ATNMDT Chapter 15

Mu Wanwan had no idea that her act of eating ordinary rice to save money had caused Mr. Dragon such a violent psychological shock.

Exhausted by everything that had happened during the day, she boiled water and helped both herself and Mr. Dragon wash up simply. Then she counted all the belongings she and Mr. Dragon had. Feeling rather troubled, she poked Mr. Dragon’s arm.

“Mr. Dragon, let me tell you, I won’t be putting a low-grade spirit stone beside you tonight for now.”

Her voice was soft, tapping against Mr. Dragon’s eardrums.

“Although you’re unconscious right now, if the spiritual energy suddenly stops, it must still be uncomfortable, right?” Mu Wanwan muttered. “We’re very poor now. I’m planning to go out tomorrow and buy some burning grass seeds. Once I earn money, I’ll put spirit stones beside you again. I’ll give you lots and lots of them, and buy really good supplements too…”

As Mu Wanwan spoke, she couldn’t help laughing.

Looking at Mr. Dragon’s expression, which had unknowingly become somewhat ferocious again, she felt a little sympathy.

“Mr. Dragon, your brows are always furrowed. Does it hurt especially badly…”

She looked at his tightly knitted sword-like brows and couldn’t help reaching out to smooth them. She gently brushed them, only to suddenly realise what she was doing. Her face flushed red, and she withdrew her hand.

Mu Wanwan felt as if even her fingertips had grown hot.

She felt that she was being so shameless. Right now, she was clearly taking advantage of Mr. Dragon, always poking his face while he was unconscious. This was bad. Very bad.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Dragon. I didn’t mean to touch you.”

Mu Wanwan apologised softly again.

But Mr. Dragon had no reaction, so her courage grew again. She tucked the quilt properly around him, blew out the lamp, and said, “Good night, Mr. Dragon.”

Mu Wanwan soon fell asleep, utterly unaware that her actions and words had made a certain dragon feel both guilty and pained inside.

She had a particularly beautiful dream.

In the dream, she earned many, many spirit stones. She piled all those crystal-clear spirit stones beside Mr. Dragon and watched as they slowly turned into spiritual energy and drifted into his body. Then Mr. Dragon grew bigger and bigger, bigger and bigger…

Then she woke up.

Mu Wanwan rubbed her head, feeling that she must have been far too tired recently. Mr. Dragon beside her was breathing evenly and looked no different from last night. Outside, the sky was just beginning to brighten.

With something on her mind, she hurriedly got up. Thinking that she should leave early for her first trip outside, she did not make food. She simply helped the two of them wash up, then took the half-packet of seeds from the courtyard and one stalk of burning grass, brought almost all their belongings with her, and left.

The Tyrant’s Residence was very large and rectangular in shape. The tyrant’s sleeping palace was located in the deepest part of the residence. Beyond that was a tall mountain, which was also where the forbidden area was located.

Perhaps because she had always been under surveillance, not long after Mu Wanwan walked out of the sleeping palace, someone blocked her path.

The person who came was still a familiar face she had seen once before. It was the little maid who had fiercely slapped Bai Shuiyao that day. She looked at Mu Wanwan with a smile and gave her a fairly proper salute.

“Madam, where are you going so early?”

Mu Wanwan smiled at her as well.

“I want to go to the market. You…”

The little maid saw her embarrassment.

“Madam can just call me Hongye.”

“Hongye.”

Mu Wanwan still had a fairly good impression of this little maid, but when she heard that her name was Hongye, she felt a little awkward. Hongye was probably Qingye’s younger sister. Earlier, seeing how much this maid hated Bai Shuiyao, Mu Wanwan had thought the maid liked Qingye…

“If Madam goes today, then the next time you can leave will be ten days later. Does Madam really want to go out today?” Hongye asked.

“Mm.” Mu Wanwan nodded.

“All right. From here, it’s a little far to leave the residence and reach the nearest market. I’ll send Madam out. Please wait here for a moment.”

After saying that, Hongye quickly ran off.

Very soon, Mu Wanwan heard the sound of **da-da** by her ear. She felt a little delighted. Could it be that there was a carriage to ride in?

But when she turned her head, she saw Hongye driving an ox cart and waving at her.

“Madam, get on. This ox is very gentle.”

Mu Wanwan: “…”

So the residence had an ox cart.

Mu Wanwan put on the bamboo hat Hongye handed her, sat on the cart, and silently complained inwardly.

As Hongye drove the ox cart, she asked, “Madam, there are three larger markets near the residence. Which one do you want to go to?”

Mu Wanwan was a little blank.

The original owner had previously lived in a small place beneath the tyrant’s territory and knew nothing about the markets surrounding the Tyrant’s Residence. She said with some difficulty, “Hongye, could I trouble you to tell me what markets there are?”

Hongye turned her head and gave her a meaningful look.

“Madam doesn’t know?”

Mu Wanwan choked. Then, thinking of something, she gritted her teeth and took a low-grade spirit stone from her pocket, handing it to Hongye.

“Hongye, I’ll trouble you.”

Hongye revealed a smile at her. Her mouth said, “Madam is too polite,” but her hand still accepted the spirit stone and put it into her pocket.

“The dragon race’s market is the closest, but everything sold there is very expensive. Farther away, there is a market jointly run by humans and dwarves. The most shabby and smallest market belongs to the elves,” Hongye said. “Madam had better go to the elves’ market.”

“Why not go to the human and dwarf market?” Mu Wanwan was a little confused.

In the original owner’s memories, the few elves in Father Mu’s territory were all especially exclusionary, while humans and dwarves seemed a little easier to get along with.

“Madam may not know this. Although the elves are somewhat exclusionary, they are proud and aloof. They disdain deceiving the weak, and the things they sell are also cheap,” Hongye said with a light laugh. “We servants usually go to the elves’ market too.”

“But it still depends on what Madam needs. If you want to buy textiles and vegetables, go to the elves’ market. If you want to go to an auction house or buy valuable things, go to the dragon race’s market. The human and dwarf market is for weapons, the black market, or buying slaves.”

Hongye was still fairly kind and told Mu Wanwan everything she knew.

“Which one does Madam want to go to?”

“The elves’ market.”

Mu Wanwan thought that she was now poor beyond words, and originally, she wanted to buy seeds anyway. The elves were better at planting, and she herself was a wood-type cultivator. If she went there, perhaps she could find some seeds.

“All right.”

Hongye did not waste time.

“It will take about an hour to get there from here. Madam, you must not take off your bamboo hat.”

Mu Wanwan nodded dully, secretly guessing that this bamboo hat was probably to prevent her identity from being discovered.

The ox cart gradually moved away from the sleeping palace. Mu Wanwan couldn’t help turning her head to look at that palace, which looked majestic from the outside but was incomparably desolate within. Silently in her heart, she called, “Mr. Dragon.”

She had only just prepared to leave, yet she already missed him a little.

If she was away for a day, would he be bullied?

She had locked the door. It should be fine, right?

When the ox cart left through the side gate of the Tyrant’s Residence, Ao Qin, who occupied the palace near the main gate, slowly opened his eyes.

His divine consciousness could extend across almost the entire Tyrant’s Residence. Like invisible eyes, it watched as Mu Wanwan rode the ox cart toward the elves’ territory.

“My lord, should we send someone to protect Madam?” asked a trusted black dragon subordinate kneeling below.

Ao Qin tapped his fingers and said coldly, “No need.”

She was only a tool used to keep up appearances.

If she died, then she died.
