ATNMDT Chapter 125

Extra 2: Dragon Cub (3)

After accepting what seemed to be excellent advice from his dragon officials and recalling the genuinely uncomfortable expression his wife had worn that morning, Mr. Dragon felt that he ought to do something.

“Beg for her forgiveness, cook for her, and let her hit you as much as she wants.”

Mr. Dragon quietly repeated the young Purple Dragon’s words, looking thoughtful.

As for cooking, he remembered that his wife seemed rather fond of a certain type of shrimp found at the bottom of the sea.

Mr. Dragon carefully packed away the dragon-horn lotus, then hurriedly used his spatial technique to travel to the seabed.

After searching for a long time, he finally found a third-rank deep-sea silver-thread shrimp. He cut off only its tenderest portion, intending to bring it home for his wife to eat.

However, the dragon soon encountered another dilemma—

The dragon…

Did not know how to cook.

When he was young, he had neither the opportunity nor the ingredients and firewood needed to experiment with cooking.

Once he grew older, he spent all his time wandering. He was still growing then, and even eating fully prepared ingredients was nowhere near enough to fill his stomach. Therefore, he either ate nothing or consumed enormous quantities in one sitting.

After becoming the Dragon Lord, there was even less reason for him to cook.

And so, after quietly returning home and finding himself confronted by the cold pots and unused stove in the kitchen, our Mr. Dragon—the strongest person on the continent, who wished to please his wife—was completely at a loss.

Approximately an hour later—

Mu Wanwan slowly awakened amid an indescribable smell.

Her body felt as though it had been run over by a huge cart. Every part of her ached terribly.

As her thoughts gradually cleared, all the absurd memories of the previous few days flooded back. Mu Wanwan caught sight of the red marks around her wrist, and her cheeks immediately burned.

“Madam.”

The door opened. Beyond the crimson bed curtains, Mr. Dragon, who had finally finished cooking, stood holding a plate and softly called out to her.

Hearing his voice, Mu Wanwan instinctively tightened her grip on the quilt. Her voice sounded somewhat nervous.

“Y-You should go outside first.”

The moment she spoke, a hoarse voice emerged, several tones deeper than usual.

“This dragon wants to stay with Madam.”

A certain dragon appeared to have acquired a taste for intimacy and was now taking advantage of it to demand even more.

Mu Wanwan could only burrow further beneath the quilt. Before she could properly hide herself, a long, slender hand lifted the curtains aside, and Mr. Dragon squeezed inside while carrying the plate.

She glanced at the bluish-purple bruise that had yet to fade from the corner of his lips. Remembering several indescribable scenes, she became rather uncomfortable.

“Madam, would you like to eat something first?”

Mr. Dragon revealed his ears and gave them a little shake. A streak of ash marked his cheek—apparently left behind by whatever he had burned. The food on his plate also seemed somewhat questionable. Although its colour looked relatively normal, its smell was strange no matter how she tried to interpret it.

But…

With him staring at her through those pitiful little eyes, Mu Wanwan could not help softening.

“Go outside first. I need to change.”

“Madam.”

The dragon drew out the final syllable. His voice remained cool and clear, yet the words he spoke were unmistakably coquettish.

“This dragon doesn’t want to go outside.”

Mu Wanwan: “…”

Speechlessly, she looked at the exceedingly clingy dragon whose true nature had suddenly been exposed. Then she simply covered her head with the quilt and ignored him.

An indulgently helpless look flashed through Mr. Dragon’s eyes. He placed the plate aside and leisurely wiped away the ash he had deliberately smeared on his face to gain sympathy. Reaching out with one long arm, he gathered Mu Wanwan—who was wrapped up like a silkworm cocoon—into his embrace.

“Let go.”

Mu Wanwan’s muffled voice came from beneath the quilt.

Although the two of them had already been intimate over the past few days and had seen everything there was to see, she still felt embarrassed at the thought of changing her clothes directly in front of him.

Unfortunately, this dragon appeared to have finally become enlightened and now thoroughly understood how to exploit the situation. He was also extremely heavy, making Mu Wanwan rather uncomfortable.

“Then this dragon will go outside. Later, could Madam help wash this dragon’s scales?”

Mr. Dragon whispered this wilful little request beside her ear.

“Mm.”

Wanwan agreed, coldly indicating that she was willing to satisfy such a request from her delicate little wife.

The delicate little wife smiled happily, shallow dimples appearing on his cheeks.

After the clingy dragon finally left the room, Mu Wanwan endured the discomfort throughout her body and quickly changed her clothes.

She was actually quite clean. During the brief time since she had awakened, even the deep marks previously covering her wrists had faded considerably.

As for what her delicate little wife had left behind, it had also been almost entirely absorbed.

Mu Wanwan shook her head, almost unable to bear thinking about it. With her body now possessing such extraordinary natural gifts, wasn’t she, in a sense, rather similar to Mr. Dragon after he had suddenly become enlightened?

She stopped thinking about the embarrassing question that made her blush whenever she touched upon it. After hurriedly washing up, she finally left the room.

The sunlight outside was warm and bright. Her delicate little dragon-wife sat on a stool, carefully holding the unappetising-smelling food in his broad hands. The fine, soft white fur that had regrown on his ears fluttered slightly in the breeze.

Hearing her approach, he turned his head. The sunlight cast a faint golden sheen over his usually pitch-black eyes.

When he saw her, he smiled—an open, unrestrained smile that he no longer needed to suppress.

Warmth spread through Mu Wanwan’s heart. With some difficulty, she moved her still-soft legs and slowly walked over to him.

“Wanwan.”

Mr. Dragon stood and pressed his beloved wife down onto the stool. He pushed forwards the plate of shrimp meat, which still looked silvery-white and translucent.

“Try it?”

Expectation shone in his eyes. Mu Wanwan picked up a slice of shrimp and slowly placed it in her mouth.

Almost instantly, an indescribable flavour spread throughout her entire mouth.

It was not so awful that she could not swallow it, but it certainly could not be called delicious. It barely had any flavour, yet somehow smelled terrible…

Although Mu Wanwan quickly concealed the brief distortion of her expression, Mr. Dragon still noticed it.

“It’s all right.”

Mu Wanwan swallowed the shrimp. After glancing at his seemingly unchanged expression, she picked up another piece.

Mr. Dragon caught her wrist and ate the shrimp she had just lifted, his expression perfectly natural.

“This dragon is hungry.”

Mr. Dragon sat beside her.

“Madam, feed this dragon.”

Mu Wanwan: “…”

She felt that his behaviour was rather shameless, yet she could not bring herself to refuse him. By the time she recovered from her daze, Mr. Dragon had eaten almost the entire plate, and the final piece was already held between his lips.

Mu Wanwan stared at the bruising around his lips and belatedly realised that he probably did not want her to eat the unpleasant shrimp.

Even though he had likely spent a very long time preparing it especially for her.

Her heart warmed. Mu Wanwan leaned over and kissed Mr. Dragon’s lips, sharing that last piece of unappetising shrimp with him.

But as they continued kissing, something gradually seemed to go wrong.

In the end, the promised washing of his scales never happened. Instead, Mu Wanwan herself was washed over and over again.

Later, the dragon became so excited that he transformed into his half-dragon form…

As for Wanwan being squeezed dry, then unfortunately breaking through the limits of the human body, and shortly afterwards even advancing while lying in his arms—there was no need to say more.

The days passed peacefully, and before they knew it, more than three months had gone by since their wedding.

The disorder within the dragon territory caused by the previous power struggle had largely settled. Most of the newly appointed dragons were responsible and dependable.

Mr. Dragon had thoroughly emptied the former strongholds of the Golden Dragon and Azure Dragon clans. More than half of their unclaimed treasures and gold coins were distributed among those who had helped them during the great battle, as well as the Special Lifeform Alliance, in gratitude for the care they had previously shown his wife.

He kept a portion of the treasures for himself, while the money and items he had accumulated—along with everything obtained from the inheritance grounds—were all stored inside a high-grade mustard-seed spatial ring and handed over to his wife.

Once again, he became an obedient dragon with empty pockets who could only rely upon his wife to support him.

Under the governance of Mr. Dragon and his officials, the people quickly recovered from the chaos and gradually resumed their normal lives.

After another month, once everything had been properly settled, Mr. Dragon prepared to take his wife and their still-unhatched eldest son on a journey around the world.

Before their departure, they received numerous strange voice transmissions and even several difficult-to-describe books.

Jiu Qing sent one. Aunt Hua sent another. Even the young Purple Dragon who had left a good impression on Mu Wanwan sent them a dual-cultivation manual.

The dragon’s eyes lit up when he saw it—he should not think she had failed to notice. →_→

The last time he had assumed his half-dragon form, she had nearly lost half her life. This time, she absolutely refused to agree!

Mu Wanwan privately decided that Mr. Dragon would not get his way, though she did not embarrass him in front of his officials.

After seeing the dragon officials off, Mu Wanwan returned to their room, still carrying Mengmeng’s egg in her arms.

Four or five months had passed since Mengmeng began his nirvana, yet the phoenix egg had only grown to roughly one and a half metres tall. Mu Wanwan could still hold it easily. She could sense the life force within growing increasingly powerful, and guessed that Mengmeng’s hatching day was not far away.

Mr. Dragon finished putting away the voice transmissions and books. He looked at her with smiling eyes.

“Madam, let’s go.”

Mu Wanwan nodded and was drawn into his embrace.

Their first destination was a lake within the dragon territory that, according to Mr. Dragon, was extraordinarily beautiful.

When Mu Wanwan opened her eyes, she found herself facing a rather sparse forest. At its centre lay a clear blue lake, its surface shimmering with pale-golden ripples. It truly was beautiful.

The lake stood high atop a mountain. Although it was already late spring, the temperature here remained cool, and the damp breeze felt wonderfully refreshing.

Mr. Dragon kissed her forehead.

“Madam, this dragon will go build us a house.”

Yet after speaking, he did not move for a long while. Instead, a trace of delight appeared on his face.

“What is it?”

Mu Wanwan paused. Feeling movement from the phoenix egg in her arms, her heart suddenly leapt.

“Quickly! Take out the spare bed and everything else from the spatial ring.”

Mr. Dragon became flustered. Despite normally being such a meticulous and graceful dragon, he was now completely at a loss. By the time he managed to take out the bed, cloths and other items, numerous cracks had already spread across the phoenix egg in Mu Wanwan’s arms.

Mu Wanwan carefully placed the phoenix egg upon the soft bedding. Mr. Dragon clutched a cloth in his hand. A faint cracking sound rang out as the woman and the dragon stared nervously at the fractured shell.

“Chirp…”

“Chirp!”

**Mother!**

Accompanied by those tender chirps, Mengmeng—whom they had awaited for so long—finally returned to their side once more.

He quickly and neatly climbed out of the shell and was wiped clean by his old father.

“Chirp~”

Mengmeng stretched out half of one little leg and kicked Mr. Dragon’s palm, calling him “Father.” When Mu Wanwan saw that the dragon’s nervous hands were trembling, she nearly laughed.

Having only just hatched after undergoing nirvana, Mengmeng was considerably larger than the tiny ball of fluff he had once been. All the feathers covering his body were snowy white, and the soft fledgling plumes atop his head had become two.

Not only had he retained his memories through nirvana, he had also become somewhat more mature.
