The scientific researchers at the Jingzhou Base have made significant progress. Two experimental subjects brought back from the City of Death were dissected and thoroughly studied by the researchers. With information gathered from various sources, they finally understood the origin and development of the zombie virus.
XX Corporation began researching humans over a decade ago with the intention of prolonging human life and triggering superhuman abilities through drugs to create a new type of human.
However, this endeavour came with risks. The drugs initially developed by XX Corporation for injection into the subjects resulted in almost 100% fatality rates, later improving to a mere 0.01% survival rate. Even the surviving experimental subjects had various defects and were far from perfect.
Later, a doctor at XX Corporation discovered the secret of the world and developed a new type of drug. However, this drug underwent a mutation and transformed into a virus with adverse effects.
According to the normal procedure, this drug should have been immediately dealt with. However, a division formed within XX Corporation, with some believing that the virus could be sold as a bioweapon to cleanse humanity.
Terrifyingly, the uncontrollable happened, and the experimental subjects turned into zombies. The research facility quickly fell, and the virus spread throughout humanity, plunging the world into an apocalypse.
In this world of mutation and natural selection, every species evolved. Only the strong could survive.
After bringing back Bai Tiantian, Li Jin extracted her blood and analysed various data. He found it inexplicable but still followed her lead, only to discover a great secret.
Bai Tiantian’s mother used to be an employee at XX Corporation and was one of the leading researchers.
The original host had been raised in seclusion, with her busy father leaving her in the care of a housekeeper. It was only in her teens that she learned about her half-sister, born from the same father but a different mother.
The innocent and lovely younger sister, only slightly younger than her, was the result of her father’s affair during her mother’s pregnancy. This news hit her like a heavy slap to the face.
She had only seen Bai Tiantian’s mother once. The woman said with cold arrogance that she disdained marrying into the Bai family. Instead, it was her father who adored her mother’s attitude, constantly fawning and pleasing her.

On the walls, supernaturals and high-level zombies fought each other. Various supernatural abilities clashed, causing explosions, and gunshots rang out as bullets were fired in rapid succession. However, the zombies seemed endless, impossible to completely kill.
The number of zombies in this world was more than ten times that of humans. No matter how many guns and bullets humans had, they couldn’t kill them all.
Qingqing stood on the wall, releasing all the plants she controlled. As a Level 7 evolved being, she could control a large number of mutated plant and animal creatures, and even summon mutated sea creatures from a distance.

Zombies climbed up the walls one after another, and humanity had reached a dead end. Qingqing felt a sharp pain in her chest, her figure swayed, and she suddenly knelt on the ground, placing her hand over her mouth.
“Qingqing.” Xiao Yang hurriedly supported her and anxiously asked, “Are you injured?”
Qingqing shook her head, warm blood flowed from her mouth, staining her fingertips red. Suddenly, her heart felt uneasy. She pushed Xiao Yang away and stood up, saying, “I need to go to the research institute.”
“I’ll go with you.”
Xiao Yang used his abilities to carry her through the air, swiftly heading towards the research institute of the Jingzhou Base. Even before they arrived, they saw the surging clouds in the sky, rolling dark clouds filled with thunder.
