MDMSC Chapter 8

His Brother Is Missing!

Jun Yueyue had always been someone who acted first and thought later. But just as their lips were about to touch, and Fang Anyu had already tightly shut his eyes, she hesitated.

Playing around was one thing, but Fang Anyu was still the male lead’s older brother. She had already decided to break away from the main plotline, so she could not keep getting entangled with him. Once they returned from Old Master Jun’s place, Jun Yueyue planned to get divorced. At a time like this, bullying this obviously somewhat slow little fool again was clearly inappropriate.

Jun Yueyue stopped, blew lightly at Fang Anyu, then released him, got up, and rolled to the other side of the bed.

Fang Anyu’s eyelashes trembled rapidly. He did not know how to describe what he was feeling right now. Fear—but it did not seem quite like fear. Through watching television and reading books, he had learned many kinds of emotions, but all those emotions seemed to be separated from him by a layer of something. They did not feel real, because he had never experienced them himself.

He did not know that what he was feeling now was called anticipation. He instinctively suppressed it, his hands tightly gripping the quilt beside him.

Jun Yueyue blew on him, got up, and rolled onto the bed. Fang Anyu opened his eyes in confusion, froze for a moment, then turned and looked at Jun Yueyue doubtfully.

The emotion in his eyes was very easy to understand—

Why aren’t we continuing?

Jun Yueyue smiled and patted the quilt, beckoning Fang Anyu over to lie down. This kind of extremely simple meaning did not need to be written down for Fang Anyu to understand. He thought Jun Yueyue wanted to do that while lying down, so even though he was very troubled, he still stood up from the edge of the bed and very consciously took off his pyjamas.

Jun Yueyue knew at a glance that he had misunderstood. She lay against the side of the bed, admiring Fang Anyu’s figure. For a man, being overly pale did not look especially attractive. Perhaps because he did not exercise, he really did not look as good as Fang Anyan with his body of taut muscles.

Although there was no extra fat, he looked soft everywhere. Oh, there was one exception.

Jun Yueyue smiled and savoured the feeling for a moment. It felt a little like a person she had spent a fortune on was taking part in some shameful transaction.

When Fang Anyu climbed onto the bed, Jun Yueyue cut off that train of thought. She picked up the remote from the bedside table, turned off the lights in the room, then pressed Fang Anyu down as he moved toward her. She wrapped him up in the quilt, patted him to indicate that he should not move, then lay back on her own side and closed her eyes to sleep.

Fang Anyu did not understand what Jun Yueyue was doing. He stayed tense and completely still. Even when he began sweating inside the quilt, he still did not move. It was only after Jun Yueyue fell asleep, and after he became so sleepy he could no longer endure it and also fell asleep, that the room was finally left with only the long, steady sounds of their breathing rising and falling.

Early the next morning, Jun Yueyue woke up first and went to exercise in that flower room. When she returned drenched in sweat, she happened to run into Fang Anyan, who was dressed in a suit and leather shoes, walking downstairs.

He had to go to the company this morning to arrange matters for the next few days.

Fang Anyan really did look good in a suit. After all, he was the male lead. When he saw Jun Yueyue, his expression immediately turned ugly. Jun Yueyue, looking at him dressed like that, gave him a loud whistle.

Then Fang Anyan’s foot slipped. He barely managed to steady himself in a full split, but unfortunately, with a loud *riiip*, the fragile fabric around an unspeakable area tore open. Once again, Jun Yueyue’s unrestrained and utterly immoral shrieking laughter rang through the house.

Even Jun Yu, who had been pushed out of her room by a servant, could not help secretly lowering her head and laughing.

Jun Yueyue returned to the bedroom, preparing to take a shower. But as she passed by the bed, she discovered that Fang Anyu was still curled up alone inside the quilt. She could not help stopping and digging his head out of the covers.

Fang Anyu had spent the whole night buried under the quilt. His hair was now even wetter than Jun Yueyue’s, completely soaked with sweat. After Jun Yueyue dug him out, he opened his eyes in a daze, staring at her with a head of damp curls. Then he hugged her.

Jun Yueyue: “……?”

After Fang Anyu hugged Jun Yueyue, he very proactively leaned close to her neck and rubbed against it carefully. The blackout curtains were drawn in the room, making it pitch dark. He was still half-asleep and did not know whether it was day or night. He had been waiting for Jun Yueyue all this time, waiting even until he had fallen asleep. Thinking that she had finally come to him, he held the sweaty Jun Yueyue and took the initiative to show affection.

He was like a small animal that had waited for its owner all night, feeling wronged and rubbing against them for comfort.

When his lips brushed against her, Jun Yueyue’s breathing paused slightly. She reached out and grabbed his damp curls, forcing him to lift his face, then blew on him.

“Wake up. What are you doing? You haven’t even opened your eyes and you’re already acting like a hooligan…”

After saying this, Jun Yueyue helplessly curled her lips, deeply feeling that if she stayed around Fang Anyu for too long, sooner or later she would turn into a lunatic who talked to herself.

Fang Anyu did become a little more awake after she blew on him. Jun Yueyue freed herself from the arm hooked around her neck, walked to the window, and pulled the curtains open. Dazzling sunlight poured into the room without restraint. Fang Anyu raised a hand to block his eyes and froze for a while before finally realising that it was daytime.

Last night… He looked at Jun Yueyue.

Jun Yueyue was amused by his look. As she passed by him, she flicked his forehead and walked toward the bathroom, muttering to herself again, “What’s with that expression? You look pretty regretful that we didn’t do anything last night…”

Fang Anyu sat on the bed and stared at the bathroom door. Only after being stunned for a long while did he belatedly realise that when Jun Yueyue had called him into the room last night to sleep, she had really only meant sleep. She had not meant to do anything with him.

After realising this, he froze for another long while, unable to understand why she had done that. She had clearly hated him so much before.

She had not even allowed the flowers he raised to be placed on the balcony.

When Jun Yueyue came out after taking a shower, Fang Anyu was still sitting there with his body on display. She could not help laughing, but after laughing, she did not know why she had laughed.

“I’ve probably been infected by the fool,” Jun Yueyue muttered quietly. Then she changed her clothes and ran to the balcony beside the living room to stretch.

While stretching, she saw that the door to the storage room beside the balcony was open. She could vaguely see the lush green plants inside.

Jun Yueyue paused. She remembered that in the plot, Fang Anyu liked raising flowers. He had raised many, many flowers. But after their marriage, the original owner had not allowed him to place those flowers on the balcony or in the living room, because she claimed she was allergic to pollen.

In reality, she simply found everything about Fang Anyu unpleasant. She did not dare openly throw his things away, so she forced Fang Anyu to stuff all his flowers and plants, along with himself, into that tiny balcony storage room.

Jun Yueyue was not some kind of demon either. After thinking about it, she went into the little storage room.

By the time Fang Anyu had finished being dazed, washed up, and come out of the bedroom, he saw Jun Yueyue holding his watering can and watering flowers on the balcony.

The flowers that had been moved into the storage room for more than a month had all been brought out and placed beneath the sunlight. Their leaves were covered in misty droplets, and they trembled slightly as they stretched their branches and leaves toward the sun, looking as if they had been thoroughly nourished.

The balcony window was opened slightly. A gentle breeze blew in through the gap, stirring Jun Yueyue’s half-dry long hair. Fang Anyu stood frozen in the middle of the living room, watching Jun Yueyue for a very, very long time without shifting his gaze. In his heart, a very strange feeling that he did not know how to describe grew silently together with the stretching branches and leaves, together with the clear water spraying from the watering can.

Fang Anyu liked flowers and plants because he felt they were like him. They were ignorant and unaware, unable to hear or speak, yet they could see. They would turn toward the direction of the sunlight. If shut inside a dark little room, they would wither and turn yellow.

Fang Anyu knew that was them feeling sad, but he was powerless to do anything. Yet this morning, they had all been placed back beneath the sunlight, had drunk their fill of water, and looked very happy.

Fang Anyu still remembered the pot she had once kicked over with a face full of disgust. He had never known what to do with the cracked flowerpot. These things had all been bought by Anyan, and he did not know how to ask him to buy another. His younger brother was always very busy, busy with the family business that Fang Anyu could not help with at all.

So Fang Anyu never took the initiative to speak. He could only squeeze the cracked pot between other flowerpots, not daring to move it. But now, that flowerpot that had left him helpless had been tied from the outside with a rope. It looked very beautiful, like an unopened gift. The flowerpot would no longer fall apart…

Fang Anyu was dazed for too long. Out of the corner of her eye, Jun Yueyue saw that he was practically frozen in place like a puppet. After watering all the flowers, she put down the watering can, walked to Fang Anyu’s side, and stared at him for a moment.

Fang Anyu was still looking at the flowers on the balcony. Jun Yueyue poked him and reached out her hand.

Fang Anyu finally came back to himself and took the little notebook out of his trouser pocket, handing it to Jun Yueyue.

Jun Yueyue took it and wrote—

From now on, sleep in the bedroom every night. The flowers can stay on the balcony too.

Fang Anyu took it, lowered his head, and read. Jun Yueyue went to change clothes, preparing to go out and buy things. Just as she was about to leave, Fang Anyu handed her the little notebook with “thank you” written on it.

Jun Yueyue looked at it, smiled at him, and walked out the door.

However, less than two seconds later, the door opened again. Jun Yueyue snatched the notebook from Fang Anyu, who was still standing dazedly by the door, and quickly wrote—

You’re not doing anything anyway. Why don’t you come shopping with me?

She just happened to need an obedient human-shaped bag-carrying machine. Jun Yueyue did want to ask Jun Yu to go with her, but Jun Yu’s legs were inconvenient, and Jun Yueyue would have to take care of her and push her around. Too troublesome.

By comparison, Fang Anyu, this obedient little darling who would go wherever she pointed, was far more suitable to take shopping.

Fang Anyu took the notebook. After reading it, he could not react for a while. Jun Yueyue could not be bothered to wait for him to process it. She pushed him back into the room, personally changed his clothes for him, dragged him all the way downstairs, had the servants arrange a driver, and abducted him away.

But she did not know that after Fang Anyu had gone missing outside for two days when he was a few years old and had finally been found, he had never gone out again.

The only few times he absolutely had to leave, Fang Anyan had accompanied him the entire way. Even then, it was only a straight-line distance between the car and the destination. That counted as “going out.”

Jun Yueyue, however, directly took him to the bustling pedestrian street in the city centre. Today was Sunday too, and people were packed shoulder to shoulder. Fang Anyu was dazzled, his fists clenched tightly. For a while, he had no idea where to look. He had only ever seen this kind of scene on television, but watching through a screen and being there in person were truly completely different things…

Fang Anyu’s brain was like a wheel that could not turn properly. He looked all around, unable to pull his gaze back. Every two steps, he would freeze. Jun Yueyue pulled him along as if she were dragging an old ox that refused to work or move. Before long, she regretted it.

“Walk… walk, big brother!” Jun Yueyue stood behind Fang Anyu, pushing at his lower back until she was covered in sweat. She was so angry she nearly wanted to send him back.

She dug the little notebook out of his pocket and wrote furiously—

If you don’t walk, I’ll have the driver send you back!

Fang Anyu lowered his head and read it. After reacting for a while, he looked at Jun Yueyue’s round, glaring eyes and the sweat trickling down from the corner of her forehead. Then he reached out and wiped it for her.

The two young girls passing by them immediately covered their mouths and shrieked.

“Wow! He’s a real person! I thought he was a life-sized doll, ahhh—”

“Oh my god, he wiped his girlfriend’s sweat for her. So doting! I’m dead…”

Their voices were barely suppressed at all. Even the sounds of their exclamations entered Jun Yueyue’s ears with perfect clarity.

Jun Yueyue: “……”

She carefully looked at Fang Anyu. Fang Anyu was nodding at her. Under the sunlight, his curls fell over his forehead, naturally carrying a faint golden hue. His face already had almost no flaws, with large eyes and distinct lashes. Under the bright sun, he looked even more as if his skin had been smoothed by a filter. And because he was somewhat slow, both his gaze and movements appeared wooden. He really did… look like a finely crafted giant male doll.

Jun Yueyue reached out and pinched his face, then pushed him.

“Let’s go!”

This time, with the threat of being sent home, Fang Anyu began following Jun Yueyue especially obediently, dutifully acting as a clothes rack and bag-carrying machine, making Jun Yueyue very satisfied.

The two of them wandered outside for most of the day. In the afternoon, after Fang Anyan finished arranging company matters and returned home to prepare to drive to Xiude Town to see Old Master Jun, he was horrified to discover—

His brother was missing!

Fang Anyan was so frightened that the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. He did not even know how he ran downstairs. He found a servant in the kitchen, only then learning that his brother had actually been taken out by that damn woman!

“Jun Yue! You’re dead!” Fang Anyan panted in the living room like a mad dog and quickly dialled Jun Yueyue’s number.

The call was answered as soon as it went through. Fang Anyan was just about to explode when he heard from the receiver—

“Hello, the number you have dialled is currently on another call…”

He called again. Still on another call.

Fang Anyan was about to go insane.

Damn it. She had blocked him.
