MDMSC Chapter 73

She Couldn’t Save Face

Jun Yue knew that, logically speaking, she should turn her head at a time like this. Even if Fang Anyu was a boy, barging in like this and seeing him in such a state was indeed very reckless.

But she stood where she was and did not move. After her gaze shifted away for an instant, it moved back again.

In the small circle Jun Yue mixed with, boys and girls dating was an extremely common thing. It was not as if she had never had ambiguous feelings with anyone before, but she had always maintained a lofty, superior attitude. Since she had never truly fallen for anyone, naturally, she had never truly dated either.

She had never dated, but in private, she had seen men in certain films. However, seeing one from such a close distance in real life was truly a first. Besides, he was different from those men. Some of them would cause Jun Yue physical discomfort, but Fang Anyu was truly different.

His lines were somewhere between a young man and a boy, smooth and without the slightest excess flesh, though he did not have muscles either. And this person really was unusual. He looked too clean. Not only his face, but even his body.

Just by looking at his back, one could basically imagine what sort of appearance he would have when he turned around…

Then, as if heaven had heard Jun Yue’s thoughts, Fang Anyu really did turn around. Their eyes met. After Jun Yue’s gaze swept around once, her breathing tightened slightly.

She cleared her throat somewhat guiltily, and the roots of her ears visibly reddened.

After Fang Anyu froze for a moment, he immediately crouched down and used the clothes in his hands to cover the most important area. Then he looked at Jun Yue in what could only be described as horror.

For a split second, Jun Yue truly felt like she was some shameless hooligan, because she wanted to remind Fang Anyu: stop covering it, I already saw.

But in the end, Jun Yue still behaved like a decent person. She turned around, closed the door, and stood outside the bedroom, leaning against it as her heart pounded like thunder. She tried to calm her breathing, feeling that perhaps she and Fang Anyu really did have some difficult, sinful fate between them.

Still, he had buried his face in her chest, and now she had seen him. That counted as even, right?

When Fang Anyu came out after putting on his clothes, his hair was still wet and stuck to his face. He opened the door and saw Jun Yue holding a small watering can and watering the flowers. He hesitated for a moment, then stepped forward and looked at her in confusion.

The expression in his eyes was very easy to understand: Why are you here?

Jun Yue did not hurry to take out the phone. Instead, she carefully looked over Fang Anyu, now properly dressed. Without that earlier feeling of her heart jumping wildly, she let out a slight breath of relief.

She smiled at Fang Anyu, then watered two more pots of flowers. The strange thing was that neither of them spoke, but as the afternoon sunlight shone through the window, Jun Yue actually felt warm.

It was a kind of warmth that spread from her heart outward.

Her heart felt like a ball of yarn stretching out in this warmth, happily and comfortably rolling in the sunlight, its fibres trembling.

She could not help turning her head to look at Fang Anyu in wonder. Perhaps it was because the two of them had both experienced the same unfair favouritism from their families, or perhaps Fang Anyu simply gave people too harmless a feeling, but it was truly rare for her to relax wholeheartedly in front of someone like this.

She was used to covering herself in thorns, rejecting other people’s closeness and kindness. Even her own family did not like her much. If she were not the eldest young miss of the Jun family, no one would pay attention to her at all, let alone flatter and hold her up. Jun Yue had never forgotten this.

But Fang Anyu was different. He really was very obedient, and very strange. On a night when his whole family was celebrating joyfully, he had willingly hidden in the greenhouse, yet he had also been willing to turn on a light for someone who had lost her way.

Even if he had not done it on purpose, he had truly offended her. But he did not seem to care about that matter at all. As a result, when his parents forced him to come and apologise, he had not appeared sincere in the slightest.

Jun Yue felt that she was strange too. If Fang Anyu had apologised respectfully and properly, or said some fake-sounding words, she would not have paid him any attention at all, nor would she have looked at him twice.

And today, just now, she had seen him completely. Fang Anyu had only panicked at the very beginning when he discovered her. Now, standing beside her, it was as if what happened just now had never happened at all.

He did not care. It was very obvious that he did not care.

Jun Yue had originally not wanted to care either, but seeing Fang Anyu like this, she began to wonder: did he not understand?

He was indeed deaf and mute, but through these few interactions, Jun Yue was very certain that he was not intellectually disabled.

The two of them stood silently on the balcony. Jun Yue stared at Fang Anyu for a while, and the watering can in her hand accidentally poured water outside the pot. Fang Anyu suddenly reached out and grabbed Jun Yue’s hand, guiding her to aim the spout of the watering can back at the flowerpot.

Jun Yue’s heart jumped. She turned her head to look at Fang Anyu, who was close at hand. He looked at her too. Those eyes were as clear as always, rippling like blue-green waves, dazzling to look at.

Jun Yue lowered her head and glanced at Fang Anyu’s hand on the back of hers. It was warm, slightly damp, and extremely natural—so natural that Jun Yue felt as if it were only right and proper for unfamiliar young men and women to hold hands like this. But the peaceful, comfortable feeling in her heart gradually changed because of Fang Anyu’s sudden closeness.

Following Fang Anyu’s movements, Jun Yue watered one pot after another. Fang Anyu focused seriously on the flowerpots. He controlled very strictly how much water each pot should receive while guiding Jun Yue.

Jun Yue was also very focused. She was focused on watching Fang Anyu’s side profile gradually draw closer. Suddenly, she laughed aloud.

This time, she was certain. Fang Anyu was seducing her.

Fang Anyu could not hear her laugh, but he could feel her shoulders trembling. Somewhat puzzled, he turned his head to look at her and saw Jun Yue narrowing her eyes, smiling at him with an unclear meaning.

“I’m actually a little seduced by you,” Jun Yue said to Fang Anyu, speaking to herself. “Your method is quite special…”

The two of them were so close that they could almost hear each other’s breathing. Fang Anyu looked at Jun Yue’s smile with a face full of confusion. Wanting to know what she had said, he once again tried to touch her lips with his finger.

Jun Yue tilted her head slightly and avoided him.

She pulled her hand out from between Fang Anyu’s hand and the watering can, stuck both hands into her pockets, and stepped back a little to look at Fang Anyu. Her expression was very strange.

She had encountered many kinds of confessions before: passionate ones, crazy ones, slow and gentle ones, and people who had secretly liked her but never dared to say it. Yet this was the first time she had met someone like Fang Anyu. The first time, he had dared to reach out and touch her lips. The second time, he had bitten his lip and seduced her. This was only the third time. If she had not stepped back, she had no doubt he would have kissed her. After all, he had come closer little by little. Any closer and they would have touched.

As for Fang Anyu’s excuse that he needed to touch her lips because he was learning lip-reading, Jun Yue had never believed it.

Fang Anyu stared at Jun Yue in a daze. Jun Yue tilted her head and muttered again, “I finally know why I kept thinking about you.”

Her fingers played with the phone in her pocket. She took one step back, then another. She shook her head at Fang Anyu, turned around, and walked toward the door.

She had almost fallen for it. Although she felt it was a little unoriginal, she had to admit that Fang Anyu’s behaviour did not disgust her. This was probably related to the fact that he gave people such a clean feeling.

Had he known her long ago? That day when he turned on the light for her, was it a coincidence or intentional?

Jun Yue blew at her hair, planning to return the phone and then take her sisters out for a good meal…

Just as she was about to leave, someone suddenly grabbed her.

Jun Yue: “…”

She turned back to look at Fang Anyu. Seeing his anxious expression, her smile deepened slightly. She leaned against the doorway, waiting to see what he wanted to do.

Was he no longer pretending?

It made sense. She had seen plenty of white lotuses, but this was her first time seeing a male version. After all, a lotus had to look pure enough. Very few boys could meet that condition.

Fang Anyu looked somewhat anxious. He pulled Jun Yue back. Jun Yue had already lost that bit of interest in him, so she struggled once, broke free from Fang Anyu, turned around, and left. Unexpectedly, he pulled her back again.

He used quite a bit of strength. Jun Yue crashed straight into his chest. To stop her from leaving again, Fang Anyu reached out and circled his arms around her shoulders.

Oh-ho. This hooligan act was truly being carried out without restraint.

Jun Yue simply stopped struggling. She leaned in his arms and lifted her head. Fang Anyu really was not annoying, but his schemes ran rather deep. Even his shower gel was her favourite milk scent. It drifted out from his collar, and Jun Yue inhaled lightly, raising her brow.

There was a full head’s difference between their heights. Jun Yue lifted her face. This angle could not be more suitable for kissing. She wanted to see just how bold he was. A little mute, yet quite full of schemes.

However, Fang Anyu did not kiss her as she had expected. Instead, he pulled Jun Yue away from the doorway and then let go of her.

Then he quickly ran back into the bedroom, came out with his little notebook, and wrote rapidly:

— Don’t leave! You can’t leave like this!

After Jun Yue read it, she laughed again. She usually did not like smiling much, but she realised that whenever she was with this little mute, she could not help wanting to laugh.

Fang Anyu wrote quickly again:

— It’s inconvenient for you to go out now. I’ll go find you a pair of trousers.

Jun Yue read it with a smile, then was completely confused. What did he mean, inconvenient? Why did she need to wear his trousers?

Little mute, they were not even together yet, and his possessiveness was already this strong?

But Fang Anyu soon gave her the answer. He reached out and pointed at Jun Yue’s dress, blinking his innocent big eyes as he slowly bit the end of his pen.

Jun Yue turned back to look but did not see anything unusual. She was just about to snatch Fang Anyu’s little notebook when, as soon as she took a step, she suddenly felt a rush… a familiar, hard-to-describe hot flow surging from her lower body.

Jun Yue: “Fuck!”

She turned back and saw that the pale blue long dress she was wearing today had a purplish-red patch on the back…

And only now did she belatedly feel the stickiness and discomfort. Damn it. This thing had never once been on time!

Jun Yue collapsed inwardly and grabbed at her hair. She stood there, not daring to move at all. Meeting Fang Anyu’s worried gaze, she felt that she was the number one fool under heaven!

She was truly collapsing and angry, but she had nowhere to vent it. Jun Yue grabbed the little notebook and furiously wrote:

— Why didn’t you say so earlier! Were you deliberately watching me embarrass myself?!

Fang Anyu looked innocent. After reading it, he shook his head hard and wrote:

— I only just saw it!

Jun Yue huffed and glared at him, not daring to move a single step. Her period always ambushed her suddenly. Usually, around the right dates, she would carry sanitary pads with her. There had originally been some in her school bag too. But when she left school, she had run into Fang Anyan, and then all her attention had gone to buying Fang Anyu a phone. She had completely forgotten about this matter!

It was so humiliating. No matter how thick-skinned Jun Yue was, she could not help turning red. She glared at Fang Anyu as if she were about to cry. In the end, she was still a little girl. Being discovered by a boy in this kind of situation, and even having him point it out, made her unable to save face.

Seeing the change in her expression, Fang Anyu immediately panicked and wrote:

— What’s wrong? Does it hurt badly?

Jun Yue snapped, “You sure know a lot!”

But after yelling, she saw Fang Anyu’s confused face. She snatched the little notebook and wrote in despair:

— I don’t dare move! If I move, there’ll be a lot! It’ll gush out!

After Fang Anyu read it, his face also turned red. The two little monkey-butts stared at each other for a while. Fang Anyu then wrote:

— I’ll carry you to the bathroom, then you can change into my clothes?

Jun Yue wanted to cry but had no tears. Biting her lip, she nodded and let Fang Anyu pick her up like a child…
