Is That All You’ve Got?
Jun Yueyue turned her head and looked over. Seeing Fang Anyan storming over aggressively, she watched as he yanked Fang Anyu away from her side, then shielded him behind his back like a fully protective mother hen.
“What kind of thing was that to say? What do you take my brother for?!” Fang Anyan narrowed his eyes. “I really don’t understand. How can two sisters be so different? Jun Yu is so kind, yet you’re this kind of person!”
Jun Yueyue tilted her head. Last night, when she had just transmigrated and gone to find Fang Anyan, the lights in the corridor had not been very bright. At the time, she had also been choked speechless by Fang Anyan’s words, so she had not seen his appearance clearly. Now that she looked at him properly, she had to admit that the male lead was indeed the male lead. His facial lines were sharp, and there really was that arrogant, untamed air between his brows and eyes that the book had described eight hundred times. His lips were thin, and that aura was indeed very handsome—more handsome than any man in the apocalypse who could be exchanged for with a single potato.
Jun Yueyue’s gaze slid down from his face, circling over the upper and lower parts of his body. In her heart, she thought again: he really did have the standard male lead setup. Long legs, a narrow waist, lean yet powerful-looking. Jun Yueyue still remembered how the novel had described the male lead’s body as being covered in a thin, not overly exaggerated layer of muscle, very pleasant to touch…
“What are you looking at?!” Fang Anyan flew into embarrassed anger.
Jun Yueyue’s gaze was far too naked, and highly invasive. The places where it lingered made Fang Anyan unable to tolerate it. She was his sister-in-law in name right now, and his older brother was still there. This woman was truly shameless to the extreme!
Jun Yueyue’s skull hurt from being shouted at. The tiny bit of goodwill that had just risen because of his good-looking skin instantly disappeared again. When she had read the book, she had quite liked Fang Anyan, but she had not expected that the tsundere trait that had been cute in the book would be so punchable when placed on a real person.
Jun Yueyue’s palm itched. She lowered her head and glanced at her sandbag-sized—oh, no, now only bean-bun-sized—fist. After estimating the combat power of her current thin arms and legs, she silently suppressed her violent emotions. She did not bother with Fang Anyan at all. Instead, she looked past him at Fang Anyu and said,
“Think it over properly. Tell me once you’ve decided.”
“Don’t go too far!” Fang Anyan roared behind Jun Yueyue.
His brother could not speak at all. Perhaps he could not even understand what this hateful woman was saying. Her behaviour was clearly humiliating his brother! Humiliating the Fang family!
Fang Anyan’s eyes reddened with anger. But when he thought of Fang Corporation, which was his father’s lifetime of hard work, he forced himself to hold back. His father was in poor health. Fang Corporation was facing a crisis in its capital chain. If the cash flow could not keep up, the newly developed property project in the south of the city could only become unfinished buildings. The initial investment had been too large and would directly drag Fang Corporation down.
Fang Anyan had watched the white hair on his father’s head grow more and more numerous. His father was so anxious he could not sleep night after night. If his life’s work were destroyed at this moment, his father, who had always been so strong-willed, would not be happy for the rest of his old age. It might even worsen his already poor heart condition.
His brother had clenched his teeth and entered this marriage precisely because of this. If this woman had not been so unbearably annoying, and if she had not been completely ignorant of business management, only knowing how to cause trouble, then even if marrying her would not bring the Fang family too much benefit, perhaps Fang Anyan himself would have gritted his teeth and married her.
But now, it seemed their family should never have agreed to let his brother enter this marriage!
Several ruthless words were on the verge of bursting from Fang Anyan’s mouth. But if they truly gave up the conditions Old Master Jun had offered… Fang Corporation really could not find a better partner.
Fang Anyan gritted his teeth, caught in a dilemma, repeatedly jumping between exploding and enduring. The veins at his temples bulged from restraint.
Meanwhile, Jun Yueyue rummaged through the wardrobe in the bedroom. She threw all the white dresses that the original owner had bought to pretend to be pure—each one looking like mourning clothes—onto the floor. In such a large wardrobe, she could not find a single piece of clothing that looked pleasing to the eye.
So she simply opened Fang Anyu’s small wardrobe beside it and found a shirt and pair of sweatpants that were wide on her, like stage costume clothes. Without closing the bedroom door, she directly took off her bathrobe and changed. To Fang Anyan outside, she said,“If you have something to say, say it. If not, get lost.”
After accidentally catching a glimpse, Fang Anyan was so shocked that he choked on his own saliva half to death. Furious, he turned around, closed his eyes, and roared,
“Jun Yue, are you fucking sick?! You’re insane!”
Fang Anyan had not expected Jun Yueyue to be so unrestrained. Before this, when this woman had tried to seduce him, she had used extremely stupid methods to act pitiful. Who could have imagined that she would suddenly change clothes without closing the door? She was simply deranged!
Jun Yueyue did not even turn her head. After changing, she rolled up the loose sleeves and trouser legs many times. When she came out of the bedroom, the two brothers were already gone.
“Tch.”
Jun Yueyue sneered and muttered, “That’s all he can handle?”
In the apocalypse, when even staying alive was an extravagant hope, who still cared about some ridiculous boundary between men and women? To Jun Yueyue, sleeping with someone was about the same as eating a meal. Changing clothes was nothing.
She had inexplicably transmigrated into the world of this book and could finally stop worrying about food. She no longer needed to fight desperately against encirclements of zombies to snatch supplies. Jun Yueyue had no intention of restraining herself to fit this world. She had lived like a rat for so many years and had already died once. Since even heaven had given her a chance to start over, she would be the one who was sick if she did not treat herself well.
At this moment, the door was knocked on again. A servant said from outside,
“Eldest Miss, the meal has already been served. Everyone is waiting for you downstairs.”
Jun Yueyue responded. She remembered that in the plot, the original Jun Yue had been extremely arrogant in the Fang family. Although she was already married, she refused to allow the servants to call her Young Madam and insisted they call her Eldest Miss. During meals, if they did not wait for her, she would throw a huge tantrum. In reality, it was all so she could eat every meal with Fang Anyan.
She searched the entire room but could not find a hair tie, so she had no choice but to find one of Fang Anyu’s handkerchiefs and tie her hair up somehow. Then, in this “improperly dressed” state, she went downstairs to eat breakf—no, lunch.
When she went downstairs, there were already people sitting at the table. Jun Yueyue swept her eyes over them, then paused.
Was this not the little couple, the male and female leads?
What surprised Jun Yueyue was that the two elders of the Fang family were not there, yet the female lead, Jun Yu, was actually here. But immediately after, she remembered this part of the plot.
It seemed that after the original owner and Fang Anyu got married, she had arranged for the two Fang elders to go travelling under the pleasant-sounding excuse of giving them a trip. In private, however, she had arranged another house for them to stay in after they returned, forbidding them from living together with her. But she refused to let Fang Anyan move out, all for the sake of carrying out her foolish seduction plan and using proximity to her advantage.
After the marriage, Old Master Fang used the excuse that the original owner had only just married into the Fang family and was not used to it, asking Jun Yu to stay with her for a while. But anyone could see that the purpose was far too obvious: he wanted to matchmake Jun Yu and Fang Anyan.
No matter how stupid the original owner was, she still understood the old master’s intentions. So during the time Jun Yu lived here, the original owner made things difficult for her in all sorts of ways and seduced the male lead right in front of her. In short, she courted death in an extremely excessive manner. Once, when Fang Anyan had come back from a business dinner so drunk that he was unconscious, she almost really caused a major incident. Fortunately, Jun Yu deliberately fell down the stairs. The original owner could not truly ignore whether she lived or died, so she left Fang Anyan’s room and sent her to the hospital.
However, after that incident, the fake sisterly affection between the two of them completely dissolved, so much so that later they became enemies because of Fang Anyan.
But those plot points had not started yet. At the time Jun Yueyue transmigrated over, the original owner was still at the stage where she openly tried and failed to seduce Fang Anyan.
At this moment, Fang Anyan sat at the table with a gloomy face. Jun Yu also sat there with a grave expression. The atmosphere was as tense as a business negotiation, without the slightest trace of romance. The book had written that the male and female leads fell in love after marriage, so right now, there were not yet any sparks between them.
Sitting alone with Fang Anyan like this, Jun Yu was so awkward she did not know where to put her eyes. As her gaze drifted around, she saw Jun Yueyue coming downstairs and froze.
Usually, this older sister of hers schemed over every little thing and secretly imitated her. Jun Yu had always known that she liked Fang Anyan. But Grandfather had said that she was to develop a relationship with Fang Anyan. Even if feelings did not develop in the end, they would still have to marry for the family alliance.
In the whole of Qiuhai City, there were indeed many young talents from wealthy families. But there was only one Fang family like this: a great building on the verge of collapse, with Fang Anyan himself capable but not yet fully established. Besides, her grandfather had investigated carefully. Fang Anyan was not only highly capable; most importantly, his character was good. He would not mistreat her after taking over the businesses of both the Jun and Fang families.
As long as the two families joined forces, they would surely become the biggest force in Qiuhai City’s real estate industry. Grandfather doted on her and wanted to give her, this useless person, the best possible future. That was why he had allowed her older sister to cause trouble and marry Fang Anyu.
Fang Anyu was deaf and mute, had no ability at all, and was only an eldest young master who never left the house. Jun Yu felt guilty about it. That was why she had always tolerated her sister in every way, and had even sworn to Grandfather that no matter what happened to her sister in the future, she and Fang Anyan would not mistreat her.
Usually, whatever she wore, her sister would wear too. But today, what she was wearing… This was…
Jun Yu thought of the marks she had just seen on Fang Anyu’s neck, which even his collar could not cover. She did not know what she thought of, but her face slowly turned red.
Jun Yueyue noticed her gaze and the change in her expression, but she did not care at all. She walked down the stairs. With each step, she looked as if someone had dismantled her bones; her posture was loose and lazy. The two mountains on her chest had no real restraint, looking like they were about to shake into a landslide. Clearly, she was not exposing anything, yet one glance at her felt like looking at something unsuitable for children.
Her long, straight black hair, which usually covered her face all year round, had been tied up, exposing her long, fair neck. There was even half of a shallow bite mark on the back of her neck. Her lip colour was no longer covered with foundation. Clearly, she had not applied anything, yet they carried a vivid red hue. She no longer deliberately widened her eyes to pretend to be innocent. Her eyes were half-open with careless indifference, and as they shifted, an improper, crooked kind of charm silently spread from her, impossible to ignore.
Jun Yu had actually always envied her sister’s good looks and figure. But because of Fang Anyan, her sister had always copied her style of dressing. Jun Yu had told her many times that Fang Anyan did not like her; he only took special care of her because of what had happened when they were children. But her sister had never been willing to believe it.
Actually, as long as her sister did not deliberately force herself into an innocent image, she looked good no matter what she wore…
Thinking of this, Jun Yu lowered her head, reached out, and pinched her own numb leg. She pressed her lips together.
Unlike her… who was a useless person.
Fang Anyan had already been driven half mad by Jun Yueyue’s unrestrained behaviour earlier. Hearing footsteps, he turned his head, about to scold her. But he also froze for a moment. Then, uncontrollably, his mind recalled what he had seen upstairs just now… In an instant, his face turned as red as Jun Yu’s, the two of them matching like a pair of monkey bottoms.
It was simply because Jun Yueyue’s lazy appearance, as if she might collapse onto the floor at any time, swaying as she moved, made it impossible to look at her directly.
Jun Yueyue looked at the two speechless monkey bottoms facing each other and assumed the two of them had started making eyes at each other. She could not help raising her brows.
Had the male and female leads already begun developing feelings at this point in the plot? Why did she not remember that…
However, Jun Yueyue was not particularly interested. Shipping real people did not have the same flavour as reading it in a book. Now that she had transmigrated over herself, she could no longer ship them. She was dropping the fandom.
She swept a glance around and did not see Fang Anyu by the table. So she walked over to Fang Anyan, who was nearest, and draped her boneless elbow over the back of his chair. Standing with no proper posture at all, she asked,
“Hey, where’s your brother?”
Fang Anyan felt Jun Yueyue approaching and thought she was acting up again. He turned his head and glared at her angrily, only to meet her serious, questioning gaze. The look she gave him contained no emotion at all. It was completely different from her usual sticky gaze when she deliberately looked for something to say to him. The words he had been about to explode with got stuck in his throat. His mouth opened slightly, but he could neither spit them out nor swallow them down.
The two of them stared at each other strangely like this.
A moment later, Jun Yueyue smiled. Her red lips curved into a beautiful arc, and she smiled brightly, revealing a set of white teeth. It was flamboyant and unrestrained, like a flower blooming right before his eyes.
One had to know that in the past, whenever she smiled at Fang Anyan, it had always been with feigned shyness. She had never smiled like this before. For a moment, Fang Anyan did not know what was going on with her. He kept feeling that everything about her was different today. Was she planning some new trick again…
But Jun Yueyue’s next words completely snapped Fang Anyan back to his senses.
“I asked you where your brother is. Where are you looking?”
Jun Yueyue stood up and crossed her arms, pretending to protect her rolling, rising-and-falling curves.
Then, with wicked intent, she narrowed her eyes. Under Fang Anyan’s stunned gaze, she looked toward Fang Anyu, who had just come out of the kitchen carrying fried eggs, and pouted coquettishly.
“Husband, your younger brother was looking here!”
She had not forgotten that Fang Anyan had cursed at her twice since she transmigrated. Even if he was the male lead, that would not do.
Fuck!
Fang Anyan stood up almost instantly. The chair scraped across the floor with an ear-piercing screech. Jun Yu shrank her neck at the sound. Fang Anyan’s face was so dark it could drip ink.
The look he gave Jun Yueyue could have killed someone, but facing Fang Anyu’s confused and bewildered gaze, he could not help opening his mouth to explain:
“Brother, don’t listen to her nonsense. I wasn’t looking!”
