T-t-t-this!
An unprecedented sense of shame made Jun Yue’s entire body stiffen. She let Fang Anyu carry her like a wooden stake all the way to the bathroom.
Fang Anyu quickly wrote in his little notebook:
— You should take a shower. I’ll find some smaller clothes of mine for you.
Jun Yue did not know what expression or movement she should make. She stood there rigidly until Fang Anyu went out and closed the door for her. Only then did her face seem to belatedly flare up like a wildfire.
How the hell was she supposed to face anyone after this?!
Just now, she had even been overthinking things by herself! Ahhh—
Jun Yue hugged her head and opened her mouth in a silent wail. Then she felt another merciless warm flow come down because of her big movement, and only then did she finally force herself back to her senses and begin dealing with herself.
But this was not her own home, and she did not have any sanitary pads on her. Even if she showered and changed clothes, wouldn’t it still get dirty again?
She could not possibly ask Fang Anyu to buy sanitary pads for her, so she could only send messages to the few girlfriends downstairs who were pestering Fang Anyan, asking whether any of them had brought some.
Unfortunately, perhaps because they were having too much fun, not everyone replied. And those who did reply were very regretfully not on their inconvenient days, so no one had brought any.
Sitting on the toilet, Jun Yue experienced the hardships of life. Just when she did not know what to do, someone gently knocked on the door outside. Then came the sound of rapid writing, and soon, a piece of paper was slipped in through the crack beneath the door.
Jun Yue picked it up and saw that it said:
— I found clothes for you. I put them at the door. I’m leaving the bedroom now. Open the door and take them yourself.
Jun Yue had never lacked anything since she was little. At this moment, two people replied to her phone messages, asking where she was. Jun Yue did not reply. She was still stubbornly gritting her teeth, feeling that it was too embarrassing and not wanting to say it.
Of course, she could not think of any other solution either. In the end, she would probably still have to ask one of her girlfriends to buy some for her before she could come out. It was just that the heat on her face had not gone down yet. She needed to calm down a little.
She sighed and slowly opened the bathroom door. Fang Anyu was not standing outside. The bedroom door was also closed, and even the curtains had been drawn. The room was dim, giving off an indescribable sense of safety. At this inappropriate moment, a small bit of goodwill toward Fang Anyu rose in Jun Yue’s heart.
She poked half her body out, took the clothes and trousers from the floor, and somewhat worriedly prepared to casually place them on the cabinet beside her that held the bath products. But as she tilted them, something somehow fell out.
Jun Yue’s reaction was quick. She caught it in a flurry, then looked closely. It was a brand-new pair of men’s underwear.
But the men’s underwear was strangely bulky. Jun Yue blushed and opened it in confusion. Inside, there was also a lot of toilet paper.
Completely puzzled, she flipped through the toilet paper folded into long strips. Slowly, she realised what this thing was for!
Fuck!
Since she had never lacked anything growing up, even though there was toilet paper in the bathroom, she had never thought that this thing could be used like this!
But how did Fang Anyu know?!
He looked so pure on the outside. Could it be that he was a hooligan deep down?!
Jun Yue howled inwardly nonstop. But in the end, after struggling so hard that even the roots of her teeth ached between revealing her miserable situation to her girlfriends and using this emergency pad Fang Anyu had folded for her, she chose the thing Fang Anyu had given her.
In truth, choosing Fang Anyu made her feel even more ashamed. But if she chose her girlfriends, she was afraid those unreliable, loose-mouthed people would spread the story of her embarrassment. Then it would be nailed forever onto her pillar of shame. Even when she had asked whether they had brought sanitary pads, she had only said that her stomach hurt a little and she was afraid her period might come. She had not told them about her current awkward situation.
At least Fang Anyu could not speak. There was no way he could tell anyone about something this embarrassing. He could not even come into contact with the people in her circle, so Jun Yue was not afraid.
She bit her lip, unfolded the underwear Fang Anyu had found for her, put it on, then awkwardly placed the long strip of folded paper inside. Honestly, during the process, there were several moments when she wanted to bite her tongue and kill herself, but she endured them all. Finally, she put on the tracksuit Fang Anyu had found for her. Although the size was still a little big, it just happened to cover the embarrassing area behind her. Jun Yue thought that if he had deliberately found such a long top for her, then in the future, whoever dared to say Fang Anyu’s brain did not work well would have to answer to her.
If he could even think of details like this, then how scheming must he be?
After sorting herself out, Jun Yue opened the door and walked out. She did not leave immediately. After gathering her courage in the sitting room for a while, she finally opened the door. Then, in one burst of energy, she crossed the living room from the bedroom and swept out like a gust of wind. She had no face to see anyone. Forgetting all about her girlfriends, she rushed downstairs, ran to the front entrance, and told the driver she had brought to take her home.
Jun Yue curled up in the back seat. The clothes on her body were somewhat loose, but Jun Yue was good-looking and had a good figure. Although the clothes looked ill-fitting, they were not especially awkward. They resembled the most popular kind of loose sportswear these days. It was just that the material did not look particularly good, because these were clothes Fang Anyu had worn before the Fang family became wealthy. They were not from any famous brand.
But old clothes always had an indescribable comfort. After Jun Yue got into the car, that unbearably awkward feeling faded. She only wanted to hurry home and sleep to calm her nerves.
In the end, she vaguely told her girlfriends that something had happened at home and she had left first, then threw the matter to the back of her mind.
But after she returned home, she changed out of Fang Anyu’s clothes and even his shorts. She threw away the shorts, but did not know what to do with the top and trousers.
And Jun Yue was practically possessed. From time to time, she would think of Fang Anyu and carefully analyse his every move. No matter how she thought about it, she felt that even if Fang Anyu was not seducing her, he was intentionally getting close to her.
But how could he be so calm?!
Jun Yue felt that he was very strange. Besides, how did he know how to fold toilet paper into something like a sanitary pad for a girl’s period?! Even she had not known that—
Jun Yue felt that she needed to stay far away from him. This person was not quite right.
For the next several days, she went to school normally. However, because she was often distracted and stared blankly at the blackboard during class, the teacher even thought she had finally realised the importance of studying. For the past two days, the teacher kept looking at her with gratified, elder-like relief.
Jun Yue also became somewhat aware of her tendency to become obsessed. That weekend, she specially arranged to go to the seaside with her girlfriends.
After returning home, she prepared her clothes and was beautifully dressed, ready to go out, when she saw Fang Anyu standing at the door with a bag in his hand.
Jun Yue was so startled that she flinched backward, and her face uselessly reddened.
It was really because the moment she saw Fang Anyu, she thought of that utterly humiliating incident. Jun Yue felt as if she had developed a psychological shadow from it!
A driver was parked beside Fang Anyu’s car. Jun Yue found it somewhat surprising. He had actually come alone.
Was the thing he was carrying for her grandfather?
She put on her sunglasses and prepared to pretend she had not seen him. She did not want to talk to Fang Anyu. It was too awkward!
But Fang Anyu had no sense of tact at all. Carrying the bag, he blocked Jun Yue’s path and handed over a piece of paper.
Written on it was:
— Can we talk?
All the hairs on Jun Yue’s body stood on end. With her sunglasses lowered, her face looked cold and cool, but the blinking eyes behind the sunglasses betrayed her.
What did he want to talk to her about? How to fold toilet paper into a sanitary pad?! She was not talking about that! She had already made plans to go out and have fun with her girlfriends!
But a few minutes later, Jun Yue and Fang Anyu arrived at a bench outside their villa. It was very secluded here, separated from the road by a stretch of woods. Basically, no one would come here.
Jun Yue sat beside Fang Anyu, watching him rapidly write on the paper. She wore her sunglasses and pretended to sit properly, but behind the lenses, she secretly peeked at him.
Jun Yue had asked him on the paper what he had come for. Fang Anyu was also very direct and wrote:
— Can I be friends with you?
In truth, he was very nervous. He had never had a friend before. His contact with Jun Yue had only been three brief times. But that day… Jun Yue had taken the initiative to come find him. She had also seemed to like his flowers very much. She should agree, right?
His lip-reading and sign-language teachers had all told him to try making friends and communicate more. Only then could he practise more. Dedicated practice was often not as useful as daily practice.
Aside from Jun Yue, he had almost no contact with anyone else. Even when he did, many people were impatient about watching him write.
At present, Jun Yue was the only person with whom he had any hope of becoming friends. He had even told his mother. He had thought she would stop him, but unexpectedly, his mother had agreed and even sent a driver to bring him.
Fang Anyu did not know that his mother had actually seen the girl’s dress hanging on his balcony. Out of unspeakable thoughts, she had allowed him to come and had the driver follow him.
When Jun Yue saw what Fang Anyu had written, she immediately slapped her hand over his as if she had caught him red-handed. She took off her sunglasses and shouted with a face that said, “I knew it!”
“Oh! So this really was your goal!”
Fang Anyu did not know that when boys and girls became friends, it was still considered normal if they had spent a long time together and it happened naturally. But bringing it up after only three meetings was not a very normal thing.
Besides, how could there be any pure friendship between a man and a woman?
Jun Yue smiled. She herself did not know how brightly she was smiling. She looked sideways at Fang Anyu and glared, then snatched the little notebook and wrote:
— I’m not that casual. What if I don’t agree?
After Fang Anyu read it, his expression dimmed slightly. He looked at Jun Yue and slowly bit his lip, making no effort to hide his disappointment. But he still replied:
— Then it’s okay. I brought back the thing you left at my place.
Jun Yue gave a hum. Then she watched, wide-eyed, as he took out from the small bag beside him the dress she had worn on the day her period came.
Jun Yue was dumbstruck. Thunder and lightning crackled through her mind so fiercely that she was almost burnt to a crisp.
T-t-t-this!
Since childhood, whenever her clothes got dirty, she had always taken them off and thrown them aside. She could throw them anywhere, and naturally, someone would tell whether they should be discarded or washed. She had not remembered this dress at all. Wasn’t this something that should have been thrown away?!
She grabbed the dress and turned it over and over to look. A scent of soap hit her in the face. It had clearly been washed…
Jun Yue snatched the little notebook and wrote:
— Are you crazy?! Shouldn’t this dress have been thrown away?! Why did you let the servants wash it?!
Wouldn’t that mean everyone knew about her embarrassing incident?! A dress appearing in a boy’s bathroom—if this were ancient times and word got out, she would absolutely be drowned in a pig cage—
Holding the dress, Jun Yue was completely frantic. She glared angrily at Fang Anyu. But who would have known that Fang Anyu’s next sentence would turn Jun Yue into a wooden stake that only knew how to breathe, blending completely with the bench beneath them, motionless.
Fang Anyu wrote:
— Don’t be anxious. It wasn’t the auntie who washed it. I washed it.
