MDMSC Chapter 20

Bathing Her — 3-in-1

At first, the dream was full of bloody slaughter, a suffocating stench, and the rotting, twisted faces of neighbours she recognised. They opened their mouths at her, stretched out their hands, and tried to swallow her whole.

Then she struggled with everything she had to escape from the place where she worked. Along the way, she met kind people who took her back to the countryside, back to her home.

Fortunately, her mother and younger brother were still alive. They had only been crouched in the house for who knew how many days. The house was filled with the smell of urine and faeces, and her mother and brother were both mentally dazed.

Jun Yueyue carried the little food and water those kind people had given her, and with her thin trembling arms, hacked to death the two elderly neighbours, Third Uncle and Third Aunt, who had turned, rescuing her mother and brother.

When they saw Jun Yueyue, they were overjoyed. Their numb faces finally showed emotion. After eating and drinking the only bit of food and water Jun Yueyue had brought, the family hid in an empty shop by the roadside and waited for kind people to pass by.

At the very beginning of the apocalypse, humanity had not yet been completely extinguished. Their luck was still considered good. Very soon, they met a group of young people driving a large truck. Jun Yueyue knelt and begged them. In the end, they agreed to take the three of them along, on the condition that Jun Yueyue and her mother had to cook for the group, yet could only receive food for two people, because a child could not be counted as labour.

But that was fine. Jun Yueyue watched her idiot self from back then in the dream, still happily saying to her mother, “It’s fine. As long as our family is together, things will get better. I heard them say they’re going to join the army…”

At that time, her mother’s warmth and her younger brother’s dependence were still so warm and comforting.

But very quickly, the scene changed. The large truck had overturned by the roadside. Everyone in the truck was dead, not from zombies, but from gunshots. Because Jun Yueyue’s family had gone to wash clothes by the river, they had been lucky enough to escape. But they returned at the worst possible time. The group of evildoers had not left yet and were still looting the place.

Her mother and younger brother were discovered. A young man pointed a gun at them. From behind a large tree, Jun Yueyue saw that there was a black mole beside the cheekbone on the left side of that person’s face.

At that time, Jun Yueyue had a chance to run. These people killed without blinking. It was already the third month of the apocalypse. Morality had collapsed, humanity had twisted, and old, weak people without mutations like them could be crushed as easily as ants.

In the dream, Jun Yueyue screamed wildly at herself hiding behind the tree—

Run! You idiot!

But how could her dream self run? That version of her, who had relied on her mother and brother in the apocalypse, who had starved herself down to skin and bones just to get them food—how could she possibly run?

Jun Yueyue watched herself walk out from behind the large tree, kneel at the young man’s feet, and beg him with tears and snot streaming down her face. She kowtowed to him, using her own chest to block the gun pointed at her mother and brother.

There had been nothing wrong with that. She had not been wrong. As a daughter protecting her mother, as an older sister protecting her younger brother—was that not natural and right?

But Jun Yueyue smiled lightly at the version of herself in the dream and said, “Wrong.”

She was wrong because she had no ability yet still forced herself to stand out. Wrong because her face was still fairly pretty. Wrong because she was young enough, and even though she was frighteningly thin, there were still a few ounces of flesh on the chest blocking the gun. Wrong because she overestimated family affection, overestimated human nature, and overestimated her own worth in the face of life and death.

“If you don’t want to die, sure. Play with us brothers for a while. If we’re satisfied, I can consider…” That person smiled vilely. “Letting two out of you three live. How about that?”

Jun Yueyue watched the version of herself in the dream tremble like a sieve. Those eyes were full of pleading and fear, but without any hatred or resentment. She sighed. So it turned out she had once had eyes as clear as zombie crystal cores too.

She was still begging that person. The muzzle of his gun maliciously pushed against her chest, and the group behind him began laughing.

She kept begging. Her forehead began bleeding from kowtowing. Her voice shook beyond control as she said, “Let us go. We don’t have any ability to harm you. Or you can keep us. We can wash clothes and cook. We eat very little…”

But the group in front of her only laughed, laughing wildly and twistedly. The black muzzle moved from her chest to her lips, then shoved into her mouth. The laughter behind him grew even louder.

Then, just as Jun Yueyue was despairingly preparing to beg them to let her mother and brother go, she heard her mother speak.

Her mother said, “You can do whatever you want to her. Let me and the child go. Whatever you do to her is fine. She doesn’t matter… But the child is still young. You can’t kill such a young child. That would bring sin upon you…”

That group was still laughing. Their laughter grew louder and more distorted. Jun Yueyue watched the version of herself in the dream close her eyes, and in an instant, her senses were violently dragged back into that thin, fragile body she once had.

Everything around her fell silent. She could not hear anything. She stopped trembling. The cold gun in her mouth was no longer frightening. All she could hear was her mother’s words.

She said, “Whatever you do to her is fine. She doesn’t matter…”

Whatever you do to her is fine. She doesn’t matter, doesn’t matter, doesn’t matter, doesn’t matter…

Jun Yueyue screamed as if her heart and lungs were being torn apart. She remembered that at the time, she had not screamed. But in the dream, she screamed, as if shouting out all her unwillingness and confusion, all her heartbreak and hatred.

Then the scene changed. She had been locked inside a pitch-black warehouse. She realised once again that she was no longer inside that body’s perspective. Her consciousness floated above, watching the girl lying on the filthy ground below, eyes staring fixedly at the crack beneath the large iron door.

Through the eyes of her dream self, she saw her mother leading her younger brother, running quickly across a wasteland amid the mocking laughter of that group.

They really did let two people go…

But very quickly, someone fired a gun.

They did not shoot her mother or brother. They fired into the sky.

Just one shot, and the two people already terrified out of their minds fell to the ground.

They climbed back up and realised they were not hurt, ready to keep running, but it was already too late—

The gunshot had attracted zombies. Right before her eyes, through the narrow crack of the door, they were torn apart alive.

Jun Yueyue saw the version of herself lying on the ground start laughing. Her laughter was especially loud. Very loud. Very mad. Even crazier than the men outside.

She laughed until veins bulged at her temples, until every blood vessel stood out beneath her skin, until all her skin began turning red and splitting. In the depths of despair, she had actually mutated.

This mutation had come several months too late. Her body felt as if someone were cutting it apart inch by inch with a knife, then slowly gluing it back together by itself. Outside, voices were noisy. A group of people were drinking and eating, loudly discussing who would take her first that night.

But Jun Yueyue easily broke free of the ropes binding her and secretly ran out the back door.

Yes, she had mutated. But it was the lowest-level strength mutation.

She was not like the protagonists in novels, able to slaughter enemies in every direction and take revenge the moment she mutated. Her body was so heavy it did not feel like her own. Every part of her hurt so much that she could barely move. She could not beat people with guns. She could not even stand without feeling as if she were standing on the tips of knives. At that moment, even a child could have pushed her over.

She could only escape for now.

The sky that night was truly dark. She had lost everything: her mother, her brother, and… herself.

She kept running and running toward the pitch-black forest. There was no direction, no light, no sound. There was nothing. It was as if the whole world had abandoned her.

She ran while crying. The night wind could not dry her tears. That night, she cried out all the tears of her lifetime…

Jun Yueyue woke up crying. It was as if she had become the girl in the dream—or rather, the girl in her memories—again, exhausted and collapsed in the dark forest, with only fear and despair in her heart.

And that sentence she would never forget—

She doesn’t matter.

“She doesn’t matter…” Jun Yueyue suddenly sat up, like a fish stranded on the sand, using all her strength to kick and thrash its tail, yet unable to return to the water.

Something was pressing her down. She—

Jun Yueyue drew in a sudden sharp breath. The air that rushed wildly into her chest made her cough, and she opened her eyes.

Fang Anyu’s enlarged face was in front of her. Because he was too close, his curls brushed against her face. Sunlight shone in through the window, outlining his entire body with a warm golden edge.

Jun Yueyue stopped struggling. She narrowed her eyes and stared blankly at Fang Anyu. Her breathing gradually steadied, and finally, she woke from that deep, dark, cold nightmare.

She freed her hand from Fang Anyu’s grip and looped her arms around his neck. Tears slipped from the corners of her eyes into her hair, but she smiled tiredly.

The two of them were really too close. In order to restrain Jun Yueyue, Fang Anyu was still straddling the quilt over her and pressing her down. Their noses touched. At this moment, Jun Yueyue was as fragile as a flower that would crumble to dust the moment one loosened their grip, urgently needing to hide in the palm of the person in front of her.

Because to Jun Yueyue, Fang Anyu was the symbol of another world. She knew he was a character from the novel, so when she woke up and saw that it was him, she calmed down. He was the rope that had pulled her out of the man-eating world.

At this moment, Jun Yueyue only wanted to cling tightly to this rope.

But before she could pull Fang Anyu’s neck down, a sudden “cough” sounded in the room.

The sound was too deliberate, and it was not quiet either. Jun Yueyue instantly woke from that fragile state, loosened her arms from around Fang Anyu’s neck, and looked toward the source of the sound.

How lively. A whole room full of people.

Jun Yu, Fang Anyan, even Old Master Jun, and two bodyguards standing beside him.

Jun Yueyue looked around and realised this was a hospital.

Only after she lowered the arms holding Fang Anyu did she notice that she was on an IV drip. Because it was an indwelling needle, it had not fallen out despite all her struggling and moving around.

Fang Anyu got off the bed and helped Jun Yueyue sit up. Jun Yueyue pressed a hand to her forehead and grimaced as the movement tugged at the wound in her palm.

Oh. The gauze on her previously injured hand had become even thicker, and there was still a needle in her other hand. How tragic, Jun Yueyue thought inwardly.

The person who had coughed just now was Fang Anyan. After Jun Yueyue sat up and looked at the room full of people, her expression did not change at all. Right now, her heart felt very strange. She was not thinking of anything, yet it was a complete mess. She needed a little time to sort it out. But the people in the room clearly did not plan to give her that time.

She leaned against the side of the bed and did not speak. She had no mood at all to deal with this room full of people. But Jun Yueyue had not expected the first person to speak to be Old Master Jun, who was sitting opposite her.

“Why did you drive into the Jiang family boy?” Old Master Jun’s brows were furrowed into the shape of the character 川. “Do you have an old grudge?” Otherwise, how could his investigation show that she had intended to run him over?

Jun Yu tugged on Old Master Jun’s arm. “Grandpa, Sister only just woke up. Why don’t we wait…”

Old Master Jun turned his head and looked at her, actually with a rather stern expression. Jun Yu froze for a moment and silently withdrew her hand.

Jun Yueyue looked at Old Master Jun and frowned, not speaking for a moment. Old Master Jun glared at Jun Yueyue, and the cane in his hand struck the floor hard twice.

“Speak! The two Jiang family parents are waiting outside. Our family must give them an explanation!”

This old man was so annoying. Jun Yueyue’s head hurt. Right now, she simply could not sort out what exactly was going on. That person, that face… the familiar place and the big tree—was it coincidence, or…

Jun Yueyue did not dare think recklessly. Looking at the aggressive Old Master Jun, she knew this matter did indeed need a reason, so she said, “He cursed at me.”

“He cursed at you, so you tried to run him over! Do you know the ones you gave concussions to are all children from respectable families? You…”

Old Master Jun’s cane struck the floor with loud *bangs*. Jun Yueyue was so irritated she could not bear it and said, “He called me a cheap slut, something worse than a dog, a whore who should be fucked.”

As soon as Jun Yueyue finished speaking, Old Master Jun’s whole face instantly flushed red. It was so red it nearly turned purple. It seemed as though he had never heard such ugly words in his entire life. He suddenly stood up from the chair, jabbed his cane at the person beside him, and said, “Go. Break that Jiang boy’s set leg again. Break both of them!”

Because he was overly agitated, Old Master Jun began coughing. His lips pressed into a straight line. As he walked out, he said to the other person beside him, “Go make appointments with the parents of those concussed little bastards. I’ll teach them how to discipline their children!”

As he spoke, he struck his cane loudly and left in a menacing rage. Only then did Jun Yueyue let out a breath and lean back against the pillow.

Jun Yu stared blankly in the direction Grandpa had left. She had never seen Grandpa this angry before…

This time, Fang Anyan was thoroughly afraid of Jun Yueyue. He had specifically asked the doctor about those few strikes of hers with the wrench. If they had been any lighter, the people might not have lost consciousness. But if they had been any heavier, they could have suffered brain bleeding or even severe brain damage. The three people were all injured in the same spot with the same amount of force. Even the doctor suspected that the person who attacked had deliberately controlled the strength.

But this kind of precise control, if it had really been measured, could not be trained without smashing at least hundreds or thousands of heads.

Fang Anyan now felt that after Jun Yueyue’s sudden change in personality, she was becoming more and more incomprehensible. By now, she had practically become a mystery… But describing her as having become a different person was not quite accurate either, because she was still bad. It was just that the way she was bad was different from before.

Before, she always used dirty, vicious methods. Now she was bad openly and aboveboard. Someone cursed her a few times, and she wanted to run him over. The strangest thing was Old Master Jun’s attitude. He had not scolded her for being too violent. Instead, he actually wanted to break both legs of the person whose leg had already been hit by the car…

The look Fang Anyan gave Jun Yueyue was indescribably complicated. His mind was also a mess, and he did not want to say a single word.

Jun Yu originally wanted to ask Jun Yueyue how she felt, but as soon as Old Master Jun left, her sister closed her eyes, looking as if she refused to communicate. Jun Yu opened her mouth, but in the end, she did not dare speak. She was also afraid of Jun Yueyue.

Fang Anyan pushed Jun Yu out as well. Only Fang Anyu remained in the room, silently busying himself in the bathroom.

What was he doing?

This wealthy young master, who had never touched household chores, had given the clothes and trousers Jun Yueyue had changed out of to the caregiver while everyone outside was asking Jun Yueyue questions. But… he had kept her bra and underwear.

Fang Anyu personally got a small basin. With a solemn face, he stood in front of the sink, poured almost half a bucket of laundry detergent, and washed Jun Yueyue’s underwear.

The battle was extremely fierce. Foam flowed all the way from the sink to the doorway. Half of Fang Anyu’s clothes were wet. He finally managed to rinse the foam clean. He frowned and looked at his own dripping wet clothes, then took Jun Yueyue’s underwear, came out of the bathroom, and carried them over to the railing by the window in front of the hospital bed to hang them up.

Jun Yueyue had her eyes closed. As for sleeping, she could not sleep. She was trying to sort through the chaotic thoughts in her mind, but she failed. When she opened her eyes, she saw Fang Anyu holding her extremely familiar bra and underwear and about to hang them on the windowsill railing. Was this damn well supposed to become an underwear exhibition?

And her underwear?

With a strange feeling, Jun Yueyue lifted the quilt and glanced down. She was wearing a hospital gown. Clearly, she had not changed herself.

She tugged open the waistband of the hospital trousers a little and saw the edge of unfamiliar cotton underwear with strawberry prints. In her heart, she cursed, *Fuck.*

Then she simply slid down along the head of the bed and lay there, her eyes following Fang Anyu as he quietly moved around the room.

Yes, quietly. This person could not speak. Unlike Fang Anyan, who cawed like a crow.

Everything about Fang Anyu gave people a feeling of quietness. Whether he was walking, sleeping, or doing anything else, he never made much noise.

Actually, this was not right. For a normal person, they would not deliberately care about how much sound they made. Besides, from infancy, people knew how to cry loudly to attract others.

Only people who were afraid of attracting attention would deliberately make themselves quiet. Jun Yueyue could even guess that Fang Anyu had become like this because he wanted to make himself less troublesome.

After all, he was not stupid. Born into a family like that, yet unable to help with anything. So after marrying the original Jun Yue, even though he had been treated like that, he had never once told his family…

What use would it have been? Jun Yueyue thought coldly. Even knowing he might be wronged like this, had his family not still used him in exchange for resources?

Just like how she had once done everything she could for her family, only to be the one abandoned in the end. Jun Yueyue could not really say whether she hated her mother more, or hated the person who had pointed a gun at them and forced them to choose more, or whether what she hated most was that man-eating world.

She lay on the bed, her entire body exhausted and limp. The drip in the bottle was silent. After Fang Anyu finished “displaying” Jun Yueyue’s underwear, he turned and prepared to go back to the bathroom to deal with the room full of foam. But when he reached the doorway, he turned back and glanced at Jun Yueyue, meeting her gaze directly.

Fang Anyu paused, then walked toward the bedside. Jun Yueyue just watched him, looking at his wet hands and his clothes, which were so damp they were already sticking to his body.

Was this from washing her clothes?

Jun Yueyue raised her brows. But on second thought, that made sense. Fang Anyu was a proper young master from a wealthy family. What would he know how to do?

Her gaze involuntarily returned to her own underwear fluttering in the wind by the window. Ever since seeing that person’s face, her fearful and low mood had actually begun showing signs of slowly lifting.

She could not find her own phone by the bed. After Fang Anyu sat down beside her bed, he found one in the drawer beside him. But the one he took out was his own. He quickly typed a line and showed it to Jun Yueyue—

How do you feel? You fainted. The doctor said it was because you were too emotional. What exactly happened to you?

After Jun Yueyue read it, she wanted to reply to Fang Anyu, but one of her hands was injured and wrapped in thick gauze, while the other was attached to the drip. She had no way to type.

So Fang Anyu asked again—

They said you wanted to run that person over. Do you know him?

Jun Yueyue looked at Fang Anyu’s face full of confusion and concern. She poked at his phone a few times, but typing was truly too difficult. Every movement of her hand hurt.

Jun Yueyue did not know how she ended up sliding to the voice input function. Suddenly, inspiration struck. She switched the page to voice input and said, “I’m fine. I don’t know that person. I didn’t want to hit him. I just mistook the accelerator for the brake.”

The voice input was not very accurate, and the punctuation marks were a mess. Jun Yueyue tried twice, slowing down and enunciating word by word, before finally entering the full paragraph properly.

After Fang Anyu read it, he believed her immediately. He let out a breath of relief, nodded, and typed again—

Anyan said you’re fine. Once this bottle of drip is finished, we can go back.

Jun Yueyue nodded, licked her lips, pressed the voice input with her finger, and said, “I’m thirsty.”

Fang Anyu quickly put down the phone and poured water for Jun Yueyue. He did not really know how to take care of people. After finding a paper cup, he fumbled around for a long time before finally bringing over a cup of warm water. He helped Jun Yueyue sit up, but when he fed her the water, he accidentally poured it down her neck and into her collar.

Fang Anyu quickly put down the cup, grabbed some tissues from the bedside, pulled out two, and directly slid his hand down from Jun Yueyue’s water-wet chin to wipe her.

He wiped very carefully. The corner of Jun Yueyue’s mouth twitched as she watched Fang Anyu’s hand, holding the tissue, moving in and out of the top of her hospital gown. She felt that taking advantage of her was really far too convenient.

If it had been anyone else in front of her right now, doing this to her, then it would have been one hundred percent intentional.

But Jun Yueyue raised her head and looked at Fang Anyu, and she could not see even the slightest trace of obscenity in his expression or eyes.

So Jun Yueyue could only open her mouth, then close it again, letting Fang Anyu continue.

After feeding Jun Yueyue water, Fang Anyu picked up the phone again and typed—

The injury on your hand got worse again. You kept moving around in your sleep, so they used an indwelling needle. Did you have a nightmare? You kept crying.

Fang Anyu’s finger hovered over the voice input button, his eyes fixed on Jun Yueyue, waiting for her to speak.

Jun Yueyue did not answer immediately. After a long while, she finally opened her mouth. As soon as she began to speak, Fang Anyu pressed the voice input button without needing Jun Yueyue to do it herself.

Jun Yueyue said, “Who changed my clothes? Who bought me the little strawberry set?”

Jun Yueyue directly skipped Fang Anyu’s question. She did not want to mention that dream again, nor did she want to recall that face, so familiar it made her go mad, or that mountain.

Fang Anyu was truly especially easy to fool. Whatever Jun Yueyue said, he believed. As soon as Jun Yueyue changed the topic, he immediately followed her train of thought.

Only with certain special matters would he insist on digging to the root. Being with him truly made Jun Yueyue feel the most relaxed.

As expected, Fang Anyu’s attention was diverted. But he did not type immediately either. His fingers scratched at the phone a few times, and the roots of his ears faintly reddened.

After having such a nightmare, after experiencing such a scene where a nightmare became reality, Jun Yueyue should not have been able to smile. But seeing Fang Anyu sitting there restlessly, for some reason, she could not stop the corners of her lips from curving.

After a while, Fang Anyu still typed a line—

It was me. The caregiver we hired was male. You had fainted at the time. Mm, that underwear was bought by me… The shop downstairs didn’t have any other patterns.

His whole face was already red. But it was not a very intense red. It was more like pink showing beneath his fair skin, like a ripe honey peach. It looked as if, if you pinched him, the skin would break and juice would flow out.

The smile at the corner of Jun Yueyue’s mouth widened a little. If this had been an ordinary time, she would have continued asking along this line, asking until Fang Anyu felt so embarrassed he had nowhere to hide.

But now, her mood truly was not very good. The fact that she could smile at all was entirely because she was facing Fang Anyu. It was all because he was far too foolish, and foolishly bold too. Jun Yueyue had not forgotten that when she had lost control, no one had dared approach her. Only Fang Anyu had dared take the wrench from her hand.

There were still two bottles of drip left. The two of them did not continue communicating. Fang Anyu went to the bathroom to deal with the foam all over the floor, while Jun Yueyue lay on the bed, closing her eyes again as she thought about what had happened earlier.

The caregiver brought back the washed and dried clothes. Seeing Fang Anyu in the bathroom wiping the foam, only for there to be more and more of it, then looking at the half-empty bottle of laundry detergent, he helped clean up while taking advantage of Fang Anyu’s inability to hear and muttering complaints about how clumsy he was.

But when the two of them came out of the bathroom, the moment the caregiver met Jun Yueyue’s cold gaze, he immediately felt guilty and nearly bit his own tongue.

After silently tidying up everything in the room, the caregiver hurried out. Fang Anyu could not hear what the caregiver had said just now, so his expression showed nothing unusual. After changing into dry clothes, he sat by the bed and continued talking with Jun Yueyue—

This is my first time coming to a hospital. When I got sick before, doctors came to the house. I’ve seen hospitals on TV, but they’re not quite the same as the real thing.

Jun Yueyue had no interest in chatting and did not reply. But that did not stop Fang Anyu from continuing to talk to her—

I saw the people you hit. They’re all in the hospital. Two of them are right next door. When their families came, they shouted that they wanted to come in, but Grandpa Jun stopped them.

When can we go home? I don’t know whether the servants have watered my flowers properly.

You said you would give me a fish tank and little goldfish. Where do you think I should put them?

Your hand is injured. The doctor said the wound can’t split open again and can’t touch water. When we go back, I can help you bathe.

Oh, right. I haven’t eaten tonight. You haven’t eaten either, right? Are you hungry? The caregiver bought porridge just now, but I don’t want to eat it. It’s watery like plain water.

I saw food being sold downstairs, those little carts. I’ve seen them on TV before. Can I buy that to eat?

Ah, Anyan should be outside. He won’t let me eat that. But just now, when I pretended to take a walk and passed by, it really smelled so good.

Ah, your bottle needs changing. I’ll go call the nurse!

After Fang Anyu got up and went out, Jun Yueyue sighed helplessly. Fortunately, he was mute. If he could speak, he would probably be a chatterbox…

The nurse quickly came to change the bottle. Actually, this kind of thing only needed a family member to do it, since it was just pulling the needle tube out and inserting it into another bottle.

After the nurse left, Fang Anyu sat back down by the bed. He had just picked up the phone and was about to continue talking to Jun Yueyue when the door opened. Old Master Jun, Jun Yu, and Fang Anyan all came in.

When only the two of them had been in the room, Jun Yueyue had been very relaxed. But the moment everyone entered, the atmosphere became tense.

Fang Anyu stood up and remained by the bed. Jun Yueyue met Old Master Jun’s gaze and truly did not want to talk to this troublesome old man.

Old Master Jun’s lips were pressed into a straight line, his back ramrod-straight, one hand gripping his cane. With the two bodyguards standing behind him, he looked like a mafia boss bringing his subordinates to negotiate.

If one ignored the age spots on his face, he really did have quite the presence.

Jun Yueyue was too lazy to speak. After standing there for a moment, Old Master Jun sat down and said, “Those little bastards have already been dealt with. Once you’re done here, we’ll go home.”

Jun Yueyue was actually a little surprised. Earlier, when Old Master Jun had stormed off saying he would break that Jiang boy’s leg, she had not believed him. But now it seemed that, even if he had not broken it, the matter had been settled.

As expected, she was still the eldest young lady of the Jun family. Even if Old Master Jun did not think much of her, he still would not allow outsiders to bully his family’s child.

This made Jun Yueyue’s impression of him improve by the tiniest bit.

However, Jun Yueyue did not show anything. Even if Old Master Jun had not handled it for her, she had not caused any irreversible consequences.

Thankfully, she did not have the mutated body from the apocalypse. She had not evolved her ability using zombie crystal cores, so she did not have quite so many violent emotions. Even when seeing that face had driven her mad, she had still retained a trace of reason and left room when she struck.

Old Master Jun probably had not expected Jun Yueyue to be tearfully grateful to him either. The whole room quieted down, everyone staring at the drip and waiting for it to finish.

When it was finally done, everyone let out a deep breath of relief. It was truly too awkward for this group of people to stay in one room together.

On the way home, Old Master Jun sat alone in another car. The four of them were still in the car driven by Fang Anyan, with Jun Yueyue and Fang Anyu sitting in the back.

One of Jun Yueyue’s hands was injured, and the other still had the cotton from the drip stuck to it. When she got into the car, Fang Anyu cupped her hand as if he were holding the hand of a patient with broken bones. Jun Yueyue could not help lowering her head and knocking her forehead against his.

Fang Anyu only froze for a moment at the time. But after he got into the car and the car started moving, he slowly moved closer to Jun Yueyue and bumped her leg with his knee.

Jun Yueyue turned her head to look at him, but Fang Anyu sat straight, looking ahead.

No one knew how the two of them suddenly started. Anyway, you kicked me once, I bumped you once, you poked me once, I pinched you once, and the two of them busied themselves very enthusiastically in the back seat.

Fang Anyan drove and occasionally glanced in the rear-view mirror. At first, he thought these two could be sent to the Third Hospital together, but as he watched, for some reason, he felt a little choked.

After choking back and forth, he felt full. He also turned to look at Jun Yu several times, feeling extremely strange inside.

He felt that the two people in the back seat should not be like that. But when he saw the two of them with their heads close together, poking back and forth at one phone, then turned to look at Jun Yu, who was always quiet and very well-behaved beside him, he felt as if he and Jun Yu were the ones who were not right.

Fang Anyan thought about this the whole way. He had never thought about this kind of issue before. When he had still been in school, he had dated before and had types he liked. But his likes, in front of the Fang company and in front of his father’s lifelong effort, were simply not within the scope of consideration.

He had to find a way to stop the Fang family from collapsing. Only then could he protect his father’s lifelong efforts, maintain his mother’s status in the rich wives’ circle, and allow his brother to live a peaceful and carefree life inside the castle that was the Fang family.

But now, he was thinking: was everything he was doing truly right?

He could marry someone for profit and treat that person well, but could he keep it up for a lifetime?

What about his own thoughts? He only knew that he did not even have the desire to speak to the person beside him…

By the time they returned to the Jun residence, it was already midnight. Everyone was very tired. The servants had probably received a call in advance and had prepared a plentiful dinner. For the first time, the group ate a meal in silence and harmony.

After dinner, before anyone else stood up, Old Master Jun rose first and said, “Rest well tonight. Tomorrow, I have something to announce.”

Jun Yueyue and Fang Anyu were eating with their heads down and did not even raise them. Fang Anyan and Jun Yu both looked nervously at Old Master Jun at the same time.

Old Master Jun seemed to want to reach out and pat Jun Yu’s head to comfort her, but in the end, he raised his hand slightly and put it back down. He was helped upstairs by the old servant lady.

Fang Anyan and Jun Yu had not eaten much. They returned to their respective rooms. That night, they were destined to sleep poorly.

In fact, they both understood very clearly that this visit to Old Master Jun was for the future cooperation between the Jun and Fang families, even a marriage alliance, and also for the piece of land in Old Master Jun’s hands that was said to be worth several hundred million.

Before leaving the table, Old Master Jun had said such a sentence. Jun Yu and Fang Anyan were destined to toss and turn.

But unlike those two, Jun Yueyue and Fang Anyu not only ate until they were full, but after returning to the room, neither of them felt anxious. Fang Anyu went to shower first. After washing, he came out wearing a bathrobe, his hair still wet and dripping.

Jun Yueyue was lying on the bed. Fang Anyu helped her sit up, then, with a blank face, she was pulled by him into the bathroom.

When Fang Anyu carefully held her hand, wrapped it layer after layer in plastic wrap, and began undoing the buttons of her jacket one by one, Jun Yueyue lowered her head and looked at her strawberry underwear. Only then did she understand what Fang Anyu was about to do.
