instant coffee and handed one to Jiang Miaomiao.
She held it in her hand and took a sip. The scalding liquid made her tongue tingle, but it made her feel much better.
“Thank you.”
Yuan Mubing sat down beside her.
“I’ve seen you before.”
“Really? I don’t remember.”
Although the original owner and the original female lead were students at the same school, they had never interacted. The original owner was busy working to earn a living, and hardly anyone paid attention to her at school.
As for later, she stayed in the city hiding, while the other joined the rescue team, so there was even less chance for them to meet.
“On the night before the appearance of the zombies, someone recommended a video to me, it was a live stream of your shopping list for supplies.”
Jiang Miaomiao was taken aback, only then did she recall that she had done such a thing.
At the time, she didn’t think much about it, she just wanted to remind people. After all, she had lived for so long without even killing a chicken. It was quite conscience-stricken to watch so many people die and not do anything.
Thinking about it now, it was indeed somewhat dangerous.
If someone had seen her live stream and came to grab things, she might not have had the chance to meet Lu Qiming.
Fortunately, that didn’t happen.
Jiang Miaomiao forced a smile, “Really?”
“To be honest, at that time, I thought you were quite funny.”
“Uh…”
“But the next day, I was proven wrong, so I’ve been wanting to meet you in person and ask you why you knew the world would enter the apocalypse on the second day.”
Jiang Miaomiao pondered for a moment and came up with a reason, “I’m quite accurate in my tarot card readings.”
Yuan Mubing frowned, “Just because of that?”
“Yes, before that, I’ve read the tarot cards over a dozen times, and each time the results pointed to that day when the world would undergo a change.”
She said it with conviction, but Yuan Mubing was a firm atheist.
She didn’t believe in gods, fate, or any of these spiritual matters.
“I hope you’ll tell me the truth. I can assure you that I won’t tell anyone else.”
Jiang Miaomiao said, “That’s the truth. By the way, I also understand palmistry, want me to take a look?”
Yuan Mubing skeptically extended her hand, letting her see her palm lines.
Jiang Miaomiao couldn’t make sense of anything but pretended to touch it for a while and then looked up with a mysterious smile.
“The person you like is right beside you, probably a colleague, also part of the rescue team, right?”
Yuan Mubing immediately withdrew her hand, “What kind of divination is this, it’s simply nonsense.”
“He’s surnamed Zhou, one year older than you, he was injured not long ago, right?”
The other person’s expression immediately changed, staring at her in astonishment.
Jiang Miaomiao smiled and asked, “Did I get it right?”
“Did you ask someone else about it?”
“Where would I ask? You should know, I’ve been hiding in the city for almost a year, and I never had any contact with you guys.”
Could it be that she heard about it before the apocalypse broke out?
That seemed unlikely; at that time, she and the other person were merely acquaintances and didn’t have much interaction.
The most crucial point was that she had never told anyone about her feelings for him.
Yuan Mubing’s face changed several times, unable to admit that she was right, yet unable to refute her.
Jiang Miaomiao was concerned about Lu Qiming and showed a bit of pleading.
“I can predict your future. As an exchange, can you try to save him? Please?”
Yuan Mubing was somewhat hesitant, “It’s not a matter of whether I want to or not.”
“But you just said you might have a way? Don’t deceive me. As long as you can save him, I’ll do anything.”
Jiang Miaomiao became emotional, her eyes reddening.
Yuan Mubing shook her head.
“What I meant was, I can help you with your situation, but not his.”
“What?”
“Your divination has no scientific basis, but it is indeed accurate. It may help survivors find a new path. I’ve been working to get capable women involved in post-disaster reconstruction work, so here, as the deputy leader of the Fourth Rescue Team, I invite you to join us. Would you like to?”
Jiang Miaomiao looked at her blankly.
Yuan Mubing thought she was hesitating and tried to persuade her.
“By joining the rescue team, you can enjoy the treatment of the survivors in the base, with food distribution, medical assistance, and protection when necessary. You only need to play to your strengths and work with us.”
She lowered her head disappointedly.
“You really have no way to save him, do you?”
Yuan Mubing frowned, “Are you still thinking about this? Saving all the survivors and restoring humanity to the city is much more meaningful than holding on to one dying person, isn’t it?”
Jiang Miaomiao smiled bitterly, “Indeed, it is more meaningful. But survivors already have you all, and he only has me.”
Yuan Mubing was stunned.
“I’ve calculated that returning to the city will be successful, it just takes time. Now, I want to cherish time and go back to be with him. Thank you for the coffee, it was delicious. Goodbye.”
Jiang Miaomiao handed the cup back to her, wrapped her clothes tightly, and walked out of the aircraft. She happened to meet Gu Changzhou and others coming out from inside. She was startled and hurriedly ran over to ask:
“What are you doing here? Did you just see him?”
The wind and snow were too heavy, and she was wearing a face mask, so Gu Changzhou couldn’t hear what she was saying at all.
Having been frustrated with Lu Qiming, he had little interest in talking to this woman. But before turning away, he suddenly thought that if his daughter was still alive, she should be about the same age as her.
“Daddy, this is the medal I’m awarding you for being the best daddy in the world.”
The naive words she had heard more than a decade ago echoed in his ears. At that time, his daughter had just learned to speak and understood the meaning of a medal. She immediately asked the nanny to take her to the streets and bought him one.
How good would it be if she was still alive?
Gu Changzhou’s nose felt sore, and inexplicably, he reached out and touched her head.
Jiang Miaomiao was puzzled, not understanding what had just happened.
He snapped back to his senses, quickly retracting his hand as if shocked by electricity, and hurriedly walked into the aircraft.
“Miss Jiang, are you coming in? We need to lock the door.”
One of the subordinates reminded her.
Jiang Miaomiao glanced at the aircraft and quickly walked into the shelter.
The heavy door closed behind her, and warm air surrounded her.
“Woof woof!”
Jiang Rou Rou, who couldn’t find her before, now ran excitedly to her and hugged her leg.
She patted the dog’s head, taking off her clothes and heading towards the bedroom.
Lu Qiming was sleeping.
The bed was too short, and he was too tall, with both feet almost sticking out of the bed.
Jiang Miaomiao pulled the blanket to cover his toes and then squatted down beside the bed, silently looking at his face.
“Don’t stay beside me and say nothing.”
Suddenly, this phrase popped into her mind, and she smiled, gently holding his hand and whispered:
“I love you.”
In his dream, Lu Qiming’s lips curved slightly, as if dreaming of something happy.
Jiang Miaomiao closed the door and went to the kitchen to cook.
Living meant having to eat, and when you eat, you should choose what you like, eat more, and eat well. Eating more means earning more.
As for what happens after death, well, that’s something for after death.
Lu Qiming couldn’t digest solid food well, so she made him porridge, prepared fried rice for herself and Jiang Rou Rou, accompanied by pickled mustard and beef jerky, and orange-flavored beverages, all served on clean white porcelain plates and placed on the dining table.
There was a bunch of fake flowers on the TV cabinet, which she wiped clean with a cloth and also placed on the table.
From a distance, this meal looked quite decent.
“Okay, let’s eat.”
Jiang Miaomiao walked towards the bedroom, preparing to wake Lu Qiming up. When she pushed open the door, she found that he was already awake, sitting on the bed with his back to her, doing something she couldn’t see.
Had he already turned into a zombie?
She cautiously called out, “Lu Qiming.”
He turned around, his gaze still focused. She breathed a sigh of relief, walked over, and patted her chest.
“You scared me. Let’s go out for a meal. I’ll help you.”
“Wait.”
“Hmm?”
“Slap me.”
“…How come I didn’t know you had this fetish?”
Would the zombie virus invade the brain and change a person’s preferences, turning them into a sadomasochist?
Ugh, that’s terrifying.
Lu Qiming urged, “Hurry up.”
Jiang Miaomiao had no choice but to comply, raising her hand and giving him a slap on the face, making a loud sound.
Lu Qiming: “Who asked you to slap me?”
“You asked me to give you a smack.”
“Can’t you slap me on the body?”
Jiang Miaomiao was taken aback, “Then should I do it again?”
Lu Qiming quickly refused, but he was feeling excited.
His face, it has sensation now!
The medication had started to take effect in his body, suppressing the virus’s activity.
However, the time was too short, and the effect was not significant yet. He still needed Jiang Miaomiao’s support to walk to the dining table.
After sitting down, Lu Qiming sniffed slightly and faintly smelled the aroma of the food. His mood improved even more.
Jiang Miaomiao scooped up a spoonful of porridge, behaving like a qualified kindergarten teacher.
“Ah, open your mouth.”
He declined, “I want to eat that.”
She looked and found that he was referring to the beef fried rice, but she disagreed.
“You can’t chew that.”
Beef can get stuck in your teeth. What if a few teeth fall while eating, that would be too troublesome.
Lu Qiming persisted, “I just want to taste that.”
When he ate earlier, he had no sense of taste and couldn’t taste anything.
Jiang Miaomiao couldn’t convince him, so she had no choice but to bring the plate over and feed him while saying, “You eat, but if you end up losing all your teeth and become a toothless zombie, I won’t walk with you.”
He raised an eyebrow, “Then who will you walk with?”
“I’ll find someone handsome.” She enthusiastically imagined.
“Since so many people in the world have turned into zombies, there must be many handsome ones among them. Now, with no difference in status, no need for spiritual communication, and no property distribution involved, we can choose partners based solely on looks.”
Lu Qiming was irritated, “Give up, I won’t give you that chance.”
She shrugged and continued feeding him.
Lu Qiming had a good appetite, not only finishing half a plate of fried rice in one go but also drinking the beverage.
Not long after finishing the meal, he said he needed to go to the bathroom. Jiang Miaomiao helped him to the restroom and waited outside, looking at the ceiling while he finished.
When he came out, she felt strange and rubbed her nose.
Lu Qiming asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Is my nose blocked?”
“Who said that?”
“It was very smelly during the day, but now it’s not that bad.”
She cupped his arm and sniffed hard, the result was the same, the smell had reduced significantly.
Lu Qiming said, “Oh, so you’re disgusted by me. You heartless little thing.”
“No, no, I was talking about myself. I tend to pass gas a lot, alright?”
Since the smell wasn’t that bad anymore, there was no need to take a bath. Washing him yesterday tired her out.
Jiang Miaomiao was also too lazy to bathe. In this icy and snowy weather, she just brushed her teeth and washed her face, then crawled into the bed.
There was a small bookshelf next to the bed. She flipped through it and found a collection of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales, flipping through it with interest.
Lu Qiming poked her face.
“Don’t read, let’s chat.”
He hadn’t told her the good news yet.
Jiang Miaomiao absentmindedly responded, “Sure, let’s chat.”
He was a little annoyed, “Look at me, that’s a sign of respect.”
She reluctantly put down the book she had barely read a few lines of and looked up, sitting up straight.
“What should we chat about?”
Lu Qiming initially wanted to tell her about injecting himself with the medicine, but under the warm yellow light, she looked incredibly beautiful.
Her appearance was delicate and fragile, but inside, she was unimaginably strong.
He couldn’t resist the itch in his heart, leaned over, and kissed her, then prepared to confess.
“Miaomiao, I…”
She covered his mouth, “You haven’t brushed your teeth!”
“…Don’t spoil the moment.”
“Okay, I admit, I’m repulsed by your smell. It’s not just your body; your breath is getting worse too. When I bathed you yesterday, I had to control my breathing and almost passed out. Last night, I secretly pulled cotton to plug my nose, and it took a lot of effort to take it out today.”
Lu Qiming: “…Really?”
“Yeah.” She nodded honestly and then added, “But I’m just repulsed by your smell, not by you. I’m saying all this to tell you… before I was bitten, don’t kiss me, especially not with tongue.”
If she spat into his mouth, it would be really embarrassing.
She wasn’t afraid of death, but she wanted to leave behind some beautiful memories before dying.
Lu Qiming’s excitement was poured with a bucket of cold water, and he felt deflated. His mood vanished, and he lay back expressionlessly.
Jiang Miaomiao asked, “What did you want to tell me?”
“Nothing.”
“Oh.”
She picked up the storybook again, stealing glances at him.
His face was tightly drawn, clearly holding back his emotions.
Jiang Miaomiao pursed her lips, once again putting down the book and moved over to hug him.
His voice was icy, “Let go, I’m afraid of fumigating you.”
“It’s okay; I’m used to the smell.”
“… “
“What do you want to tell me? Come on, say it,” Jiang Miaomiao urged, her voice soft and pleading.
“I have,” Lu Qiming couldn’t hold it back any longer, waiting for this opening. He cleared his throat and said, “I injected the medicine.”
“What medicine?”
“The one developed by the experts in the base. It can suppress the virus’s activity, one syringe lasts for a month.”
She was overjoyed, “Really? That’s great! No wonder you had an appetite for dinner! I’m so happy, sniff!”
As she spoke, she hugged him even tighter. Lu Qiming was still weak, almost suffocated by her slender arms.
“Cough, let go…”
Jiang Miaomiao hurriedly loosened her grip a little but still held him like a precious treasure.
“Why did they give you the injection? Were there any conditions?”
“Yes.”
“What conditions?”
“They wanted me to confess the reason for my survival.”
“So, you have to tell them about being captured and experimented on?”
Jiang Miaomiao felt uneasy and had many speculations.
“Do those people want to continue using you for experiments? Or do they have other plans? Sigh, why does the suppression only last for a month?”
“What’s wrong with a month?”
“If it lasted longer, we could just escape now.”
Escape?
Lu Qiming pondered for a moment and pinched her cheek.
“Wouldn’t that be a bit untrustworthy?”
Jiang Miaomiao said, “Well, they deceived you in the first place, didn’t they?”
Moreover, she already knew the ending of the story; eventually, there would be peace, and he wouldn’t be involved in it.
If that’s the case, why endure unnecessary suffering?
Lu Qiming couldn’t help but smile, “If that’s the case, I need your help.”
“What help?”
He gestured for her to come closer, and they whispered to each other in the warmth of the bed.
The next evening, the communicator in a certain office of the base rang harshly.
The responsible person quickly answered the call, and a panicked face appeared on the screen.
“Help! We need help! Save us!”
“Miss Jiang? What happened?”
“I don’t know; he seems to be mutating. He’s trying to bite me! Did you give him the wrong medicine? I can’t hold on much longer! Help! Ah!”
A scream rang out, and the communication was cut off.
The responsible person didn’t dare to delay and hurriedly went to find Gu Changzhou.
Later that day, Gu Changzhou flew to a certain city with a team to transport the national reserve food from a warehouse back to the base. Due to limited aircraft and zombie interference on the way, they could only bring back less than a third of the food today, and they needed to make several more trips.
Upon hearing this news, he handed over the command to his deputy and hurriedly flew to the private shelter with a few people carrying boxes of medicine.
Before entering, Gu Changzhou opened the monitor to observe the situation inside. There was no one in the living room, and their dog was lying in a corner, covered in blood and seemingly lifeless.
In the bedroom, Lu Qiming was seen crouching in a corner, his back to the camera, as if holding something and nibbling on it.
Where was Jiang Miaomiao? There was no one in the kitchen. Could she be in the only restroom without a surveillance camera?
Gu Changzhou quickly gave orders to his subordinates. Several of them opened the door, holding guns, ready to shoot Lu Qiming.
“Help! Save me!” A figure suddenly rushed out, embracing Gu Changzhou.
The person was petite and delicate, and the impact left him stunned for several seconds before he came to his senses. “Jiang Miaomiao?”
She was covered in blood, crying as she looked up. “Thank goodness you’re here!”
“Has he turned into a zombie?”
“Sob…”
Wasn’t she quite confident earlier? She said she would follow him even if he became a zombie. Did she regret it now?
Gu Changzhou wanted to mock her a bit, but seeing her pitiful appearance, he didn’t have the heart to do so. He pushed her away and said, “I’ll handle it.”
Jiang Miaomiao clung to him like a plaster, unwilling to let go. “Don’t leave, I’m scared!”
“Let go.”
“Mom and Dad, I want to go home, sob…”
She clung to him, sobbing loudly, no longer the strong and brave appearance she had before. She looked more like a frightened little girl.
Looking at her, Gu Changzhou felt as if he were looking at his own daughter crying. After a moment of silence, he instructed his subordinates, “You guys go in. If he has turned, shoot him. If not, give him another injection.”
“Yes, Captain.”
The three subordinates pushed open the bedroom door and walked in. Gu Changzhou retracted his gaze, hesitantly patting the person in his arms.
“I’m not leaving. Can you let go now?”
Jiang Miaomiao cried, “I don’t want to stay here. I almost got bitten by him just now. Can you let me stay in the plane? Please, I’m begging you.”
His gaze softened, rare tenderness in his eyes, as if looking at his precious child.
“Go.”
The two of them put on their snow gear and left the shelter, heading to the aircraft parked outside.
Gu Changzhou poured hot water from the thermos into a cup of powdered milk for her, his tone gentle like that of a father.
“I told you before, he’s not a good choice.”
Jiang Miaomiao didn’t say anything, just holding the cup and crying.
“Are you hurt? Let me check.”
Gu Changzhou raised his hand, but she shrank back, her red eyes filled with vigilance.
He smiled and said, “Don’t misunderstand, I’m not interested in you. I’m old enough to be your father.”
Jiang Miaomiao chuckled self-deprecatingly, “I don’t have a father.”
“But just now…”
“Maybe the more you lack something, the more you want it. I was thrown into an orphanage since I was little and grew up there.”
She gazed at the interior of the aircraft, as if reminiscing.
“But I always have this dream, dreaming that I go out to buy gifts for my father. He’s always busy, but he loves me very much. I really wish I could never wake up…”
Gu Changzhou’s heart skipped a beat, “When did you enter the orphanage?”
“I can’t remember exactly, maybe around three or four years old. The director said they found me by the river, and I could already speak then.”
He tensed every nerve in his brain and stared at her intently.
“What were you wearing when they found you?”
“I…”
Jiang Miaomiao felt embarrassed. She never paid much attention to details while reading, especially when it came to romance novels. How could she remember such tiny details?
About to come up with an excuse, the cabin door opened, and a familiar voice rang out.
“Alright, game over. Get out.”
Jiang Miaomiao looked up, and Lu Qiming stood there with a gun, throwing her a seductive wink.
The medicine was very effective. In just a day and a night, his strength had recovered to seventy percent, and his damaged skin was rapidly healing.
Her pounding heart returned to its place, and she immediately ran to stand behind him.
Gu Changzhou’s expression changed multiple times, and finally, he said indignantly, “You tricked me!”
“No, no, no, this isn’t trickery,” Lu Qiming laughed smugly, “This is called tit for tat.”
He asked in a low voice, “What do you want to do? Kill me to avenge your grudge from back then? There are patrols near the base, you won’t be able to escape!”
“D45, do you know what I’ve wanted to do the most in these years?”
“…”
“I wanted to tie you up and throw you on the road, then drive over you again and again until you’re minced meat. But since my little friend is here today, I won’t do something that bloody. Let’s go for something simpler.”
Lu Qiming signaled to Jiang Miaomiao with his eyes.
She found a rope from the cabin and walked up to Gu Changzhou.
“Please put your hands together.”
Gu Changzhou asked hesitantly, “Were you serious about what you said just now?”
She remained silent. Seeing that he didn’t want to cooperate, she had to do it herself, binding his hands together.
Gu Changzhou was in a hurry. He only brought three subordinates, and they were all in the bedroom. Therefore, there was no one on the plane to help him.
Was this woman really his daughter?
If she isn’t his daughter, why does she know so much?
Gu Changzhou wanted to resist, but he was afraid of hurting her. Before he could figure things out, she had already tied him up skillfully.
Lu Qiming frowned in dissatisfaction.
“You tied it wrong.”
Jiang Miaomiao was surprised, “Really? I followed the steps you told me, which step was wrong?”
“Here.”
He carried the gun and walked over to adjust the ropes, reinforcing them while teaching her.
Jiang Miaomiao suddenly understood, “Oh, I see. I’ll remember it.”
Gu Changzhou was so angry that he could almost emit smoke. “You two are going too far!”
Lu Qiming patted his face, pulled down his scarf to cover his mouth, and dragged him into the shelter.
Inside the bedroom, Gu Changzhou found his subordinates with black and blue faces, wrapped tightly in bed sheets and blankets.
When they saw him, they felt embarrassed and didn’t dare to greet him, keeping their heads down.
He felt dizzy and almost passed out.
“Thank you for your hospitality these past two days. I wish you all sweet dreams.”
Lu Qiming locked the door and left with long strides.
Inside the cabin, Jiang Miaomiao curiously examined the complicated buttons, but after looking for a long time, she couldn’t make sense of them.
Lu Qiming came back with many things – sleeping pills for Jiang Miaomiao, several large bags of food, and most importantly, the box.
She hurriedly ran over and asked excitedly, “How many are in there?”
“Nine.”
Even Lu Qiming was surprised when he saw the number.
One syringe lasts for a month, and nine syringes would last for nine months, approximately a whole year.
Great!
Jiang Miaomiao hugged him happily, but he reflexively dodged.
She immediately frowned, “I didn’t mind your smell before, but now you mind my period blood smell? Jerk!”
“I’m sorry.”
Lu Qiming held his breath and hugged her, apologizing repeatedly.
They shook hands and made up. Then they went into the cabin to get to work.
