I Dream of You Every Day
Jun Yueyue never expected, not even if she were beaten to death, that Fang Anyu would appear at this kind of event!
Although she had done nothing, and although she had already explained clearly to Fang Anyu in advance that, if forced into a corner, she might get engaged to or even marry someone else, facing Fang Anyu directly in such a setting and meeting those clear eyes of his still made Jun Yueyue feel guilty to the bone. For a brief moment, she was so nervous she did not know what to do with her hands or feet.
But Fang Anyu soon moved past her and walked further into the banquet. Jun Yueyue followed his back with her gaze, watching him until he sat down on a sofa not far away. He leaned against the backrest in a perfectly tailored suit, holding a glass of wine in his hand, and did not look in her direction again.
This was not the first time Jun Yueyue had seen Fang Anyu in a suit. But the last time he had dressed like this, Jun Yueyue had not had any thoughts about him. Even if she had thought he looked good, it had only been that: good-looking.
But now, Jun Yueyue’s heart and eyes were full of Fang Anyu. During the days they had been apart, she had thought of him every day, dragging through the days like years by relying on photos of him. Now, seeing him suddenly, not only was Fang Anyu dressed in a suit and leather shoes, even his usually messy curls had been meticulously arranged, revealing half of his full forehead. Sitting there, he looked so beautiful he was like an exquisite doll. Under the equally cold lighting, his cool white skin made people inexplicably want to step forward and test whether he had any body warmth.
Jun Yueyue’s eyes went straight.
Tonight, she herself had been deliberately dressed up by professionals. Her bright, beautiful looks had been given a few more traces of charm, and with her dress cut straight across the chest, plenty of people’s eyes had gone fixed. They smiled vaguely at Li Li and said in low voices that he was very fortunate in romance.
Li Li thought: fortunate in romance, my ass. If he were not holding her back, Jun Yueyue would probably already have run over to kneel and lick that man’s shoes. He did not want to become Pingchuan’s laughingstock: a fiancée going lovestruck over another man on the day of their engagement!
“Can you fucking wipe your drool?” Li Li grabbed Jun Yueyue’s wrist, using no small amount of force. Jun Yueyue had been struggling the whole time to avoid suspicion, and her movements were not small. Many people had already started looking over.
“Hurry up and let go!” Jun Yueyue also lowered her voice. “If he sees and misunderstands, I’m finished…”
The veins on Li Li’s temples were about to pop out. He especially wanted to splash the wine on Jun Yueyue’s face and make her sober up properly. Unable to bear it any longer, he forcefully wrapped an arm around Jun Yueyue’s shoulders and brought her to a deserted corner. Glaring at her, he said, “What are you doing?! Old Master Jun isn’t here, but do you really think the people here won’t report everything they see to him?!”
Jun Yueyue was so anxious that her feet kept stamping on the ground, her high heels clicking nonstop.
“What do I do?! After he saw you with your arm around my shoulders, he didn’t look at me again. Is he angry? What am I supposed to do…”
Li Li laughed from anger. “Do you badly want to run over and carry a bundle of thorns on your back to beg forgiveness? What deep hatred do I have with you that you want to paint my head green in front of so many people?”
Jun Yueyue also knew this was wrong, but she was panicking!
Just as she was afraid, a sudden crack of thunder came from outside the window. The fine, flickering lightning that had lasted all these days seemed to suddenly go mad. With unstoppable force, it abruptly lit the sky as bright as daytime and tore apart the black curtain of night.
Li Li and Jun Yueyue, who had been talking, both shuddered in fright at the same time.
“Fuck…” Li Li glanced outside through the corridor glass. He subconsciously wanted to grab his hair, but remembering that his wig was not very sturdy and would fall off if he grabbed it, he quickly stopped himself.
“Get yourself together. At the very least, don’t be like earlier, staring at him with your eyes straight and drool about to fall out.” Li Li looked at Jun Yueyue with frustration. “Endure it, okay? Later I’ll open a room upstairs for you, so you two can talk. When the time comes, get him into the room and explain whatever you need to explain, understand?”
Jun Yueyue nodded. Her originally panicked heart had actually calmed down after being struck by that bolt of lightning. She did not know why Fang Anyan had brought Fang Anyu here, but now they were at the final step. She had to stay calm. She could not let Old Master Jun see anything.
So Jun Yueyue took two deep breaths and nodded. “Let’s go.”
Li Li looked at her half-believingly. In fact, through their interactions during this period, he admired Jun Yueyue’s character very much. She was not pretentious, was bold, and was decisive no matter what she chose. Sometimes he even forgot that Jun Yueyue was a woman. At several social banquets, no matter what kind of scene it was, no matter how unpleasant the shareholders’ words were, she could sit steadily and refute them neither too lightly nor too heavily. It had to be said that if the Jun family really made her heir, with a team of professional managers following her, the family truly would not collapse. Old Master Jun’s judgment was indeed very sharp.
But only at moments like this—when Li Li looked at Jun Yueyue’s small face flushed red from nervousness, her panicked expression as if she had been caught cheating, and the way she stared straight at that delicate flower from before—did Li Li feel that she was just a young girl, a young girl who lost control in all kinds of ways upon seeing the person she liked.
He felt somewhat helpless, but also an indescribable kind of envy. He was not envious of that delicate flower she treated as though placing him on her head would frighten him and holding him in her mouth would melt him. He envied her extraordinary, burning-hot feelings.
Because many times, what adults lacked was not a romantic partner. It was the heart that could wholeheartedly like one person.
Before turning out of the corner, Jun Yueyue took a deep breath and arranged her expression properly, then returned to the banquet.
The guests had not all arrived yet. Jun Yueyue sent messages to Fang Anyu’s phone, but he did not respond at all. Jun Yueyue guessed that his phone was still confiscated. But after one round of pleasantries, she could not help sending Fang Anyan a message.
—Why are you here? Why is your brother here?!
Throughout the entire event, Jun Yueyue avoided the place where Fang Anyu was sitting. She was afraid that if she really passed by him and Fang Anyu looked at her once, she would kneel and crawl over to him.
She had never experienced this feeling before. When the two of them were together, Jun Yueyue had clearly been the stronger one. But they had not seen each other for so long, and Fang Anyu was dressed like this, sitting there with a cold face as if pretending not to know her. One glance from him made Jun Yueyue’s legs go weak.
These days, she had also contacted Fang Anyan many times, but Fang Anyan had never replied. This time, however, she unexpectedly received Fang Anyan’s response.
—I have investment intentions.
Fang Anyan only replied with this short sentence, but did not say why Fang Anyu was here.
No matter how desperately Jun Yueyue tried to control herself, she could not resist constantly looking in Fang Anyu’s direction. He simply looked too different today. He was already tall, and sitting there carelessly shaking the glass in his hand without bringing it to his lips, one leg crossed over the other, his suit trousers had ridden up slightly, revealing a short section of cool white ankle not covered by his sock. It was so delicate it made one want to hold it…
Jun Yueyue felt as if a cat was scratching inside her heart. She had already seen two waves of little vixens trying to go up and strike up conversation. Jun Yueyue sneered. But Fang Anyu was deaf and mute, and had no idea what their flirtatious posing meant. Both waves left resentfully.
Jun Yueyue held a glass of wine and stood beside the snack table, her fingers constantly scratching the tablecloth. Nothing was harder to endure than this. The person you liked was right in front of you. You clearly knew he was soft enough to fall with one pounce and be kneaded by you however you liked, yet you could not go forward at all. You could only dryly watch!
However, she did not suffer for long, because the main event of the banquet finally came. Jun Yueyue braced herself and stood on stage with Li Li, listening to Old Master Jun say how happy he was that she had found a place to belong, while also introducing the launch of the Gantan Mountain project.
Jun Yueyue did not hear a single word of the formal speech. When it was Li Li’s turn to speak, applause rang out below the stage. Jun Yueyue accepted Li Li’s engagement ring with a stiff smile, but her eyes crossed over the crowd and saw Fang Anyu standing not far away, also looking in this direction.
Fang Anyan stood beside him, his hand holding Fang Anyu’s shoulder. Fang Anyu looked at Jun Yueyue. Their gazes briefly met in the air. Suddenly, Fang Anyu lifted the glass of wine he had been holding the whole time and downed it in one go.
Jun Yueyue almost cried out. She had never seen Fang Anyu drink before. It had only been a little over a month. Had all those injuries on his body healed yet?!
Why had Fang Anyan brought him here? Was it to make Fang Anyu give up? Jun Yueyue could not help beginning to think conspiratorially again. She barely forced herself to listen to everyone’s blessings, then used feeling unwell as an excuse to hide in a corner, watching helplessly as Fang Anyu ignored Fang Anyan’s persuasion and drank one glass after another…
Jun Yueyue felt as if her heart and lungs were being clawed at, but she really could not go over. Everyone’s eyes were on her. Fang Anyu’s appearance here might even have been Old Master Jun’s request, precisely to test her. As for Fang Anyan’s claim of investment intentions—bullshit. If the Fang family had money to invest, would they have needed to sell their son?
Fang Anyu looked as if he had already drunk quite a lot, but he still had not stopped. Just as Jun Yueyue was about to be unable to endure any longer, Li Li walked to her side and stuffed a room card into her hand.
“1025. Find a way to call him over and explain properly.” Li Li lowered his voice. “The old man left first with one of his old friends. I’ll keep watch here.”
Jun Yueyue had never felt that Li Li was such a good person. She was so moved she nearly cried and nodded hard. But in fact, Li Li had also seen Fang Anyu drink a lot. He was afraid that if the delicate flower went mad from alcohol and ran over to hug his “fiancée,” his reputation would be gone.
Jun Yueyue held the room card at the corner and sent Fang Anyan a message, asking him to take Fang Anyu upstairs. Fang Anyan did not reply. Jun Yueyue felt uneasy. She paced in front of room 1025 for a long time and was just about to think of a way to go call him herself when Fang Anyan finally brought Fang Anyu over.
However, he shielded Fang Anyu behind him and frowned at Jun Yueyue.
“I brought him here to make him give up. What else are you trying to do? You and my brother are already divorced. Your fiancé is still downstairs entertaining guests. Jun Yue, you…”
Before Fang Anyan could finish, Fang Anyu suddenly grabbed the back of his collar and flung him aside. Fang Anyu walked to Jun Yueyue’s side. There was an abnormal flush on his face, instantly bringing life to his cold white skin that seemed carved from porcelain. He slowly approached Jun Yueyue and lowered his head to look at her. His eyes were as clear as always, but there was an added, unreadable darkness inside them.
Thunder and lightning continued outside. Fang Anyan was just about to come over when Fang Anyu suddenly bent down, lowered his head, pressed Jun Yueyue’s shoulders, and kissed her. Fang Anyan was so frightened he jumped. His brother had begged him to bring him here. They had agreed that he would only look once and absolutely would not do anything.
His brother had been especially obedient since childhood and had never made anyone worry. Fang Anyan had softened for a moment, because he had never seen his brother like that before, almost as if he were about to cry. That was why he had agreed to bring him.
At first, Fang Anyan had still watched him, but his brother had obediently sat there, and really had only looked once. He had not caused any trouble. Fang Anyan had even thought that after they went back, he could use this opportunity to make him completely give up. He had only just returned from abroad and had heard from his mother that Jun Yue, this bastard woman, had not only dumped his brother but had also instigated him into jumping from a building. He had been preparing to settle accounts with this woman…
But then…
Fang Anyan stared dumbfounded as his brother scooped this woman up entirely and pressed her against the door, kissing her with such aggressive force that he did not even leave her a chance to breathe.
Fang Anyan had unfortunately run into these two being intimate many times already. But hearing it through a door really was not as stimulating as seeing it with his own eyes. He had never imagined that his brother could actually be this forceful.
Jun Yueyue truly could not breathe. The dress she was wearing was close-fitting. Being held up like a child like this, it had the tendency to slide up to the roots of her thighs.
Her brain was about to be stirred into a pot of porridge by the tip of Fang Anyu’s tongue. Barely managing to spare a little attention, she felt around with the room card and pushed open the door handle behind her.
Under Fang Anyan’s dumbstruck gaze, Jun Yueyue and Fang Anyu fell backwards together, landing on the carpet at the entrance of the room.
Jun Yueyue could not care about Fang Anyan anymore. She grabbed Fang Anyu’s arm and rolled them around once, then used her foot to kick the door shut again.
Click.
The automatic door lock sounded. Fang Anyan stood in the corridor with his lips slightly parted, not changing posture for a long time.
“Fuck!” He quickly moved to knock on the door, but suddenly felt a chill at the back of his head. A black gun barrel pressed against the back of his skull, and behind him came a woman’s low, hoarse voice that sounded as though it had been rubbed by gravel.
“Baby, you asked me to wait for you, but I don’t have much patience.”
The woman was dressed very strangely, unlike every other woman at the banquet. Her hair was neatly tied behind her head, not a strand out of place. Her top was a sharp tactical vest, paired with camouflage trousers and high military boots. Around her waist was a black nylon pouch divided into many small compartments. In every compartment were knives of different models and uses.
Almost the instant Fang Anyan heard the woman’s voice, his arrogance completely disappeared. His whole body even visibly began trembling.
“Hurry up, don’t waste time. I have to go back tomorrow.” The woman looked rather different too. Her nose bridge was much higher than that of ordinary women, her eye sockets slightly sunken. Her eyes were not pure black, but a pale grey. Paired with the faint curve of her thin lips pressing together, she looked somewhat cold and carried a fierce meaning.
However, if one did not look carefully, her mixed-race features were not very obvious. She was even harder to distinguish than those who had deliberately put on makeup.
With a gun—an absolutely controlled item in this country—pressed against the back of his head, Fang Anyan swallowed. His trembling became even more obvious.
“Next time I come, it’ll be several months later. Be good.” The woman moved her arm, and the gun barrel travelled from the back of Fang Anyan’s head all the way down his spine, stopping at his tailbone.
“As long as you perform well tonight, I’ll give you all the money from this mission for your investment, okay?” After the woman finished speaking, she happened to meet Fang Anyan’s trembling face as he turned around. Suddenly, she curved her lips and laughed, bold and dazzling.
“Still angry about that night?” The woman shrugged. “You were the one who walked into the wrong room and ruined my good thing. Of course you had to compensate me with yourself. Besides, weren’t you very satisfied with the compensation you gave me?”
Seeing that he was trembling too badly, the woman put away the gun and reached out empty-handed to pull him.
“Hurry up. Kasan already sent me a message. There’s a mission over there, and I have to fly back tomorrow morning…”
Fang Anyan’s hands and feet were ice-cold, and his whole body felt chilled. But when this woman pulled him, he obediently followed her like a puppy, entering another room with an open door.
Click.
The electronic lock automatically closed. Fang Anyan’s heart suddenly jumped because of the sound.
The next second, the woman in front of him took the gun from the back of her waist and casually threw it onto the table. Right in front of him, at lightning speed, she removed every piece of fabric from her body.
“Baby, want to shower together?”
A body with muscles even more vigorous than a man’s, covered in scars, was exposed before his eyes. Fang Anyan pressed himself against the door and shook his head like a rattle drum, looking exactly like a pitiful innocent person forced into prostitution.
That day, he had been discussing business in a bar in Bexar. The other party had changed their mind at the last moment, and he had been utterly defeated. If this negotiation failed, their family probably truly would not be able to hold on. He felt terrible inside and drank several more glasses. Then, when looking for the bathroom, he pushed open the wrong door…
Fang Anyan still remembered how shocked he had been at the time. This woman was holding a small knife and measuring against the heel of a person’s foot. That person was tied up, whimpering nonstop, with multiple knife wounds on their body.
Fang Anyan still remembered that when the tied-up person saw him enter, while the woman froze, he somehow broke free of his restraints, sprang up, and ran towards the door. He knocked Fang Anyan to the ground, then directly smashed through the second-floor corridor glass and jumped down…
Fang Anyan had grown up in a law-abiding society. No matter how much he had seen on TV, he had never personally witnessed such an explosive scene.
Where was the law?!
He had only heard that Bexar was chaotic, that government troops often fought with mercenaries, and that if someone died on the main road, no one might care for a day or two. But those were only things he had heard. Fang Anyan had gone there twice and had never seen anything that truly exceeded the bounds of a lawful society.
This time, he was genuinely stunned. He had been knocked to the ground, but his eyes were fixed on the blood on the bedsheet. It belonged to the man who had just jumped from the building.
That woman also chased out like the wind, but she did not jump down after him. Instead, she stood by the window and sighed, “What a pity.”
As for how Fang Anyan was dragged by the leg back into the room, how a gun was pressed against his head as he kissed a strange woman, and even… his memories of it were still somewhat blurry.
He only remembered that the woman told him she was a mercenary. She told him that he had let the gift someone else had given her escape, so he had to compensate her…
Fang Anyan had truly been frightened badly. He had been so scared that the entire night, he had not managed to release even once. The woman had been so surprised it was as if she had found a treasure, and from then on, she had latched onto him.
He had tried calling the police, more than once. But every time he called the police, not only could they not catch her, they could not even find a single trace of her. It made him look as if he were lying.
But as soon as the police left, she would appear from who-knew-where. In the span of a month, Fang Anyan had gone from screaming in terror at the beginning to now gritting his teeth and accepting the money she gave him to fill the Fang family’s funding gap. The mental journey involved was not something outsiders could understand.
He could not shake her off, could not break free. She was a desperado. She could easily dislocate his joints, and she could put them back together again like she was playing. After the fifth time he called the police, she pressed a gun to his head. The sound of the gun being loaded almost scared Fang Anyan into wetting himself.
In the face of death, he no longer dared to gamble. He was only an ordinary person…
Fang Anyan stayed pressed against the door until the woman finished washing. Then she pulled him by the tie and stuffed him into the bathroom.
Fang Anyan, who had been so aggressive towards Jun Yueyue earlier, now showered like a tiny quail. Unlike the brutal situation on Fang Anyan’s side, after Jun Yueyue and Fang Anyu rolled onto the floor, Fang Anyu seemed to have knocked into something and stopped with a frown.
Jun Yueyue quickly inserted the room card into the slot. The room lights came on. Fang Anyu was holding the leg that had been injured when he jumped from the building last time, his brows tightly furrowed.
Jun Yueyue quickly rolled up his trouser leg to check. She could not really see anything, but she knew that it had only been a little over a month since his injury. Walking around like this after removing the cast was really somewhat forced.
Jun Yueyue helped Fang Anyu sit down on the sofa in the suite. Squatting beside him, she massaged his leg. Fang Anyu’s brows slowly relaxed. Leaning against the sofa, he narrowed his eyes and looked at Jun Yueyue. From his angle, Jun Yueyue’s strapless dress was truly “tailor-made.”
He moved his neck slightly. The dryness brought by the alcohol made him unable to resist reaching up and tugging at his tie. Jun Yueyue took out her phone and typed:
—Is it better? Does it still hurt? I’ll go find some medicine spray for you. Wait here.
Jun Yueyue had just stood up and was about to leave when Fang Anyu suddenly grabbed her and pulled her onto his lap. He frowned again, but only very briefly.
Jun Yueyue stared at him with wide eyes. Fang Anyu tilted his head like this and continued kissing her. He was somewhat drunk and hazy, so his eyes looked blurred. Because he had tugged his tie loose himself, his collar had also opened a little. Jun Yueyue could see that even the skin on his neck, which should have been cool white, had turned slightly pink.
Jun Yueyue had never seen Fang Anyu drink before. Before today, she had only seen one situation where Fang Anyu’s whole body became this kind of pinkish white: when the two of them did that thing.
Jun Yueyue did not know whether she had been steamed by her own wild thoughts, but the roots of her ears also turned red. However, the guests outside still had not left. This was her and Li Li’s engagement banquet. Even if it was fake, she still could not.
But Fang Anyu was too direct. In his hands, Jun Yueyue had no resistance at all. Especially when he was a little drunk, his blurred gaze looked down from above, his curls scattered across his forehead, his tie crooked to one side. This appearance was simply too deadly.
Jun Yueyue forced herself to hold onto a shred of reason. At the critical moment, she pressed down on his shoulders, picked up the phone from the floor, and quickly typed:
—No, really. The engagement banquet outside isn’t over yet. I still have to see the guests off later. Besides, doesn’t your leg hurt? Li Li might come looking in a while. We can’t do this…
After Fang Anyu read it, he gently closed his eyes and shook his head slightly. Then he slowly got up. He sat properly back beside the sofa, his gaze lowered. All the dazed, tempting look from earlier had been replaced by loneliness, as if all the strength had been instantly drawn out of him.
His fingers, flushed an unnatural red, slowly buttoned his shirt one by one. The tie that had been loosened a little was also slowly pushed back into place.
Silently, he straightened his cuffs, the buttons of his suit jacket, and the trouser leg that Jun Yueyue had rolled up.
Jun Yueyue watched his movements and expression. For some reason, it felt as if a little knife were cutting back and forth across her heart.
Fang Anyu really was too obedient. He sat properly, reached up to tidy his hair, his long fingers passing through the strands as he smoothed his messy hair. He even hugged the cushion beside the sofa, covering the unspeakable torment he was enduring.
After doing all this, he recovered from his brief loss of control. He lowered his head and calmed his breathing. His Adam’s apple rolled once. Only then did he lift the corners of his mouth and turn to look at Jun Yueyue. The emotion in those eyes that had suffocated Jun Yueyue was gone, replaced by the soft warmth that had never changed.
Jun Yueyue watched him finish all of this with her own eyes. After forcibly suppressing himself, he even pulled open a smile at her. She nearly cried.
But she barely suppressed the soreness in her nose and the mess of emotions inside her. After tidying herself up too, she picked up her phone and typed:
—Why are you here?
After Fang Anyu read it, he took the phone and replied:
—I knew Anyan was coming. I begged him to bring me. I missed you too much. I dreamed of you every day. I couldn’t bear it anymore.
Jun Yueyue opened her mouth, and her eyes instantly turned red. But Fang Anyu thought he had said something wrong and quickly typed again:
—I promised Anyan that I would only look at you. I really didn’t intend to ruin your engagement. I only wanted to look.
Jun Yueyue reached up and pinched the bridge of her nose. Seeing her tears fall, Fang Anyu nervously typed again:
—I’m sorry. I was a little drunk just now. I won’t do it again. Don’t cry. I’ll leave now.
After Fang Anyu finished, he placed the phone on the sofa beside Jun Yueyue and really got up to walk towards the door.
Jun Yueyue let out a choked sob. When Fang Anyu reached the door, she hugged him from behind.
Fang Anyu turned back and reached out, very gently wiping away her tears. He lowered his head and kissed her forehead. He even smiled at Jun Yueyue. The meaning was truly easy to understand.
I’m fine.
How could he be fine? Even if Jun Yueyue had already explained everything clearly to Fang Anyu, even if he had agreed to wait for her, Jun Yueyue did not dare imagine what kind of feelings he had carried when, with his leg and hand still not fully recovered, he begged his younger brother to bring him here to see her.
What kind of feelings had he held when he agreed to only look once and then did not dare look at her again?
What kind of reason had he used to hypnotise himself into believing this engagement banquet was fake? If their positions were reversed, if she were Fang Anyu, she would have gone mad long ago.
But his madness was only drinking a few extra glasses of wine. If Jun Yueyue had not asked Fang Anyan to bring him here to meet her, Jun Yueyue believed he would definitely have gone home obediently, holding onto the promise she had given him that day, and continued waiting for her to find him.
His loss of control just now, the longing he had forcibly reined in because of one sentence from Jun Yueyue, and his forced smile now all made Jun Yueyue feel like she was scum.
How could she possibly bear this? She knew everything she had said was true. But Fang Anyu was not her after all. No matter how much he believed her, it was impossible for him not to feel hurt.
Jun Yueyue looked up at Fang Anyu and smiled through her tears. After experiencing that kind of betrayal, to be able to meet someone in this lifetime who believed her unconditionally—how could she bear to let him suffer like this?
So Jun Yueyue took the initiative to stand on tiptoe and kiss the curve of his forced smile.
After Fang Anyu froze for a moment, he held her tightly and responded deeply.
His hair became messy again. His buttons scattered open again. The two of them spun around and fell onto the sofa. This time, Jun Yueyue pressed Fang Anyu down again.
Fang Anyu still obediently sat up, but there was a heat rolling in his eyes that did not match his cold appearance at all. No matter how he tried, he could not suppress it.
Jun Yueyue did not need him to suppress it either. She grabbed the phone and quickly typed:
—You just sit. I’ll do it. This way your clothes won’t get messy, and you won’t hurt your calf.
After Fang Anyu read it, he gradually relaxed and leaned back against the sofa. But the misty haze in his eyes and the way he slightly raised his head to reveal his Adam’s apple made Jun Yueyue remember the time they had gone to a hotel room, when Fang Anyu had taken care of himself.
Jun Yueyue belatedly realised that back then, when he had done that without locking the door, it had been open, blatant seduction.
Jun Yueyue had no resistance to him, especially when he deliberately seduced people like this. Jun Yueyue fell completely.
The sofa was leather, dark red leather, with very good elasticity. When long, slender fingers pressed into it, deep dents sank in one by one. It seemed unable to bear the pain, making creaking sounds every time the fingertips pressed down, like it was crying out. Occasionally, when the leather surface was gripped especially deeply, it would tremble and shake.
Only, the sofa was placed on carpet. Its trembling was silently smoothed over by the carpet. No matter how violently it shook, it was pinned firmly in place, unable to move even half a step. It could only endure, bear it, until the hand gripping its leather surface softened and fell away. Only then did this torment stop soundlessly once more.
Jun Yueyue’s arms loosely hooked around Fang Anyu’s neck. Her exquisite updo was not messy. Even her makeup had not smudged. Only the fine, soft hair sticking damply to her temples and the back of her neck reflected what its owner had just experienced.
Fang Anyu held Jun Yueyue’s waist, turning his head to gently kiss her slightly damp face. Their clothes were both intact. At first glance, it looked as if they were only embracing intimately.
But only the two of them knew that they were now sinking together into the dizzy aftertaste, unwilling to part from each other.
Jun Yueyue was indeed terribly dizzy. Fang Anyu had missed her so much he could not bear it anymore, but how was she any different? This absurd, inappropriate intimacy, like a secret affair, had unexpectedly made her experience an unprecedented peak.
Fang Anyu was still kissing her cheek densely and carefully. Jun Yueyue smiled, reaching out to feel his hair and help smooth the disobedient strands.
Neither of them tried to say anything more. They only quietly leaned against each other like this, experiencing the peace and warmth that could only be felt beside one another.
Jun Yueyue found it very magical. She mocked herself. Her senses were all occupied by the person in her arms, as if even the thunder and lightning outside the window had stopped. She could hear nothing.
After who knew how long, the two of them finally got up and went to the bathroom together, helping each other tidy up the mess. Fang Anyu’s brows and eyes were gentle. Every time Jun Yueyue looked up at him, he would lower his head and press his lips to her face.
The two of them dawdled in the bathroom for a very long time before finally tidying themselves up.
Jun Yueyue touched up her makeup and helped Fang Anyu dry the waist of his trousers with a hairdryer. Although they were a little wrinkled, it would not be visible unless someone stared closely.
After the two of them had tidied everything up, they nestled together and communicated with the phone.
Jun Yueyue was explaining why she had let Li Li place his arm around her shoulders. Fang Anyu got stuck on this point, questioning her because she had clearly said she would not let anyone other than him touch her.
But in that kind of setting, pretending to put an arm around someone’s shoulders was basic. The “touch” the two of them were talking about was not the same “touch” at all.
So Jun Yueyue explained again the difference between acting for appearances and genuinely doing it like just now. Fang Anyu then asked whether she had genuinely done it with that fiancé.
Jun Yueyue was about to go mad. She typed three “no”s in a row and even used three exclamation marks. She also pointed to the sky in front of Fang Anyu as if swearing an oath.
Fang Anyu did not show any sense of coercion or tone of interrogation throughout. He merely asked Jun Yueyue these questions very calmly, like casual household chatter. But Jun Yueyue completely believed that if she did not decisively cut off his wild thoughts, Fang Anyu might next ask which genuine one she preferred, his or Li Li’s.
After a long round of explanation, explaining until sweat appeared on Jun Yueyue’s forehead, Fang Anyu finally blinked and nodded to show that he understood and believed her.
Jun Yueyue felt that this explanation had tired her out more than the “squats” she had done earlier. Leaning against Fang Anyu’s shoulder, she was exhausted and did not know whether to laugh or cry.
A delicate flower really was not something ordinary people dared touch…
After great difficulty, Fang Anyu finally stopped asking this and that. Holding her, he started talking about how the little fish and little turtle at home were living peacefully together. Then the door was knocked on with a loud bang, bang, bang.
Jun Yueyue truly wanted to pretend not to hear it, but the knocking was too urgent. She could basically guess who it was. The banquet was probably almost over, and she had to follow Li Li to see off guests.
But when she opened the door and saw Fang Anyan and Li Li standing together outside, she still raised her brows in surprise.
The moment Jun Yueyue opened the door, Fang Anyan asked, “Where’s my brother?”
When Li Li saw Jun Yueyue, his eyes changed. He was so irritable that he spun once on the spot, then reached up and grabbed his hair, yanking his wig off.
“You… how are you supposed to see off guests looking like this?! Didn’t you say you were just going to explain?!” With one glance, Li Li saw the redness that had not yet faded from Jun Yueyue’s face. She herself could not tell in the mirror that she looked like someone who had been thoroughly nourished, but outsiders could see it at once.
Especially Li Li, who had been in this circle for a long time and had seen too much. From the first glance, he could tell that if she went out to see guests off like this, he was finished.
He had been entertaining guests outside for ages, and meanwhile, his fiancée had been nourished by someone?
He did not care about being green, because the two of them were in a cooperative relationship. But that did not mean Li Li did not care about other people seeing the green on his head—
He was so angry he was like a tyrannosaurus. But he was not the only one who looked like a tyrannosaurus. Fang Anyu also got up and walked to the door. The moment Fang Anyan saw his brother, he also exploded.
They were both men, and both had just done it. How could he not tell?
He instantly exploded as well, synchronising perfectly with Li Li—
“Do you have no shame?!” Fang Anyan’s eyes almost split open.
“What am I supposed to do with you looking like this?!” Li Li looked utterly collapsed.
Both were aimed at Jun Yueyue.
Jun Yueyue froze for a moment. Then she saw Fang Anyan suddenly remember something and turn to Li Li.
“Your fiancée, and you’re not controlling her?! Bro, even your wig is glowing green!”
Li Li scratched his itchy short stubble from wearing the wig. Hearing this, he turned his head to look at Fang Anyan.
He was already full of pent-up anger. He could not take it out on Jun Yueyue because she was a woman. He could not take it out on Fang Anyu because Fang Anyu was deaf and mute, and also because Fang Anyu’s gloomy eyes made even fearless Li Li feel like he was the mistress who had been caught…
The anger was about to shoot out of his brain. Fang Anyan happened to crash right into the muzzle. Li Li suddenly smiled.
“Is my head glowing? What were you doing being dragged into a room with a gun pointed at you? There are fucking cameras in this corridor. Mixing with that kind of person, be careful the police don’t arrest you!”
And so Jun Yueyue watched as the two tyrannosaurs started arguing back and forth in the corridor…
