MDMSC Chapter 12

What About Me?

Jun Yueyue slept very soundly. The next morning, she was smashed awake by knocking on the door.

Her phone was on silent. Fang Anyan had started calling from around seven in the morning, and when no one answered by eight, he ran to the door to knock, his entire person extremely irritable.

Jun Yueyue was still half-asleep. Hearing the pounding on the door, she climbed up with great difficulty, threw on her robe, and, with her eyes closed, practically felt her way to the door before opening it.

“Are you two dead pigs?!” Fang Anyan started roaring the moment he saw Jun Yueyue.

Jun Yueyue had already grown used to his daily tantrums. She moved aside from the door, yawned, and walked back toward the bedroom.

Fang Anyu was still sleeping, and sleeping especially soundly. At this moment, Jun Yueyue felt a little envious. Being deaf had its benefits—no sound could disturb him.

In the end, it was Fang Anyan who woke Fang Anyu up. Once all four of them had washed up and appeared upstairs at the buffet restaurant for breakfast, Fang Anyu and Jun Yueyue still looked drowsy and half-asleep. Fang Anyan and Jun Yu, on the other hand, looked rather energetic, except for the dark circles beneath their eyes, which proved just what kind of terrible, unspeakable night the two of them had spent yesterday.

Once breakfast entered their mouths, their taste buds blasted their spirits awake. The four of them sat by the window, rarely harmonious and silent.

When Fang Anyu was about to take his sixth bun, Fang Anyan was just about to open his mouth when he saw Jun Yueyue press down accurately on Fang Anyu’s hand without even turning her head.

Usually, once Fang Anyu started eating something he especially liked, it was not easy to make him stop. Fang Anyan often had to persuade him several times. This morning, these sweet custard buns especially suited Fang Anyu’s taste.

But when Jun Yueyue pressed her hand on his, Fang Anyu really stopped. He licked his lips and looked at the plate, but truly did not move again.

Fang Anyan’s hand paused as he drank his porridge. An indescribable feeling surged up in his heart. He looked at Jun Yueyue with a somewhat complicated expression. It was really because she looked too natural.

So natural it was as if… they had already lived together for a very, very long time.

After breakfast, the four of them got into the car. Fang Anyan had not rested well at all last night, and today, while driving, his eyes were especially sore. He looked at Jun Yueyue in the back seat, full from breakfast and smiling as she wrote something in the little notebook with his older brother, and his mood grew worse and worse!

Last night, he and Jun Yu had been in the same room. One slept on the bed, the other slept in the living room. The sofa in the living room was uncomfortable to death, and he could not stretch his legs at all.

After forcing himself to drive for more than two hours, they got off the motorway and entered a rural road. Fang Anyan pulled the car over to the roadside, opened the rear door, and said to Jun Yueyue, “You drive. I need to sleep for a while.”

Jun Yueyue saw the panda-like dark circles under his eyes and agreed very readily. But when she got out from the back of the car, Fang Anyu followed her out too…

Fang Anyan could not even pull him back. In the end, it became Jun Yueyue driving while Fang Anyu sat in the passenger seat, and the two awkward people, Fang Anyan and Jun Yu, who did not know where to put their hands and feet, sat together in the back seat again.

Fang Anyan was so sleepy he no longer had the energy to feel awkward. He fastened Jun Yu’s seatbelt for her, but before he could comfortably lean back in the chair, his whole body suddenly jerked backward. He nearly snapped his neck.

Jun Yueyue had slammed the accelerator straight to the floor. With a *vroom*, the car shot forward—

“What are you doing?! Slow down!” Fang Anyan’s shout was drowned out by the buzzing engine. Jun Yueyue turned a deaf ear. After glancing at the navigation, she gripped the steering wheel and felt an excitement she had not felt in a long time.

During the apocalypse, she had driven through hordes of zombies, crashing through them recklessly. She was an expert at it. She liked the feeling of crushing zombies beneath the wheels and sending them flying into the sky. Just like how no one in the apocalypse did not want to end those endless days of never knowing whether they would survive until morning.

Of course, she was even better at driving cars like planes across all kinds of dangerous roads, dodging every kind of obstacle. Once her hands touched the steering wheel, nothing living or dead could surpass her!

Jun Yueyue focused completely, driving wildly and at high speed. Forget sleeping; Fang Anyan in the back could only rely on his powerful arm strength to ensure his skull did not smash into the roof and split open.

He could manage, but Jun Yu could not. Fang Anyan shouted several times, but Jun Yueyue did not listen. His face turned tense with rage. Seeing that Jun Yu was truly being tossed around uncomfortably, he grabbed the side of the car with one hand and wrapped his other arm around Jun Yu, pulling her into his arms so she would not be painfully restrained by the seatbelt.

Jun Yueyue saw this through the rear-view mirror and waggled her brows at Jun Yu. Jun Yu’s face turned red again. Fang Anyan glared at her viciously, but Jun Yueyue simply turned her gaze away.

There were no cameras for a long stretch on this kind of rural road. Jun Yueyue drove recklessly and joyfully for a while, then turned her head to look at Fang Anyu. The two in the back were fine; Fang Anyan would not just watch Jun Yu suffer. She was more concerned about whether Fang Anyu would feel uncomfortable.

But when she turned her head, Fang Anyu happened to turn his head too. Their gazes met in mid-air. Jun Yueyue swore she saw excitement in Fang Anyu’s eyes!

Exactly! What boy did not love speed and extremes?

Encouraged, Jun Yueyue was like a peacock with its tail lifted, beginning to show off all kinds of driving tricks. Fang Anyan cursed in the back, while Fang Anyu’s eyes grew brighter and brighter.

At last, they left that stretch of rural road. The route that had been estimated to take an hour and a half had been completed by Jun Yueyue in just over forty minutes. Before turning onto the main road, Jun Yueyue parked by the roadside. Fang Anyan got out and leaned against the car door, dry-heaving. Jun Yu had spent the latter part of the journey lying on his lap and was fine, but Fang Anyan had to maintain his balance while taking care of Jun Yu. It had indeed been quite painful.

“Are you damn crazy… ugh…” Fang Anyan leaned against the car door and retched several times, unable to speak.

Jun Yueyue looked at Fang Anyu as he got out of the car, reached over to take his little notebook, and wrote—

You need to pee now, right? Go pee. I see a big tree over there, and it even has a hollow. Perfect.

Fang Anyu did not look uncomfortable at all. He was covered in sweat. He knew this was called street racing, but he had never experienced it before.

The way he looked at Jun Yueyue had evolved from two second-tier zombie crystal cores to third-tier zombie crystal cores. His eyes were so bright it was as if fire was burning inside them.

He took the notebook and lowered his head to look at it for a while. Then he really went into the small woods beside them to pee. Jun Yueyue watched him from behind and laughed as she watched. He had really gone to the big tree with the hollow that she had jokingly mentioned…

Even without looking, Jun Yueyue knew that he must be obediently aiming at the hollow.

Fang Anyan drank some water and finally recovered a little. He walked over to Jun Yueyue and was just about to lose his temper when Jun Yueyue interrupted him.

“Have you noticed your brother’s reaction seems much faster?”

Jun Yueyue said, “His comprehension has improved too. Before, if I said something to him, I had to wait over ten minutes. Now, he can reply to me in less than two minutes.”

Fang Anyan’s anger was interrupted. He froze for a moment before saying, “Really?”

“Really.” Jun Yueyue nodded. As she spoke, she took the little notebook and showed it to Fang Anyan. “Look, your brother is so obedient. The tree he’s standing by is the one with the hollow…”

“Jun Yue! Are you sick?!” Fang Anyan slapped the little notebook away. “I’ve noticed your illness has been getting worse lately. Once we go back, going to the Third Hospital should be the priority!”

The Third Hospital was Qiuhai City’s psychiatric hospital. Jun Yueyue had read the novel. For a period of time, the female supporting character she had transmigrated into had been sent there by the male and female leads.

Jun Yueyue clicked her tongue, leaned against the car, and laughed. “Don’t be so petty. I didn’t scrape your car at all just now. If you don’t believe me, check it yourself.”

Fang Anyan sneered. “You took my brother to fight, and now you’re street racing. You’re pretty skilled, aren’t you? You really have every vice.”

Seeing Fang Anyu coming back, Jun Yueyue deliberately raised her voice and said to Fang Anyan, “Why do you always act like you’re carrying a bomb on your back? Is your heart uncomfortable because I haven’t said I love you lately or clung to you?”

Jun Yueyue had used this trick several times now, and Fang Anyan was no longer fooled. His brother could not hear. He continued looking at Jun Yueyue with disdain.

“Don’t think I don’t know what trick you’re playing. Playing hard to get won’t work on me.”

Jun Yueyue: “……”

You really are confident.

“Do you really want to see me play a trick?” She sighed, then quickly grabbed Fang Anyan’s hand and pressed it to her waist. Then she guided him into a turn and, with a *thud*, bumped against the car. It looked as if Fang Anyan had pulled her into his arms and would not let her go.

Jun Yueyue smiled and said wickedly, “This is what playing tricks looks like.”

As she spoke, she put one hand behind her back, firmly pressing Fang Anyan’s hand there so he could not pull it back, while using her other hand to reach toward Fang Anyu, who was walking over. With a face full of helplessness, she cried, “Anyu! Look at what your brother is doing! Save me—”

Fang Anyu could not hear, but he could see!

Inside the car, Jun Yu had seen and heard the conversation between the two of them and Jun Yueyue’s sudden action. She was dumbfounded. Fang Anyan reacted quickly, but no one could explain in just a few sentences to a deaf person something that he had seen with his own eyes, especially when Jun Yueyue symbolically struggled a little, then threw herself into Fang Anyu’s arms…

Fang Anyan met Fang Anyu’s gaze. There was no emotion in that gaze. It was light and weightless, yet Fang Anyan felt as if an entire mountain had pressed down on his shoulders.

He could only grit his teeth and glare at the back of Jun Yueyue’s head. Then he took the little notebook, wrote quickly, and handed it to his brother.

But when everyone had rested and they set off again, Fang Anyu still did not reply to Fang Anyan. No one knew whether he had understood Fang Anyan’s meaning, nor whether he believed him or not.

After doing something bad, Jun Yueyue sprawled comfortably in the back seat, using Fang Anyu’s legs as a pillow. Fang Anyan looked back from time to time, but not once did his gaze meet his brother’s in the rear-view mirror.

He tugged at his tie, becoming even more irritable.

The car sped along the motorway. By evening, the four of them stopped at a place about four hundred li from Xiude Town, preparing to eat dinner before setting off again.

There were no longer any bustling cities in this area. Their stop was a small town. After searching for quite a while, they found a restaurant that looked decently decorated. They requested a private room and began ordering dishes.

The food was served especially slowly. Midway through, Jun Yueyue took Jun Yu to the bathroom. In the narrow restroom, Jun Yueyue spent a great deal of effort lifting Jun Yu from the wheelchair onto the toilet. After helping Jun Yu arrange her clothes, she did not rush out. Instead, she thought for a moment and said a few words.

“I’m not interested in Fang Anyan. Once we go back, I’ll divorce Fang Anyu. I won’t fight for the company or land in Grandfather’s hands. I only want money.”

After Jun Yueyue finished speaking, she patted Jun Yu on the shoulder.

“Call me when you’re done.”

This was the most Jun Yueyue had said to Jun Yu since transmigrating here, yet it was in this kind of situation and environment. Jun Yu did not know whether to laugh or cry, but that did not stop her from being shocked by what Jun Yueyue had said.

Of course, Jun Yu did not believe Jun Yueyue’s words. This was not the first time her sister had used the banner of reconciliation to deceive her. Even if, along the way, Jun Yu could tell that Jun Yueyue had been creating opportunities for her and Fang Anyan, she still did not believe it in her heart. After all, from childhood to adulthood, her sister’s record was truly too full of misdeeds.

So in the end, Jun Yu only opened her mouth and said, “Okay.”

When Jun Yueyue pushed Jun Yu back, for some reason, an argument had already broken out in the main hall. Many people were gathered around the direction of the entrance. Jun Yueyue frowned, pushed Jun Yu a few steps toward the doorway, and realised that the group was gathered around the private room next to theirs.

“Fuck your mother! Who the hell are you?! Mind your own damn business!” came the voice of a man who was already so drunk his tongue was thick. Along with it came the muffled crying of a woman and the dull sound of fists landing on human flesh.

“Ah! You bastard! Ah—”

The restaurant owner’s wife and the servers were already gathered outside, but no one went in to pull them apart. One server took out a phone and was already calling the police.

The private rooms in this restaurant were not the type with closed doors. Instead, a cloth curtain hung down, making them semi-open. It blocked the position of the table, while the rooms were separated from each other only by thin boards. Both privacy and soundproofing were very poor.

Jun Yueyue stood not far from the crowd. Originally, she did not intend to get involved. But when she glanced toward the room where the fighting was still crackling away, she saw the shoes and trousers of someone standing in the corner of that room.

Her footsteps suddenly stopped.

The curtain blocked half of him, so she could not see his upper body. But with one glance, Jun Yueyue recognised him.

That was Fang Anyu!
