Extra 2: Dragon Cub (2)
Mu Wanwan felt rather uncomfortable.
In her dream, it seemed as though an evil dragon had pinned her down in scorching lava. The dragon possessed a weapon that left her completely at a loss, plundering her like an absolute ruler. Several times, she struggled to open her eyes, only to see a pair of brilliant golden slit pupils.
At times, the evil dragon was gentle, as though soothing his little prey. Most of the time, however, he was so fierce that she could not put it into words.
This repeated itself for a very long time. The light brightened and dimmed, until she could no longer distinguish day from night.
Only when Mu Wanwan could bear it no longer and began to cry did the terrifying dragon seemingly realise that his prey was too fragile to be devoured all at once. His broad palm caressed her cheek as he kissed away the tears sliding down her face.
He called her name in a hoarse voice, over and over again, each call carrying a scorching passion she could not ignore. It forcibly dragged Mu Wanwan out of her sleep.
She opened her eyes and found herself staring into Mr. Dragon’s watery eyes, his dragon horns flashing *biu-biu* with light.
Furious, she raised her weak, limp leg and laboriously kicked a certain dragon aside.
“Get lost.”
This was probably the harshest thing she had ever said to him. 🙂
Unfortunately, Mu Wanwan’s overused voice was terribly hoarse, and the final syllable came out weak and breathless. Rather than sounding angry, it sounded exactly as though she were acting spoiled.
“All right.”
Mr. Dragon chuckled. Although he agreed aloud, his limbs wrapped around her like an octopus. He embraced her from behind and rested his chin in the hollow of her neck.
“Whatever Madam says.”
“Then… then you… get lost.”
Mu Wanwan’s damp fringe clung to her forehead. She was so exhausted that she could not even form a complete sentence. Her eyes were half closed, and she could see the faintly pink bite marks on her dangling wrist.
Her feelings were complicated—
That dragon truly understood nothing, just as she had expected.
Or rather, he only understood the tiniest bit.
But since they were now husband and wife, she had thought they could not continue living exactly as they had before, so she had guided him a little.
The result…
Mu Wanwan almost wanted to cry.
Once he finally *got* it, it was as though all his blocked meridians had suddenly opened. She did not know whether it was an innate dragon ability, but his improvement was astonishingly fast. He had tormented her while crying and blushing, even though she had not cried yet.
Honestly, it was far too much.
“Wanwan…”
Having tasted pleasure and lost all restraint, Mr. Dragon had successfully angered his wife. He deliberately drew out her name, softening his voice as though he were acting spoiled.
He sounded exactly like a baby dragon.
However, even the normally good-tempered Mu Wanwan was genuinely angry this time. She simply closed her eyes and ignored him. She was exhausted and desperately wanted to rest.
“Madam…”
When she did not respond, the dragon actually became aggrieved and called her several more times.
“Tired.”
After forcing out that single word, Mu Wanwan truly fell asleep from sheer exhaustion.
Mr. Dragon was still extremely energetic, but he realised that he had gone too far. He did not disturb her again. Instead, he climbed out of bed and carefully covered her with the quilt.
There was a small cut at the corner of his mouth, surrounded by a faint bluish-purple bruise.
Logically speaking, he was an immensely powerful expert whose physical defences were nearly at the maximum level. The fact that his lip was injured was rather thought-provoking.
First, how had it been injured?
Second, given the dragon clan’s formidable ability to heal, why had the wound not already disappeared?
Mr. Dragon blinked slyly and waved his hand through the air. A deep-black brocade robe with a slightly low neckline appeared in his hand.
Once the robe settled around him, most of the marks on his body that *could have* disappeared were concealed.
Three or four days had already passed since the wedding, and there were probably many matters awaiting his attention within the dragon territory.
Mr. Dragon walked slowly to the bedside and lifted the crimson curtains. He gently kissed Mu Wanwan’s forehead and quietly informed her,
“This dragon is going out.”
Mu Wanwan vaguely murmured, “Mm.”
The dragon’s eyes curved with happiness. In the next moment, he vanished from the room.
…
After their ruler had disappeared for several days, the newly appointed dragon officials finally saw him again.
Many matters requiring his approval had accumulated over the past few days. The newly appointed officials from the Black Dragon and Purple Dragon clans had grown so anxious over being unable to find him that they were nearly burning with frustration.
“Your Majesty, this subject has matters to report.”
A young dragon from the Purple Dragon Clan immediately knelt when he saw Mr. Dragon suddenly appear in the great hall. He efficiently reported a series of disturbances within their territory caused by the destruction of more than half of the Azure Dragon Clan.
“Understood.”
After the report ended, Mr. Dragon nodded to indicate that he understood the situation and issued several corresponding orders.
Once all the rather tedious reports had been completed, the officials were preparing to leave when they heard their ruler—who was rumoured to slaughter dragons without blinking—speak in a voice that was unusually less cold than normal.
“Thank you, my dragon officials, for the wedding gifts you presented several days ago.”
The Purple Dragon official became somewhat terrified and lowered his head until it nearly touched the floor.
“It was only what this subject ought to have done.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the remaining dragons hurriedly echoed him, terrified that they might say something wrong and displease the ruler before them.
Mr. Dragon’s phoenix eyes swept sideways, and he genuinely seemed a little displeased.
“What is it? Are your heads so heavy that none of you are willing to raise them and look at me?”
The young Purple Dragon was nearly frightened to tears. Trembling, he raised his head and looked at him. Mr. Dragon’s faintly displeased expression was reflected in his large eyes, along with the deliberate way Mr. Dragon tugged at his collar.
Caught off guard, the Purple Dragon spotted the marks on the neck of their noble yet ruthless ruler. His eyelid twitched, and then he noticed the cut at the corner of Mr. Dragon’s mouth. Remembering how their ruler had just casually mentioned the wedding, he felt as though he had suddenly understood something.
The other Black Dragons were all rather dense. They merely stared at Mr. Dragon with fearful, confused, and reverent expressions.
One of them, a young and inexperienced, hulking Black Dragon, spoke blankly.
“Your Majesty, are you injured?”
He was genuinely shocked.
“Who could possibly be capable of injuring you?”
Their ruler was the strongest person on the entire continent!
“Ah.”
Mr. Dragon gave an inscrutable smile and fixed his gaze on him.
“What do you think?”
Seeing that his foolish friend appeared to have gotten himself into trouble, the young Purple Dragon viciously pinched his own thigh. His palms were drenched in sweat.
“The—the queen… is truly, truly formidable.”
The oppressive gaze finally disappeared. Having received an answer that satisfied him, a certain dragon turned away with waning interest.
“Mm.”
The young Black Dragon belatedly realised that he seemed to have narrowly escaped disaster. He looked gratefully at the Purple Dragon, only to receive a tremendous eye roll in return.
In truth, they desperately wanted to leave the great hall and deal with the affairs that had accumulated throughout the territory. After all, remaining beside an expert who had surpassed the seventh rank placed enormous pressure on them, even when he did nothing at all.
But…
Mr. Dragon had not said that they could leave, so none of them dared to move.
Silence settled strangely over the great hall. The Purple Dragon looked at their aloof ruler and seemed to think of something. Turning towards the others, he asked,
“Suppose you accidentally angered your wife. What would be the best way to make things right?”
The three single Black Dragons who had absolutely no experience with romantic relationships stared at one another.
“…”
Mr. Dragon raised an eyebrow.
The little Purple Dragon—the only one among them currently pursuing someone—finally broke free from the crushing pressure and blurted out,
“Beg for her forgiveness, cook for her, and let her hit you as much as she wants.”
His words came out as cold and straightforward as flowing water.
Why was he being so foolish? His partner was merely a Purple Dragon whose cultivation was one rank below his. Whenever his partner became angry, it was perfectly normal for him to kneel on a washboard and let his face be pinched. He was usually also the one who cooked for his partner. Whenever he ate too much and got bitten, he only needed to beg pitifully for mercy, and his partner would forgive him.
That was why he had always believed that the little Purple Dragon—smaller than him but capable of eating more—was the finest partner in the entire world.
But losing his own dignity was one thing. The man standing before him was the sovereign of the dragon race.
A chill ran down the Purple Dragon’s spine. The other three Black Dragons gave him sympathetic looks.
To their surprise, however, their ruler contemplated his words for a moment before taking a rather unattractive little pouch from his sleeve. Patterns resembling ears and horns had been embroidered upon it. Mr. Dragon reached inside and pulled out several glittering gemstones.
“Not bad. A reward.”
The Purple Dragon accepted the gemstones. After a moment’s reflection, he instantly transformed into a flatterer.
“Your Majesty… your pouch is truly beautiful.”
“Mm.”
Mr. Dragon gave the Purple Dragon an approving look that plainly said, *Young man, you have excellent prospects—and excellent taste.*
He waved his hand.
“You may leave.”
With that, he disappeared from the great hall, leaving behind three utterly dumbfounded Black Dragons.
“…”
The Purple Dragon wiped away his cold sweat and explained to his three relatively close friends, both amused and exasperated,
“His Majesty…”
“He’s a wife-obsessed dragon who loves showing her off!”
The Black Dragons, who seemed to have finally understood something:
“…”
