Extra 1
Wen Ci did not manage to return home that weekend because the school suddenly arranged a training session.
She was not originally on the attendance list, but the designated teacher had been hospitalised with appendicitis. After spending the whole day busy with the parents’ meeting, Wen Ci had barely arrived home when a school leader messaged her and asked her to fill the empty place the following day.
When she informed her mother over WeChat, Mother Wen replied unhappily:
**Mother: Is it a real training session this time, or another fake one?**
Wen Ci did not mind the sarcasm. Instead, she smiled as she replied.
**Wen Ci: It’s real. It’s here in the city and only lasts for this weekend. I have to attend every afternoon. I’ll come back for my clothes next weekend.**
**Wen Ci: Mum, I won’t lie to you again.**
After she sent that message, Mother Wen remained silent for a long time.
Wen Ci was already accustomed to it. Unexpectedly, when she emerged from the shower, she found that her mother had replied.
**Mother: You never lied when you were little.**
**Wen Ci: Mm. But I wasn’t happy back then, Mum.**
This time, Mother Wen truly did not respond again.
Holding her phone, Wen Ci sat on the sofa shoulder to shoulder with Zhou Wu.
Zhou Wu had played basketball that afternoon and showered the moment he returned. Now his legs were spread casually, with a laptop resting on his lap.
After leaving Lingsheng, he had taken several months off, which was probably enough.
When he returned to his hometown recently, his grandfather immediately put him to work. The old man said that he was getting older and no longer wanted to manage anything, so Zhou Wu needed to hurry and take over the company.
The Lingsheng Group had originally been built by Zhou Huacheng draining resources from Zhou Wu’s grandfather. The two companies operated in mostly the same industries, and the middle and senior managers were all familiar faces.
There were no real obstacles to Zhou Wu taking over.
He simply had a great deal of material to read and many meetings to attend.
Throughout October, he had flown all over the country. Only this week had he finally found a few quieter days.
Even then, he still had to act every evening and accompany his girlfriend while she rehearsed for parents’ meetings.
The sofa in the rented flat was genuinely too small.
Wen Ci had considered replacing it, but the living room was tiny and could not fit anything larger.
After thinking for a moment, she said, “Zhou Wu, why don’t you go home and work?”
Zhou Wu lowered his gaze towards the top of her head, his tone cold.
“I accompanied you to parents’ meetings every night, and now that they’re over, you’re getting rid of me after I’ve served my purpose?”
Wen Ci burst out laughing.
“No. I just think my sofa is too small. It must be uncomfortable for you.”
“It’s fine.”
Zhou Wu glanced at the phone in her hand.
“Did you tell your mother?”
The head resting against his shoulder gave a faint hum.
“You genuinely don’t want me to go with you next week?” Zhou Wu asked again.
The head shook.
“Teacher Wen,” Zhou Wu said lazily, “you aren’t planning to refuse responsibility for me, are you?”
“I’ll take responsibility.”
“Then why won’t you take me to meet your parents?”
Wen Ci knew he was simply worried about her returning alone.
“Can we wait a little longer? Things with my family haven’t been resolved yet.”
She looked up at him, her eyes curving as she joked,
“I’m afraid you’ll fight with my father. He can’t beat you.”
Zhou Wu raised an eyebrow and followed her nonsense.
“What do you mean? You genuinely wouldn’t take my side?”
“Even if I joined him, we still couldn’t beat you.”
Zhou Wu supported her chin and lowered his head to kiss her.
His lips were warm, but his voice was cool.
“This isn’t about who can win. It’s about where your loyalties lie.”
Wen Ci kissed him while laughing, her words indistinct.
“Sorry.”
Zhou Wu smiled.
“That apology has no sincerity.”
The moment he finished speaking, Wen Ci caught his wrist.
Imitating what he had done inside the haunted house, she guided his hand beneath the hem of her shirt and let him slide it inside.
Wen Ci wore Zhou Wu’s T-shirt.
She hardly wore her own pyjamas anymore.
Zhou Wu raised an eyebrow and praised her with a drawl,
“As expected of a teacher. You learn so—”
The moment his fingers registered what they were touching, his voice abruptly stopped.
She was wearing something beneath the T-shirt.
The fabric felt rough and slightly dry yet soft, with obvious openings in the material.
Zhou Wu rubbed his fingers over the unfamiliar fabric and looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
His eyes silently asked what it was.
Wen Ci had just showered.
Her face was clean and bare, and her body carried the faint floral fragrance of body wash.
Combined with the oversized white T-shirt, she looked impossibly innocent.
When she opened her mouth, even her voice was soft and gentle.
Yet what she said was,
“The lingerie I said I would buy before.”
Her face reddened, and she hesitated.
“I don’t know whether you’ll like it.”
Both of them had been busy recently, and Zhou Wu had hardly been in Jiangcheng.
He had finally returned this week, but every evening, just as their kisses became breathless, Wen Ci would cup his face and push him away.
“No, Zhou Wu. I’m too immersed in the role right now. I feel as though you’re a student’s parent.”
Zhou Wu would raise an eyebrow and thoughtfully suggest,
“Then let’s try role-playing.”
“We can try, but I can’t play the teacher because I genuinely am one,” Wen Ci said. “It would make me want to resign.”
“…”
Consequently, they had not slept together all week.
Towards the end, Zhou Wu was not even willing to kiss her anymore.
She would start something without allowing him to finish it.
Yet every time Wen Ci lifted her chin towards him, he still could not f*cking resist leaning closer like a dog and kissing her.
He endured and endured.
At last, those damned parents’ meetings were over.
The oversized T-shirt and trousers were thrown far away.
Zhou Wu did not answer her question.
But when he used his mouth on her, he did not even make her remove the thin garment.
His fingers gathered the fabric and pulled it aside until her legs in white stockings trembled uncontrollably against his back.
Wen Ci raised her eyes and saw Zhou Wu lazily lick his lips.
A faint lace imprint marked his cheek.
Her scalp tingled again.
Zhou Wu rubbed his fingers against her through the material and negotiated hoarsely,
“Help me, baby. Pull it aside yourself.”
Wen Ci opened her mouth, her voice trembling.
“I’ll take it off.”
“Don’t.”
Zhou Wu kissed her.
“I like it like this.”
At first, Wen Ci’s skin and the white lace were nearly the same colour.
Very soon, however, a difference appeared.
Heat gradually turned Wen Ci’s skin pink.
The bed did not make any noise.
Only Wen Ci did, mingled with distinct, broken sounds of moisture.
Every time, Wen Ci thought they had already gone too far.
Then the next time came, and she discovered they could go even further.
Zhou Wu had already become completely familiar with her body and knew exactly what made her feel best.
But this was not Zhou Wu’s home.
It was her rented flat with its terrible soundproofing.
Wen Ci’s vision turned white, and her entire body burned.
She caught Zhou Wu’s hand and pulled it towards her mouth.
“Zhou Wu, Zhou Wu…”
She called him while desperately restraining herself.
“Cover my mouth. I—I can’t hold it in…”
Zhou Wu cooperatively covered her mouth.
He genuinely used some strength.
It did not hurt, but it carried a faint sense of force.
Wen Ci’s rapid, heavy breaths struck the space between his thumb and forefinger.
Zhou Wu leaned over her and said hoarsely,
“Baby, when you make me do this, it looks as though I’m forcing you.”
Wen Ci made two muffled sounds behind his palm.
She could not bear Zhou Wu calling her *baby*.
He never used it normally.
Only when they did these things did he call her that again and again.
He knew she liked hearing it and reacted strongly, so he did it deliberately.
When they finished again, Zhou Wu removed the c*ndom, tied it and threw it into the bin.
Wen Ci lay weakly across the bed, the lace rising and falling sharply with her breathing.
Her cheeks were completely red, as though she were drunk.
She placed her hands beneath herself and tried to get up to wash.
She had no strength.
She decided to rest briefly before going.
Then her ankle was caught and lifted again.
Wen Ci jolted and used all her remaining strength to push herself upright.
Zhou Wu caught her by the neck and lowered her back down.
Her head sank into the pillow again.
He kissed the tip of her nose.
“We aren’t finished.”
Tears filled Wen Ci’s eyes from the pleasure.
When she spoke, her voice was already hoarse.
“I can barely feel anything anymore.”
Zhou Wu pressed lightly and laughed.
“You can still feel that, can’t you?”
…
The following afternoon, Wen Ci finished her training session.
On the way home, she shielded her phone screen with one hand and requested refunds for several outfits she had ordered but which had not yet shipped.
The moment she submitted the refunds, the customer service system automatically replied:
**We’ve noticed that you applied for a refund, dear. Is there something about the product you’re uncertain about? We’re currently holding a promotion, so buying now is even more affordable!**
Wen Ci sighed.
It had been too excessive.
She would wait for a while before buying anything else.
It did not matter if they cost more later.
When she had climbed out of bed to use the bathroom the previous night, she would nearly have collapsed against the shared wall and knelt before Yiqing if Zhou Wu had not supported her.
She was not tired today and still had plenty of energy, but waves of soreness continued throughout her body.
Especially along the insides of her thighs…
It was causing her to walk unusually slowly.
Perhaps she needed to exercise slightly more.
Halfway home, Wen Ci suddenly remembered that she had changed bags that morning and had not brought her keys.
Zhou Wu had been busy lately, so he might no longer be at her flat.
Wen Ci quickly sent him a message to confirm.
He replied almost immediately.
**Zhou Wu: I’m home. Just woke up. Is the training over?**
**Wen Ci: Mm. I’m almost home.**
**Zhou Wu: Buy some c*ndoms, Teacher Wen. We’ve run out.**
A fierce internal battle began inside Wen Ci.
Should she buy them?
If she did, would they do it again tonight?
Would she still be able to walk tomorrow?
Of course, Zhou Wu would never force her if she did not want to.
But whenever Zhou Wu asked, she could never resist.
Now that the psychological obstacle of the parents’ meeting role-play was gone, she had absolutely no resistance to even the slightest temptation.
If she did not buy them—
Wen Ci remembered the previous night.
At one point, she had felt so good she was close to losing consciousness.
She had vaguely asked,
“How long are we going to keep doing this?”
Zhou Wu had answered,
“Until you become pregnant. All right?”
Wen Ci turned and entered the convenience shop near the entrance to her residential complex.
A message arrived while she paid.
In her hurry, Wen Ci swiped it away without reading it.
After leaving the shop, she carefully placed the bag inside her backpack.
Only once she was outside did she open the message.
**Mother: The temperature is dropping sharply in another two days. What are you going to wear if you don’t collect your clothes? I brought them over. I’m downstairs at your building. Which floor do you live on?**
**Mother: 301 means the third floor, right?**
…
The phone in her pocket continued ringing.
Mother Wen stood before the door and knocked twice more.
She was about to take out her phone when—
“Coming.”
An unfamiliar yet strangely familiar male voice sounded from inside.
Mother Wen froze.
Before she could connect the voice with the person in her memory, the door opened with a creak.
She raised her head and saw the man’s naked upper body covered in red marks.
Then she saw a face that immediately reminded her of the past and caused her blood pressure to soar.
Zhou Wu’s voice carried a smile.
She had knocked so urgently that he had not even had time to dress.
“Why didn’t you reply? Did you buy the c*ndoms—”
Mother Wen:
“…”
Zhou Wu:
“…”
A series of hurried, chaotic footsteps sounded throughout the corridor.
During her eight-hundred-metre run in high school, Wen Ci had believed she had used all her strength.
Inside the haunted house, she had thought she had broken through her limits.
Only today did she discover her potential extended far beyond that.
Once she understood the situation, Mother Wen’s vision darkened.
She lifted the bag of clothes and was about to strike someone.
Wen Ci charged over and threw herself against Zhou Wu, attempting to use her small, slender body to shield his firm, muscular one.
Seeing her daughter, Mother Wen hurriedly pulled the bag back.
Zhou Wu quickly recovered.
“Hello, Teacher Cui.”
Many years ago, whenever Zhou Wu successfully climbed over the school fence and skipped class, he would turn back and provocatively greet her with those exact words.
Cui Qingshu raised the bag again—
“Mum! Mum! Please calm down. I—I—I’ll bring him inside first—Yiqing! Yiqing!”
Wen Ci awkwardly pushed Zhou Wu into the flat and shouted towards the opposite door for help.
The opposite door opened.
It was not Dou Yiqing.
It was Qin Yun.
Seeing the situation, he immediately rushed over.
“Oh, f*cking hell! Isn’t this Teacher Cui? Please spare him! Put the bag down—”
Wen Ci:
“…”
Cui Qingshu:
“………………”
Chaos erupted.
Later, Cui Qingshu spent an hour furiously scolding Zhou Wu and Qin Yun inside the flat.
Then she threw down the bag of clothes, turned and slammed the door behind her.
Her final words were directed at Wen Ci:
“Break up with him immediately! If you don’t, then never come home again!”
…
That evening, the four of them ate hotpot together.
Wen Ci could not resist glancing sideways.
She nudged Zhou Wu’s shoulder and tilted her head to examine his expression.
“It’s all right. I’ll find a solution. Don’t be upset.”
“I’m not upset.”
Zhou Wu was reviewing the incident.
“I’m thinking that I didn’t actually provoke her very much in high school.”
Dou Yiqing was still regretting missing the scene that afternoon.
Hearing this, she nodded and spoke fairly.
“That’s true. You were unlucky. Several times when you skipped PE, Wen Ci’s mother happened to be patrolling.”
Qin Yun agreed.
“Exactly! Besides, your grades were excellent back then!”
Zhou Wu analysed lazily,
“So Teacher Cui was this angry for two reasons. First, I wasn’t wearing clothes. Second, she turned around and saw Qin Yun.”
Qin Yun:
“?”
“If I hadn’t messaged you, you wouldn’t have rushed to open the door.”
Wen Ci sighed.
“…I also shouldn’t have called for Yiqing.”
Qin Yun:
“?”
“It’s fine. We’ll take it slowly.”
Zhou Wu said, “I think there’s still hope. She left the clothes behind.”
“Mm.”
Remembering something, Wen Ci smiled.
“There are even several new items inside.”
Qin Yun:
“?”
Holding his chopsticks, Qin Yun listened to them echo each other like a married couple.
He turned to the person beside him.
“Dou Yiqing, are you going to defend me or not?”
“Zhou Wu is paying for this meal. I can’t criticise someone while eating his food.”
Dou Yiqing patted his shoulder and advised him,
“Just endure it. It’ll pass.”
Qin Yun:
“…”
