TVFCATEOD Chapter 81

It must be something he did wrong that caused Qingqing to leave.

Shen the zombie’s crimson eyes were filled with an emotion called pain. Restless and uneasy, he kept shouting, “Qing… Qing.”

Now that he was a fifth-rank zombie, he could only struggle to express his emotions with a few words. He wanted to say so many things to Qingqing, to make her not afraid of him, as long as she stayed by his side, he would do anything.

If she wanted him to be obedient, he would be obedient. If she wanted him to kill zombies, he would go and kill. He would do anything for her.

“Qing… Qing.” He aimlessly wandered around the town, searching tirelessly, without rest, just hoping to find a trace of her.

The black cat followed him at first, but after searching for a while, it stopped and lay exhausted on the ground.

Bai Qingqing originally planned to hide in the space for a few hours, wait for him to give up searching, and then leave the town for the City of Death. Little did she know that he would search for her like a madman.

Fortunately, she could stay in the space for longer and longer periods of time. As long as he gave up, she could leave the town and head to the City of Death.

Shen the zombie searched for another day and night, for dozens of hours. He hadn’t closed his eyes, and his silver-grey pupils had lost their lustre. His body was dirty, completely different from the exquisite man he used to be.

He collapsed dejectedly in the middle of the desolate road, staring blankly at the sky. It seemed like he was the only one left in this desolate world of the apocalypse.

Why did Qingqing leave? Where did she go?

After an unknown amount of time, he lifted his hand, noticing the bandages stained with ashes. The butterfly bow she tied for him had come undone and looked messy.

He sat up abruptly, clumsily trying to tie a butterfly bow with his right hand, imitating her. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get it right.

After several attempts, he still couldn’t tie the bandage properly like she did. He hung his head in despair.

“A drop.” A crystal clear tear fell to the ground and shattered into flowers.

Advanced zombies gradually regained their sense of pain and emotions, developing towards becoming more human. However, zombies couldn’t shed tears. He must have been too sorrowful and in pain that tears flowed from his dried-up eyes.

Drop by drop, they fell onto his slightly dirty and pale cheeks, splashing onto the ground.

“Qing… Qing.” Shen the zombie’s hoarse throat couldn’t produce a sound. His heart spasmed in pain as he choked out, “Please… you.”

When Bai Qingqing was with him, she never revealed where she went. Illiterate and unfamiliar with directions, he had no destination or direction.

The red moon hung in the sky, casting eerie red light. The rain poured down, coldly drenching his body, soaking him all over.

“Meow~” The black cat meowed at him from under the eaves.

That zombie was actually lying outside in the rain, completely soaked. He was so silly.

The rain fell all night, and he endured the cold rain for the whole night.

The next day, Shen the zombie got up and continued searching, looking dishevelled like a wild dog, making whimpering sounds.

Bai Qingqing didn’t appear, and he couldn’t find her anywhere. He turned his head and stared at the black cat, his mind instantly filled with a killing intent, and his sharp claws attacked it.

The

black cat let out a horrifying cry, on the verge of death. He abruptly stopped, grabbed it and held it in his arms.

Qingqing liked it, so he couldn’t kill it.

Shen the zombie carried the black cat and left the town, returning on foot along the deserted road. No matter where Qingqing was, he would find her.

Bai Qingqing left the path he took back and finally came out of the space. She quickly got into her car and rushed towards the City of Death.

She didn’t expect Shen the zombie to regard her as so important. If a person like him, who didn’t sleep or rest, continued searching, his body would have given out long ago. Yet he kept searching for her.

Fortunately, he gave up.

Bai Qingqing stared at the road ahead, going in the opposite direction from him. For some reason, she felt a little lost in her heart.

The next time they meet, it might be a long time from now. By then, he should have regained his memories. Whether it’s love or hatred, she occupies a place in his heart.

Having spent many days in the town, Bai Qingqing stepped on the accelerator to the maximum, driving as if in a high-speed race.

She finally understood how exhilarating and thrilling it was to play racing. The roads were destroyed after the apocalypse, with occasional obstacles on the sides, resembling natural wild tracks.

She didn’t stop for two days, driving non-stop towards the City of Death. Finally, on the third evening, she arrived at the destination.

The City of Death was the most dilapidated and filthy city in this world. The steel forest rusted, buildings were damaged, highways and bridges were broken, and the roads were filled with scrapped cars. She could even see remnants of planes and subways.

Perhaps due to the daytime, she temporarily didn’t see any zombies. The city was silent, as if everything rested at night, and the quieter the atmosphere, the more terrifying it felt.

Bai Qingqing cautiously slowed down the car, driving while paying attention to the surroundings.

The City of Death, the paradise of zombies, almost devoid of humans. She had to find the Thunder Squad in this dead city and reunite with them.

Suddenly.

It seemed like the car’s tire was punctured by something. She waited for a moment, then opened the car door to check. If this car broke down, she would have to retrieve another one from the space.

“Roar~” The sound of zombies came from somewhere.

A group of zombies suddenly emerged from nowhere, running towards her position. She immediately flipped back into the car and swiftly swung her vine to clear the zombies.

The number of zombies was too high, and they were getting closer to her position. Just as she was about to hide in the space, the sound of gunshots rang out, and in a moment, all the zombies were eradicated.

Bai Qingqing looked up and saw a modified car screeching to a stop not far away. The car door opened, and two men got out, one in front and one behind.

“Big brother.” Bai Qingqing jumped down from the car and ran towards them.

The Thunder Squad couldn’t find Bai Qingqing. They set off towards the City of Death and didn’t find any trace of her along the way. The members of the squad were feeling down, especially Xiao Yang. The tall teenager’s eyes turned red, and he shouted, “Qingqing!”

Bai Qingqing glanced at him quickly and rushed towards Fu Chen. The man instinctively took a step forward, opening his arms to catch her.

Like a little bird, Bai Qingqing threw herself into the man’s arms, holding him tightly. “Big brother, I finally found you.”

Fu Chen’s slender and powerful arms embraced her, giving her a surreal feeling. He tightened his grip, his strength as if engraving her into his bones and blood. Involuntarily, he lowered his head and kissed her hair. “Qingqing.”

On the day of their separation, she was angry with him, and he didn’t have a chance to express his feelings to her again before she disappeared from his sight.

He hated himself for not protecting her well and for making her angry. Fortunately, she returned to his side once again.

Xiao Yang watched Fu Chen embrace Bai Qingqing with jealousy, his eyes almost shooting fire. Having an elder brother identity was really good, being able to be intimate anytime, anywhere.

Liang Zhiyu interrupted the reunion of the siblings and spoke up. “Let’s get on the car first.”

Fu Chen let go and held Bai Qingqing’s hand as they got on the car together. When they reached the living room, Bai Qingqing saw Bai Tiantian and Li Jin, which surprised her. Wasn’t Bai Tiantian abducted by the intelligent zombie?

Indeed, she was the main character favoured by fate, treated differently. Even if she was captured by the intelligent zombie, she would be rescued unscathed by the protagonists.

Bai Tiantian looked at Bai Qingqing, who had returned, and bit her lip, forcing a smile. “Qingqing.”

She also didn’t expect Bai Qingqing to get lost in the dangerous Mist City and still manage to find her way safely to the City of Death.

Li Jin also greeted Bai Qingqing.

Xiao Yang was assigned to the driver’s seat, and the rest of the people sat in the living room.

Fu Chen held Bai Qingqing’s hand, his pitch-black eyes staring at her delicate face. He reached out to push aside a strand of hair that fell near her ear and said in a deep voice, “You’ve lost weight.”

Bai Qingqing’s clear eyes flickered slightly. “Big brother, have you found the virus source?”

“Not yet,” Li Jin replied solemnly. “The virus source is in the research institute, but the main gate of the institute is sealed. We haven’t found an entrance yet.”

A cup of warm water was placed in front of her. Liang Zhiyu sat opposite her and said, “Did you drive here alone?”

The journey from Mist City to the City of Death was arduous, long, and dangerous. She went through many hardships alone for half a month to reach here, so it’s no wonder she has become thinner.

Bai Qingqing’s eyelashes trembled slightly as she held the cup in her hands, remaining silent. She hesitated whether to tell everyone about Shen Mingxuan. He should have given up on finding her and gone somewhere else with his kind, right?

“Qingqing, Shen Mingxuan went missing. Have you seen him?” Bai Tiantian looked sad and said, “If it weren’t for saving me, he wouldn’t have disappeared.”

Bai Qingqing looked up at her and asked, “To save you?”

Fu Chen said, “Shen Mingxuan went to Mist City to chase after the Tier 5 zombie that abducted Bai Tiantian and lost track of him.”

Bai Qingqing lowered her eyes slightly and lied calmly, “I haven’t seen him.”

Shen Mingxuan is no longer one of them. In the future, they might even become enemies. It’s better not to tell them this news. It’s better to be missing than to turn into a zombie.

Bai Tiantian’s eyes turned red, blaming herself. If it weren’t for her being abducted, Shen Mingxuan wouldn’t have disappeared. Where could he be?

Shen, the grieving zombie, sometimes ran and sometimes walked. The black cat perched on his shoulder, watching him kill zombies along the way without stopping, rushing towards Mist City like a mad dog.

The sunset stained the sky red, and the mist-shrouded city appeared strangely enchanting. He had returned to the place where he first met Qingqing.

Shen, with his silver-grey pupils filled with grievances and sadness, couldn’t understand why Qingqing didn’t want him anymore.

His heartache was unbearable, even more painful than any physical injury.
