MDMSC Chapter 9

Is He Your Boyfriend?

Jun Yueyue took Fang Anyu shopping non-stop. At first, she had worried about the bank cards, but later discovered that the original owner’s phone supported face-recognition payment. After that, she completely let herself go.

Before the apocalypse, Jun Yueyue had been a university student from an ordinary family. Every month, she had to scrimp and save. There was no way she could spend money recklessly. After the apocalypse, all the malls became places where the capable could take whatever they wanted. With one punch, she could smash a display window and take anything she liked. At first, it had felt amazing. But as time passed, facing those desolate, ruined cities filled with rot and walking corpses, that thrill had completely disappeared.

But right now, Jun Yueyue felt especially good!

This was not the apocalypse. She did not have to be stingy and feel heartbroken over buying a cup of milk tea. She could swipe, swipe, swipe without asking the price or considering the consequences. And she had the feeling that she was spending someone else’s money. It was seriously too exciting!

She bought a lot of things for herself. When they passed a menswear shop, she touched her faintly existing conscience and let Fang Anyu try on a set as well. This morning, when Fang Anyan had worn a suit, Jun Yueyue had found it stunning. Sure enough, when Fang Anyu came out after changing, he looked just as good as she had imagined. But it was different from Fang Anyan’s shrewdness and sharpness. Fang Anyu stood there in a suit like a mannequin in a shop window that had come to life.

The young salesgirl helping pack everything up was blushing the whole time. When she looked at Fang Anyu, her eyes almost had hearts in them.

Jun Yueyue was fine, though. If she had not experienced the apocalypse, she would probably also drool over someone like Fang Anyu. But after going through the apocalypse, her requirements for a man’s appearance had become relatively low. What mattered most was practicality: he had to be able to handle things, not die easily, be good in bed, and be able to look after each other with her. Appearance came last.

The only thing Fang Anyu qualified for was that he was decent in bed. But speaking from experience, Jun Yueyue had seen far too many pretty-boy types. Generally speaking, they were not durable. Especially someone like Fang Anyu, who was deaf, mute, and slow to react. Someone like him would be troublesome even to live with in reality. If he were thrown into the apocalypse alone, surviving until nightfall would already depend on luck. Whoever brought him along would be unlucky. He would become a burden and get people killed in minutes.

So, from every angle, even though Jun Yueyue had never had a man before and had already had that kind of relationship with Fang Anyu, she was only teasing him. She thought he was fun and pitied him, but she absolutely did not include him in the category of “man” when considering finding herself one.

Especially since Fang Anyu was the male lead Fang Anyan’s older brother. Just to avoid the plot, Jun Yueyue absolutely would not get too involved with him.

She had brought him out purely as free labour.

After buying Fang Anyu several sets of clothes, shoes, and various accessories, they kept shopping until Jun Yueyue could no longer walk. Fang Anyu’s hands and body were already so covered in shopping bags that there was nowhere left to hang them. That was enough for today.

Jun Yueyue found a drinks bar, bought drinks, and waved Fang Anyu over, pulling him down to sit.

Shopping with a woman could exhaust someone to the point that their legs and arms broke, but Fang Anyu did not show the slightest trace of fatigue on his face. His eyes were still darting around everywhere, as if he could not look enough.

Jun Yueyue removed all the bags still clutched in his hands, then held up two drinks of different colours in front of him, signalling for him to choose.

Fang Anyu froze. He knew these things were fruit juice. He drank fruit juice every day too, but those were freshly squeezed by the servants at home. He had never drunk this kind of colourful thing he had only seen on television.

“Which one do you want?” Seeing that he was not choosing, Jun Yueyue did not feel like writing either. Writing was troublesome as hell. So she simply shoved each cup to Fang Anyu’s mouth one by one, asking him to taste them.

Then she held both cups in front of him again, indicating that he should choose. In the end, Fang Anyu chose the red strawberry-flavoured one. Jun Yueyue drank the apple-flavoured one and leaned back in her seat, looking at a rotating, flashing staircase above the mall. She sighed with unprecedented comfort.

“God must have seen how miserable I was in my last life and decided to let me start over again…” Jun Yueyue muttered to herself. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Fang Anyu staring at her. She sat up and saw that his cup had actually already been emptied. He was looking at her innocently and harmlessly… at the drink in her hand.

“Did you unscrew your neck and pour it straight in?” Jun Yueyue still sighed whenever she thought about how Fang Anyu had eaten until he nearly burst his stomach, but she still smiled and handed him the drink in her hand.

Fang Anyu had never reacted so quickly before. He took it almost instantly, leaving Jun Yueyue stunned.

After being stunned, she could not help laughing again. After laughing for a while, she clicked her tongue. Ever since she had transmigrated into this book, she really had been happy. She laughed every day.

Jun Yueyue looked again at the colourful rotating staircase above, and a rare delicate sensitivity arose in her heart, bringing with it endless emotion.

But before she could be emotional for long, someone tugged at her.

She turned her head and saw that the cup in Fang Anyu’s hand was empty again. He was looking at her.

He still wanted to drink. This was so sweet. The fruit juice at home was said to be for his health, so they did not add much sugar, and the flavour was not as strong as this either.

It was rare for Jun Yueyue and Fang Anyu to have such tacit understanding. As soon as she met his eyes, she understood what he meant.

She decisively shook her head.

No.

Fang Anyu stared at Jun Yueyue persistently. Jun Yueyue was also very firm. She dug the little notebook out of his pocket and wrote swiftly—

You can’t drink anymore. If you drink too much of that, you’ll wet your trousers!

Actually, two cups really were a lot. She had only taken two sips. Those two large cups together were about two jin! Based on yesterday’s incident where he had almost eaten himself to death, Jun Yueyue had basically already understood his nature. He did not seem to have a sense of fullness.

Fang Anyu took the notebook and looked at it for a while. In his heart, he thought that wetting his trousers in public really did seem unacceptable, especially since he was wearing light-coloured trousers today. It would be very easy to see. So in the end, he obediently nodded.

Jun Yueyue did not know what he was thinking. Otherwise, she would definitely have bowed down in admiration. Did that mean if he had been wearing dark trousers, he would have refused to go home today unless he drank until he peed himself?!

She only saw the way he had no choice but to give up. He looked exactly like a puppy whose owner would not let it run wild. If he had ears, they would already be drooping. The corners of Jun Yueyue’s mouth unconsciously lifted again. She reached out and patted his head as a reward. Then she searched her pockets. She had no jerky to reward the puppy with, only popping candy that had come with the drinks earlier.

She tore open a packet, pinched Fang Anyu’s mouth open, and poured it in. Fang Anyu’s eyes immediately widened. His mouth crackled and popped. He had no idea what was happening and did not dare move at all!

Seeing him like that, Jun Yueyue laughed again. Then she took the little notebook and wrote—

Let’s go upstairs and see what that spinning, flashing thing is. Then we’ll go home, okay?

Fang Anyu took it and had not even finished reading when Jun Yueyue hung the messy pile of bags onto his hands and body, then dragged him onto the escalator.

From below, it had looked dreamy. From above, it was a total let-down. It was not a place selling sparkly things that girls would like. It was a hair salon.

But Jun Yueyue checked the time, then glanced at her long, straight black hair. She decisively took Fang Anyu’s little notebook and wrote—

Wait for me. I’ll buy you food. We won’t go back yet.

Beside them was a knockoff Kenmaishi. Jun Yueyue bought some fried food, came back, stuffed it into Fang Anyu’s hands, and had him sit on a chair in the corner of the hair salon to eat. Then she began discussing with the hairdresser how to perm her hair.

Fang Anyu quickly finished eating. However, he stayed very well-behaved the whole time, sitting there motionless. The young woman applying setting lotion to Jun Yueyue’s hair had her eyes glued to Fang Anyu, darting around him for quite a while before finally being unable to resist asking Jun Yueyue, “Is he your boyfriend?”

Jun Yueyue looked at the girl’s lovestruck little face. She had originally wanted to say no, but what came out was, “My husband.”

Of course, the girl was not so insane that she would develop improper thoughts about a man who came into the shop. Hearing Jun Yueyue say this, she said enviously, “Your husband is so handsome. He doesn’t look like a real person…”

Jun Yueyue smiled perfunctorily. With a head full of curling rods, she walked over to Fang Anyu, took his little notebook, and wrote—

Do you need to pee?

He had drunk so much water. Later, the fried food she bought had also come with a drink. Did he not need the toilet?

Fang Anyu lowered his head and glanced at it. A moment later, he wrote back—

No.

No?

Jun Yueyue expressed deep suspicion and also felt a little afraid. Fang Anyu had better not be like he was with eating, where he did not know whether he was full. If he also did not know whether he needed to pee, things would get lively.

So while getting her hair permed, she began feeling anxious. When she got too bored, she took out her phone and played a round of a game. When she looked up, she saw that Fang Anyu had been covered with a salon cape, and a man was applying something to the top of his head…

“Hey! What are you doing?” Jun Yueyue nearly dropped her phone. “He’s not getting his hair done!”

“Let him do it,” the guy replied while his hands moved efficiently. “The hair dye comes free with your perm. No extra charge. I saw how good-looking he is and thought it’d be a waste not to dye his hair a lighter colour…”

“What’s wrong with you?” Jun Yueyue was a little disoriented. The young man beside her who was checking the curl of her hair laughed and said, “He’s our boss. Usually, whenever he sees someone, he loves designing hairstyles for them. Once, he even grabbed someone who was just shopping and insisted on cutting their hair. He got beaten up for it.”

Jun Yueyue was rather speechless. Of course, if it had been anyone else, they would not have sat there so obediently and let themselves be dyed. But Fang Anyu was not anyone else. He was someone Jun Yueyue had slept with so easily. He did not know how to refuse!

But the dyeing had already started, and half of the hair dye had been applied. Jun Yueyue could only sigh helplessly. It was also not convenient for her to lose her temper, since her own head was still in their hands and not finished yet…

So she had no choice but to take out her phone and continue playing games.

A full three hours later, when the two of them came out of the hair salon, they had both turned into light-haired curly heads born from the same mother. Fang Anyu looked even more like a doll, and Jun Yueyue… looked like a female version of a doll.

It was really because that boss was sick. After dyeing Fang Anyu’s hair and hearing that the two of them were husband and wife, he insisted on doing hers too. Jun Yueyue refused, but he begged. If she still refused, he looked like he was about to kneel. He was simply ill!

When the two dolls walked out of the mall, it was already five in the afternoon. Outside, the sky was already turning dark. Fang Anyan had said in the morning that around noon, they were supposed to drive to Xiude Town to meet Old Master Jun.

Now it was already evening. Jun Yueyue hurriedly pulled Fang Anyu outside while taking out her phone to call the driver.

Almost every number in her phone had been blocked. Naturally, all of the original owner’s shady friends, babies, and honeys were quietly lying on the blacklist. Among them was Fang Anyan, saved under the note “Darling.”

As they walked out and came down the escalator, Jun Yueyue called the driver whose number she had saved today.

The driver picked up almost instantly. Jun Yueyue still did not know that during the day when she and Fang Anyu had been wandering around everywhere, Fang Anyan had sent out who knew how many people to search for them. He had nearly called the police.

Right now, he was still in the early stage. He had not yet grown into the novel’s domineering CEO who could say, “In half an hour, I want all information on this person.” On top of that, Jun Yueyue and Fang Anyu had been running around everywhere and constantly changing clothes, accidentally missing several waves of people who had come looking for them.

Even worse, she had saved the driver’s number in the morning but had not given the driver her own number, nor had she told him where she would go. Fang Anyan had been so anxious after only half a day that a row of blisters had appeared around his mouth, and his usually immaculate hair had been clawed into something like a bird’s nest.

He had even found the original owner’s lover and ambiguous partners, but when everyone called Jun Yueyue, all they heard was—

The number you have dialled is currently on another call.

These two had practically vanished from the face of the earth. The only hope was the driver Jun Yueyue had brought out in the morning. So when Jun Yueyue’s call went through, she had only said “hello” when she heard Fang Anyan’s gloomy voice from the other end.

“Have you been on the phone with the King of Hell all damn day?! Where’s my brother? Where are you?!”

Jun Yueyue froze. She and Fang Anyu had indeed stayed out a bit late. She had known that when she went back, Fang Anyan would definitely nag, but surely he did not need to be this crazy. He sounded like he was having a rabies attack.

Jun Yueyue moved the phone away from her ear, listened to Fang Anyan screaming on the other end, curled her lips, and waited until he had finished shouting. Only then did she put it back to her ear and say, “At Biyue Tower… Hey! Why the hell are you dragging him? Let go! Smack!”

There was the sound of something falling to the ground, and then the call actually hung up!

Fang Anyan nearly performed the act of shooting straight out through the car roof on the spot—
