Before today, the fat man had never imagined there would come a day when he would fall to such a state.
For the past month, he had basically lived like a local emperor inside the base. Although he was said to be the one managing the base, in reality, it had always been Sun Qinqin and Chen Ling beneath him who helped keep the people below in line. He had barely even gone downstairs from the top floor.
But because he was the manager of this base, whenever there were good supplies, whether food or crystal cores, they were always sent to him first.

When they met at the shopping mall yesterday afternoon, Chen Ling had already seen that these people should have some ability. After all, people without ability would not have gone to such a place to collect supplies.
That was why he had invited this team over in the first place. As for the beautiful young girl in their team, she had merely been a beautiful accident. He really had fallen for her at first sight.

Aside from the vines binding them and the muscle relaxant injected earlier, they did not do anything else to these two people.
These were all the methods originally intended to be used on them. Now they were simply returning them one by one. As for whether they could survive, that would depend on their own luck.
As for whether these two would find a way to escape after they left, or whether they would be lucky enough to encounter survivors here and be rescued, none of that had anything to do with them.
After the Morning Light Squad left, the zombies wandering on the street smelled the scent of living people. One after another, they “walked” over from the nearby streets, shops, and various corners.

But right now, they had both been injected with muscle relaxant. Their bodies were weak and powerless. They could not even stand up, so how could they have any extra strength to flee? Even finding a place to hide was difficult.
Seeing the zombies getting closer and closer, the fat man reacted first. In a panic, he began crawling toward the nearby buildings. At such a life-or-death moment, there was no room to care about face or dignity. He directly used both hands and feet, crawling along the ground.
After a few minutes, the zombies caught up. By then, the two of them had only crawled a short distance forward and were still some way away from the nearest shop. The fat man glanced at Sun Qinqin beside him. His eyes turned ruthless. He sped up his crawling, then found an opportunity to use his own body weight to slam into the woman beside him.
Sun Qinqin had only been focused on crawling forward and watching the zombies. She had not paid too much attention to the side. Because she had fallen behind, she could only watch helplessly as the zombies approached her bit by bit.
Soon, a shrill scream rang out on the street. In the dark night before dawn, it sounded somewhat terrifying. Not long after, the sound grew quieter and quieter, until it could no longer be heard.
Sun Qinqin was dead.
Several zombies pounced on her and directly tore her body apart. The smell of blood further stimulated the surrounding zombies that had not yet come over. Just as the fat man was about to crawl onto the steps, the zombies caught up to him too. Their long nails clawed into his ninety-kilogram body, tearing away flesh along with blood.

All that remained on the street was a ground covered in bloodstains, along with some remains and severed limbs.
